We thought that yesterday was our best day ever for hunting. Boy were we wrong!!! Normally we don't even go hunting on Sunday's, but for reasons to discussed later, we made an exception.
As we were hunting today, we found more than we were planning on. We stumbled across an Atari lot for $22. It included:
* Atari 800 Home Computer with official dust cover
* Atari 410 Cassette Recorder
* Atari 1050 Floppy Drive
* Two BASIC Computing cartridges
* One random joystick
* Atari Touch Tablet with Atari Artist
* Frogger and Zaxxon datasettes
* Four random official Atari manuals
* Two PhonicEar Speach Computers (not really sure what these are, but they were free with the Atari lot)
We also took advantage of EBs BOGO sale and for $12 we scored:
* Animaniacs - SNES, cart only
* Battle Toads/ Double Dragon - SNES, cart only (finally!!!)
* Gamecube Freeloader
Along those lines, we also stopped by BB's GameRush. Traded in a copy of Transformers (that we had bought from there for $4.99 during that last promotion), and along with store credit and a random $10 off (don't know how that happened) we snagged, for a measly $2.47:
* Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (new)
But it just kept getting better. The next find was:
* Official Atari (not the crappy Sears one) Game Center, brand new, factory sealed - $20
* Boxed Coleco, missing controllers (but we have extras anyways) - $10
The box for the Coleco is beat up, but it looks like it is repairable. It's all there at least. Both styro are in excellent shape. Very pretty!
Finally, we picked up our greatest find to date. There's a bit of a story to this though.
We actually found it yesterday, but saw the price tag and realized it was more than we had left to spend and we thought it may be a bit overpriced. Upon getting home, we pulled out our trusty DP7 guide and looked it up. Much to our amazement, the only listing we could find that could possibly be what we saw, was an R10 item. Not believing that we just saw an R10 in the wild, we contacted Joe to confirm that this was indeed the same item. We were dumbfounded when he said it was.
This morning, we rushed back to pick it up, constantly worrying that someone else may have already gotten it. Luckily it was still there. Unluckily, the vendor was not. After standing there for about 20 minutes with the item in hand (we were not about to set it down), we found out that the vendor wasn't going to be in today. We were very tempted to just slide $60 under the door and walk off. At this time, the owner of the complex walked up. On a whim, we asked if we could just pay him for the item and much to our surprise, he not only let us pay him, but he let us get it for $10 less!
So here it is... a brand new, factory sealed, Kid Vid Voice Module Controller.
We haven't decided if we want to keep it or sell it - it's not often you stumble across an R10, let alone owning a sealed one. Definitely, our best weekend finds ever.
