    Default N64 Goemon titles

Of the 2 Goemon games for the N64, which would be the better to play first: Great Adventure or Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon?

Mystical Ninja came out first, Great Adventure is a little bit more pretty. Mystical Ninja is a 3D platformer, Great Adventure is 2.5D. Both are great games. Great Adventure even has 4 player simultaneous if I remember correctly.

I remember renting Mystical Ninja and really enjoying it, even tho the cheesy Mech battles annoyed me at times. If I were to pick up a N64 in the future, I would probably pick up the game so I could play it again.

They are both well worth playing, but I'd say get Mystical Ninja first.

They're both fine games. The 2D game is friggin hard. I never beat that one. The 3D game isn't too tough.

I have only played Mystical Ninja but I enjoy the game and definately recommend it. It isn't too hard and its definately a little bit different compared to all the other N64 titles available.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon was released in April 1998 in the U.S. (August 1997 in Japan). It features decent, first-generation N64 graphics. The music is great though and there's a lot of strange humor. The story is about a bunch of gay dancers who try to take over the world and you have to stop them. Overall, it's a fun, silly game that features more to do than Super Mario 64, but isn't quite as polished. Overall score: 7.2

Goemon's Great Adventure was released in December 1999 in the U.S. (September 1998 in Japan). The music is still great and the graphics are much better than they were in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. Even though the graphics are 3D, the game is a side-scrolling platformer for the most part, which I like. The two-player co-op mode is fun and the Impact robot battles are a bit more polished than they were in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, but the humor isn't quite as weird. Overall score: 7.8
