Thread: Wii U pro controller. Any cheaper options? Perhaps a Wii controller?

    As clearly shown, it's the original Classic Controller that had this expansion capability. The button in the middle at the top of the controller opens those slots on the rear so that something could be attached to it. But nothing ever took advantage of it, another in a long line of unused Nintendo expansion ports.

    Nyko put out a device that used it to hold the remote against the CC so you don't just have it dangling off that barely long enough cord.

    I never even took the twist tie off my Classic Controller's cable. I just leave the Wiimote sitting in my lap when playing with it.

    That's about all you can do with the cable even when it's untied.

    Has anyone tried either the datel or nyko wireless classic controllers? Are they any good?

    I've seen several positive posts about the Nyco Pro Controller for the Wii U like this one from the AVS forums several days ago.

    Personally though, I'm going to just pay the $50 or whatever the black 1st party version goes for one of these days.
