Default Please Help Looking to purchase Arcade Game

I live in Northern NJ and I am looking to pick up a Arcade Game for my basement. I finally have room and approval from the wife.

I have a few questions and need help:

    1. What game to choose: I was thinking a classic like Pac Man/Ms Pac Man/Jungle King/Mario Bros/Galaxian/Space Invaders. I would love Punch-out , but I would imagine it would be pretty expensive.

    2. Where to buy?

    3. Anyone in the Northern NJ area have one for sale?

    4. What price range do they normally run?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    2. Look for local auctions or try posting on Google: Rec.Games.Video.Arcade.Collecting I'm sure someone on there will have something in your area.

    4. Depends on the game. Less popular games = less money

Just missed one in NJ tho.

From what ive seen, the classics can easily go for over a thousand, which sucks, bc I dont see my self dropping that much for pacman

I'd reccoend a MAME cabinet, if your into emulation and such. It can be any size you want and can play thousands of games on one cabinet.

1 -- Obviously, what game you pick depends on what you want.

2 -- Auctions, newspaper, eBay, newsgroups.

    3 -- N/A

4 -- I have seen working games go between $50 and $5000. You'll have to narrow down what you're looking for a bit more first.

    Prices I've seen lately:

    Pac Man - $500+
    Ms Pac Man - $600+
    Jungle King - $300
    Mario Bros - $300
    Galaxian - $500+
    Space Invaders - $300+
    Punch-out - $400

like flack said....if your gonna pay 5-600 for the game...the cab better be pretty decent and the monitor better work......i would said that is about a fair price though, because, like he said, 4 player games are gonna cost more than a 2 player cab....plus, it would be a nice cab to own

i also recommend looking for a Neo Geo MVS cab....you can get into arcade cabinets with this, and not be stuck only having one dedicated game to play

I really think hes right. I bought a Ms.Pacman as my first machine and got kind of tired of it. Now I have a pretty big selection though
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

I would have to pay 200-300 to have it shipped to me.

How much would you guys pay for a unit like this?

http://hardmvs.com has a bunch of info on Neo Geo cabs

also, i have a dedicated 4 slot big red version 3 at my house, and pictures of it are in the link in my signature....just follow the collection pics link and then go into the basement arcade album....that should give you a good idea of what you should try and look for.
