Funny thing - I have the exact same answer as Chad, only replace "bear" with "monkey." Actually, he's kind of a monkey-gorilla mix... a gorinkey, if you will. He's also French-Canadian, and a stud with the ladies.

Otherwise, I'd then go with my acoustic guitar, Daisy. 1985 Ovation Legend. We're very much in love.

Nearly the entire game collection, as wonderful as it is, could probably be replaced (with loads and loads of cash.) I think my Arcadia Multicart is the only thing I'd probably never locate another available copy of.

Upon further reflection, there are three items which qualify as "must-rescue" from my house, three I wouldn't leave behind for any reason: my kitties.

Everything else, even if it can't be replaced, can live in my memory if need be. But my three best friends? Nope. They're coming with me, no matter what happens to me in the process of getting them out safely.

See, this is what I never understood as a kid in "Fire Safety" programs. They always told us that cats, dogs, birds, any other type of pet can be replaced, but your life can't. I never understood that, because pets are like a best friend, they can't be replaced and are a part of the family in most house holds. I don't know where I'm going with this, but I always felt puzzled as a child by it and thought the firemen were being unrealistic.

Well, if my place catches fire I'm going to have several hundred poached fish. I'll just come back in with some Tartar sauce and.....

    Agreed...

but the last thing I'd probably part with is my complete Neo Mr. DO kit. I know I'm in a small minority that enjoy that game, but I really like it, it's kinda hard to find complete, and it's the only complete kit (with matching serials, btw) I own and it's minty fresh. Plus I got a good deal on it.

That or my Armed Police Batrider PCB because someday I'm gonna own a cab to play it the way it should be played, and because someday I'm gonna beat it. Man, that's a hard game!

    Eh...

I've got a bunch of very valuable stuff, but anybody's welcome to fly over and offer me enough money to make selling it (and buying a new copy) worth my trouble. Unless they've got their mind set on defacing something (or ripping something apart like some people on eBay are doing to map books and such  ) -- in which case they're going down at all costs.

That said, I think the only thing I really can't part with is my Sticker Game Boy that I've kept unopened all these years. There may be a couple million of them (probably opened long ago), but I'm keeping mine. Even as a little person I knew that unopened things were worth more, and while Legos always came out of the box, a few choice things were left in their original packages.

Not game related, but my Travis Bean Artist electric guitar. I'm in the UK and these things are not common over here...besides my dad bought it for me in 1978 and it cost more than a Gibson Les Paul.

Its nice to own an uncommon US made guitar, but I would sell it for my family if I needed to.

Ok, you've raised the bar. I wouldn't sell my kid or my wife either, along with those C64 diskettes. If worst came to worst though ... selling order yet to be determined.

I probably would hold on to my original Game Boy, the first game system that was ever personally mine. So many hours logged onto that thing, and all I had to do was get a perfect report card. My first real experiences with The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, and the first games I ever beat were on that little grey portable box (Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins was my first beaten game).

The games could go, so long as I still own my old beat-up, green-and-yellow displayed joy box.

Oh yea, and my cat. She's a bitch and thinks she's a princess, but I luvver. (Whew, almost forgot about her... don't want her clawing me in the middle of the night...)

Good point. I hadn't even considered that, as I don't really think of my cat as a possession, and therefore not legal for sale.

My Sonic the Hedgehog 10th Anniversary coin. It would have to be worth hundreds of thousands before I'd sell it. I don't even know if it's that rare right now, but it was only available in a special limited edition collector's box from Japan, so there can't be very many of them. Japanese collectibles are bound to be among the rarest video game items there are, I would think.

Man, if I had to sell all but one thing I don't think it would even matter. Whats one thing? Might as well sell em all. The collection would be broken I doubt I'd ever start collecting again. Seriously I can't pick one.

If I had to....... there isn't anything I wouldn't sell execept things that can't be sold wife, son, family friends etc. I'd even sell my very soul to save my family if it came down to that.

When it comes to material items, nothing can part me from my Dreamcast. I have an immeasurable sentimental attachment to the Dreamcast, plus a huge love of the console itself and the games.

If it came down to it I would sell anything from my collection. But hopefully I never come to this.

I would have a hard time parting with my Ms Pac Man coin op. I love that game.
