    Default Press coverage of CGE2k3?

I was hoping to catch coverage of the show on G4's "Pulse" news show this week, but no dice. Did anyone else cover it? Techtv maybe? Any word or does anyone have any captured video? What's the scoop man?

G4 was definately there. In fact, they were everywhere at some point it seemed. In another thread Joe mentioned that the proper people contacted some other media instead of TechTV by accident so TechTV didn't show up.

I don't know about CNN though. I thought they were supposed to be there too.

I"m trying to get a handle on it myself. No TechTV but CNN was there. I have lots of print media (hopefully you've seen the plugs in Newsweek and Wired, the show will also see coverage in EGM, Game Informer and Tips & Tricks but those are always delayed obviously). I've also got some local papers that I need to scan in but naturally I've got a million tasks and only so much time. I'll disseminate as I get it. As for video, I'm as curious as anyone else. We did a number of interviews at CGE and at least 2 programs from G4 filmed there so be on the lookout!

I think Tim figured out that one of the shows being filmed was "Filter" (I know zero about it, don't have the channel). Someone else mentioned that they aired a couple clips from the show the very same day they filmed them, having gotten a call from a friend that said "Hey, you were on TV!" I forget who that was, sorry!

Yup, Diane (forgot her last name) - the host of Filter - was all over the place, obviously filming "bumpers." Since the show's bumpers often reflect the topic of the show, look for an upcoming Filter episode on classic stuff. My guess is that's when they'll use the CGE footage.

Follow-up - This Friday's episode is "Games that Changed Videogaming Forever." The episode page has links to classic gaming and the like. I think we have a winner. I'll watch/tape it to be sure.

Trust me they were there. I was sitting with two other people. We all wanted to play some warlords, and G4 made Raedon play Pac-Man for like 30 minutes. We unplugged it and they came running over and told us to put it back on.It kind of sucked. Buit if you look closely in the background while raedons playing im pretending to control it with a paddle.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

um, that's an old episode, 212. They've already been airing up through at least 217. Considering that 'Games that changed..' included possibilities like Crash Bandicoot, Goldeneye, Alone in the Dark, Everquest., I don't think what they would have been filming at CGE had to do with that.

Thanks for that Gavv. Saved me from taping an old episode.

Well then, after looking over all of the "Filterator" polls now up and running, it can only be one - "Best Old-School Console Games." The list features Intellivision, Vectrex, etc. This has gotta be it. However, it's show 302 and not even on the schedule through September. Sorry gang, but CGE footage might not air until late Fall.

Guys, you have to remember that it was at least 2 weeks before CGE2002 footage appeared on a segment of Pulse (the G4 weekly news show) at all. Other shows have longer lead times since they obviously aren't 'news' ^^. Just watch the Icons episodes over the past year, nearly all the ones involving classic games had interviews done at CGE2002.

gavv (who got a bit of screen time on g4tv.com last year from cge2002, and that very 'realtime' production schedule, it was still for the show 4 weeks later)

Hmmm I seem to remember being it the week right after but I'll take your word for it. That's what I figured anyway, if not this week.. then probably the next, or the next, etc.

well, remember that until the ep that aired 8/15 , they had been really deluging the air with their (imho lame) G-phoria (including their pulse special 'post gphoria' special, which served as their pulse show that week, 8/8-8/15), so they may have been backed up an extra episode. Since CGE is more of a 'set piece' it can probably be more easily bumped than 'news' like the goofy 3DO 'auction' etcetc.
