Default What game is this ?!?

Ok guys I have been racking my head now for a long time trying to remember an arcade game that I played back in 86 - 88.
I am sure it was a newer game so I am guessing it was made around 86.

You had a ninja that would throw stars (ninja stars) and you would assend a "mountian" by jumping up. You would encounter different monsters and each level would get harder with more monsters and stronger types of monsters. There may have been more attacks that you could do , but I cant remember I always thought the name was like "Ninjaka" or something like that. But I am probably way off base ?

Each level was a different "mountian" and the top of the mountain normally had a strong monster on top.

If there was ever a group of people that could help me its you guys.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds a little like you're talking about Kid Niki. If the bosses you remember include Death Breath, the Great Horned Witch, Big Baldy and the Grote Green Grub, then that's the one.

After somebody sent me a link I have found the sequel to the game I am thinking about. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?...N&game_id=8893 Ninja-Kid 2 which says it came out in 1987.

However according to KLOV..... Ninja-Kid came out in 1990 ?

Maybe they have the wrong date on the first one ?

But that has gotta be it.

Thanks for the input Arcade Antics

I'm so not researching this at all, nor do I recognize the game from gameplay, but looking at the name as you remember it... Possibly Ninja-Kun? My apologies if I'm thinking of a console games instead of an arcade game...

    Ninja Kid *rocks*!

You can find that one on many pirate Famicom multi-carts, too. It's like a requirement that they include it.

Ok..... This is actually the game I was talking about.

I guess it went by Ninja Kid and Ninjakun

So I thank you all for the help. With the names you dropped for me in this thread I was able to find those sites and this last link where I guess you can even down load the rom ?

Anyhow , I will be looking to buy this game for my arcade now
