At one time or another I have owned every system ever released in the U.S.
Alas I was a kid for many of those wonderful gaming years so I either traded or sold most of the earlier systems or gamesa BAD habit that I no longer practice that being said these are the systems that I currently own and collect for:
Dreamcast: still my favorite home game console ever but the Xbox may soon replace it
XBOX: gotta love having a built in hardrive!
Gamecube: this is a great system that gets no respect from the casual gaming masses , oh well thier loss I guess![]()
I also have a Saturn( U.S. version 2 i think) but all I have is the controller that came with it no hookups games or anything that I picked up at a flea market for a measly 6$I plugged in the powercord from my DC to the Saturn and it seemed to work or at least it powered up and loaded a music disc that i put in.
LATER GAMERS!!!
Hey, this topic is an evergreen. Well, let's see here...
Atari 2600 (w/ cart storage tower!)
Nintendo NES + Famicom (Sharp Twin, also gotta boxed 3D System)
Genesis (two 3s, a Nomad, and a Mega Jet) + PBC
Super NES (Model 2 + SGB)
Nintendo 64
GameCube (black + GBP)
PlayStation
MSX 2 (Panasonic, gonna replace it with one I can use soon)
CD-i (Philips 370 handheld)
Sega Saturn (haven't gotten it to work yet, gardangit)
Sega Dreamcast (bare bones Kiosk unit...don't got no software for it o_O)
Even if I group regional "clones" (as MAME would call them) and periperhals that let me play other game systems' software (PBC an' Game Boy addons) I'm up to 11 systems! W00t! :D
Really want to get a Lynx (for Slime World), a proper SMS (actually a Japanese SMS or a Mark /// with the FM sound unit), and a (white Japanese model, in the case and with the TV Tuner) Game Gear. I own a SK-1100 keyboard "in name only," (need the base SG-1000 II (SG-1000 II is a redesigned SG-1000, no functional difference that I know of) for that) bought from NeoGeoMan, and a Sharp x68000 system which I bought sometime in the middle of last year which has been shipped only recently (assuming it did get shipped, of course).
Man, the number of systems I own is pretty pathetic compared to the rest of you:
NES
Genesis
N64
PS2
...and an Odyssey 2 laying around somewhere in the basement.
I regret having sold my SNES and 32X, though. Especially the SNES.
The only other systems I want to buy in the very near future are (definitely) a Game Boy Advance (especially for when I do Biking Across Kansas this summer) and (maybe) a Turbo Duo.

And I have a hankerin' for a 7800. I'm not sure if the Duo qualifies as 8-bit, but I consider it a suped-up TG16. Looks like I'm trying to be ithe 8-bit king. As |tsr said, if it's over 8 bits, don't touch it!
