    Default X-Arcade questions/thoughts

Well, with my tax refund, I finally decided to break down and get one. Would you believe my state refund was EXACTLY $99? It's like it was calling to me. Well, after Airborne left it on my porch for AN HOUR since they never knocked or rang a doorbell (and I only knew I had it because I checked the tracking number ), I busted it out it's gorgeous box and began some fighting game greatness. I got the PS1/PS2 adapter as my freebie since that's were I own the most fighters (well, at least for the console's supported). Questions:

    1. Why won't this work with KOF '95 on the PS1? I get no response at all.
    2. Could this work on a Geo if I used one of those "PS2 adapters" I see on E-bay? I'd much rather play the Geo version of KOF anyway.
    3. Are there anymore adapters other than what the official site sells? I'd love to use this on my Saturn.

Now, the only issue I seem to have are with dragon punch style mauvers. I have no trouble with fireballs, 360's, or anything else. I even went into training in Alpha 3 and got almost nowhere. I hit them about 1 in every 5 shots. Anyone else have trouble?

A friend of mine owns one, and whenever I use it for MvC2 or something else, it always seems a little too stiff. I do usually have trouble with DP manuvers, and I sometimes mess up on the down to forward whatever combos also. IMHO, they made the stick a little to stiff. I prefer Perfect 360 sticks.

You can easily adjust the stiffness of the sticks. They're just arcade sticks, all you got to do is fuss with the silver tabs on the swiches. If you open them up, you'll see what I'm talking about and it's just that easy.

Ok, so I'm supposed to BEND these little metal thingies 1/8 of an inch? It seems to be what I've read so far, but it doesn't seem to make the stick any stiffer. It's a wee bit more accurate, but I'm still not getting consitency like on say, the Geo's standard stick (which is my favorite of all time if that helpos any). Help, please????

My only gripe is that the stick feels too loose. I like hard springs, or the perfect 360s.

What type of joystick does the X-Arcade have? e.g. Competition, Ultimate, Super... It sounds like a Competition-type.

I might get this puppy for my birthday, along with soul calibur II. Also mgiht get it for PC use, but MAME is too darn confusing for me download and use. Whoever has tried it, is it comfortable? Looks pretty good to me...

    It's Xarcade's knockoff of Happ's Super.

If you visit any of the fighting game fansites, you'll find alot of people bitching about the stick for fighting games. If you really want an improvement, replace the joystick with either a Happ Competition or Perfect 360, depending on how much you plan on playing it and how much you play fighting games specifically.

Goto BYOAC. I FINALLY found that the Happ competition controllers seem to be the best solution to EXACTLY what you're describing. Bob roberts has them for $8.50 each. Take you about 15 minutes to swap them if X-arcade uses QD's.

Jaker, use MAME32, it's fairly straight-forward. Once you download the roms, most games just start up without configuration issues.
