Default Is it possible to backup Genesis saves?

    Okay, here's the sitch.

I was gonna play Might and Magic: Gates to Another World, but before I did, I checked out my old characters. Now a thing about how this game works: It doesn't use individual save slots like Final Fantasy or something, but rather it just saves your characters. It's like Wizardry on the NES.

There's an option called "Initialize Game" whcih basically resets the game to the right-out-of-the-box state and I was gonna use this, but once I checked out my old characters I didn't want to. It would be like erasing an old diary you know?

So I was wondering if there's a way to backup this game's save data and transfer it to a computer hard drive. Anyone know a way?

Retrode is probably the easiest way today, but there are others, like the old cart dumpers that copied games and/or saves to floppy disks.

Thanks. I'll look into the Retrode.
