    Default Contra: SS Question

Hey guys, I just bought Contra: Shattered Soldier for PS2 and there was something I couldn't figure out.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't get this Save/Load thing they've got. I only have the option of saving after I get a game over.

Even if I beat level 1, I go back to the game after I saved and on the level select screen it says " level not completed" or something like that. I thought it was maybe because the save wasn't loaded, but I go into options and load it, and the same thing happens.

Do I have to beat all four levels before the save matters or what???
If not, what's the point of saving. Please help cause I'm at a loss here.

The game is pretty fun so far, but it would be a lot better if I knew what was up with the save option  .

From what I heard about the game from a the masses, its hard but very fun.

A game to played not to be watched. Interesting idea in this day n age in gaming.

From what I've heard from people, it should be renamed Contra: Shite Soldier. The appalling music is just the tip of the crapness...

The save option only saves how often/much you've played and other stats. It won't save the stages you've beaten. You have to play all 5 stages straight through.

On the other note, the game is pretty good. It's not truly Contra (No weapon powerups, Not alot of run-and-gunning), but it's still pretty damn good. But the music.....ugh..

Thanks Gamereviewgod! I thought I was just getting stupid or something .

I do really like the gameplay, and that first boss fight - the big fat 2 headed thing - was just awesome.

The music in the game isn't the greatest, but it's not really that bad. I wish the put the Minibosses' Contra music in there. Then it would be stinkin' awesome.

Gotta agree about the first boss. Not only is it truly disgusting, but it's a sight to behold. I also like the meat grinder segment Reminds me of the Contra Hard Corps ads.
