    Default Great GBA Import Games?

It's been a while since I was trolling for import suggestions...but unlike the PS1 and Saturn, the GBA is new enough that there isn't a preponderance of information out on the net about the games.

On a side note, I love my little GBA, being at college and not willing to risk my PS1 or Saturn on retarded roommates its the only system I can really have imports lying around for.

So aside from ye olde standards:
    Boulder Dash EX
    Bubble Bobble Old & New
    Elevator Action Old & New
    Kuri Kuri Kururin
    Mr. Driller 2/Ace

More specifically, has anyone played Black/Matrix for the GBA? I almost picked up a copy on ebay last week, but it was most assuredly a pirate copy. Damn HK. And Hajime no Ippo - Another Treasure game, similar to Punch Out I assume? Any good?

I'm really enjoying the new Ultra Boy game. But I think that's coming out in the U.S. as well?

Also don't forget about the famicom mini's.. if you're into that sort of thing

I really enjoyed Guri Guri Block Champ myself. It's a puzzle game by Compile which forces you to rotate the entire screen to win. It's a clever concept, and one that's executed really well. I also loved the wacky characters and funny intermissions preceeding each set of stages.

Hajime No Ippo: The Fighting!! is superb fun. Same goes for Astro Boy.

I'm new to imports but I love my GBA and puzzle games are my thing. Where would I buy this game and do you have to do any kind of mod to make it play on a US GBA? If I remember correctly, handhelds aren't usually region-specific, are they?

GBA doesn't have any region lock-outs.
You could prolly get the game on E(Ihateallyoudumbasseswhobiduseditemsuptomorethanr etail)bay

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many places that sell GBA import games for reasonable prices (i.e. <50)

One-shot famicom games released in cartridge form. Zelda, etc. Personally, I think they could'v edone to put more than one game on a cartridge, but whatever.

Unless you speak fluent Japanese, don't bother going for all the Japanese versions as the US ones are coming out in June. Albeit with less cool packaging. Da bastards. Nintendo US has cheapened out while the Japanese Nintendo gets all the cool packaging.

I got the Japanese SMB Famicom Mini.

And i'll get the US one when it's released. I'm just disappointed the US ones will have "Regular Game Boy boxes" while the Japanese ones get those cool plastic display cases. Do Americans not appreciate good packaging?

Come now...its not really necessary at all to speak fluent Japanese to play the Famicom Mini's. Zelda has the most text, and that is barely anything at all - everyone has played Zelda, and can probably figure out what to do next. Not to mention that they reeeaally aren't going to miss out on the "story".
