OK, I am sure this may of been posted before (many times?) but I believe the answers may well vary today so I will go ahead and ask:

If you could have only 1 console, not including the PC platform but just one gaming console whether home based or handheld then what would it be? What 1 gaming system would you choose if it was the only one you could ever have from this point on and for the next 10 years?

Dreamcast. Not only are the games awesome, it's a great emulation machine as well...so I'd at least get the feeling I had more than one console.

Would the xbox and dreamcast still count? I could still emulate older systems with them.

I guess for real i would chose my snes. So many good rpg's and platform games. Plus with the tabs cut i could play all my imports.

How do you accomplish both the imports on the SNES and emulation on the DC? Sorry but I'm new at this.

Look inside of a snes and near the cartdige slot you'll see two little tabs. Cut them both out and you will be able to play super famicom games. With the dreamcast you can emulate other systems (nes, snes, genesis ect) but the only real good one is the nes. The other systems tend to run at only 80% or below. All you need to do is burn a disk of games and usally just start it up with a boot disk.

Oh and your dreamcast has to be able to play cd-rs.

Geeze.. it'd be a tie between the Dreamcast, and the PS2 for me; the DC has some VERY great games, as well as emulators, and the PS2 would give you access to the whole Playstation game library.. Very hard choice, indeed.

ah for 10 years? Id say snes becasue there are so many great games for it. But with ps2, the fun would last longer. So I guess ps2 even though I dont even have one.

I say a dreamcast because of NesterDC, and the big list of amazing games!
The Monarch: Hey, guess what? Nobody cares who would win in a crazy fantasy fist-fight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden. We never should have brought the henchmen. We're going to be the only ones there with henchmen!

I'd go with the Playstation 2. It has a bunch of good games for pretty much every genre.
