The Panasonic FZ-1 was really cool looking but I'd go with the Panasonic FZ-10, the top loader, It's a older system, the less moving parts the better. Also, don't forget about the Sharp 3DO, it was a japan only model, but that's hard to find and is usually only owned by the hardcore collecters.

For me my favorite model is the fz1, the front loader. Although, I agree with the post above, the less motorized parts the better on older systems. It plays backups perfectly from as far as I used it (I thought it didnt but I burned a bad cd) and I just like it a lot because of the way it looks and nostalgia since that's the version my friend had. The goldstar seems about the same operational wise but I don't like how it looks at all.

I'm going to recommend the fz1 over the 10 simply pretty much because of the looks. But it you are worried about the cd door having problems from opening a lot, go with the fz10.

My Goldstar 3DO works fine and are supposed to be the best at playing cdrs. Like I said in the other topic.

Did moving parts keep you from buying that Xbox or PS2? Of course not. Go with the FZ-1. It's absolutely rich looking, and I love that front loading drive!

    go with the FZ-1

They were hoping it would be the next VCR and it looks like an outdated DVD player which I think is cool. I had one for a while and it never failed. Get the FZ-1 I think its good for collecting purposes but not too many good games so you might as well go with the good looking machine.

    Another for the FZ-1.

Regardless of what you get, I would recommend staying AWAY from the Goldstar models. They are notorious for breaking down.

Actually, the FZ-10 (Top Loader) Is the re-designed, newer Panasonic 3DO. The FZ-1 is the older model. The 3DO is one of my favorite consoles, and i have done tons of research on it, so here is what i know. The FZ-1 is actually supposed to be a more reliable 3DO system, even though it is older than the FZ-10. The Goldsar 3DO is the cheapest of the bunch, and i tends to have disc tray problems. If you want to play import 3DO titles, get the Sanyo Try 3DO. There was no Sharp 3DO, however there are two 3DO systems that did not make it into the market, the AT&T 3DO and the Samsung 3DO, and i am pretty sure every one here knows about the M2. I hope that helps.

If drive parts are such a problem, why not get an old PC and put in a 3DO Blaster?
