    Default Best 3D beateumup?

Though the genre mostly died after the 4th generation, there were some good ones after that, like Sengoku 3 and Guardian Heroes. What's the best 3D one?

My favorite is Die Hard Arcade. Used to play that every time at my mall arcade. Me and my friend actually beat it a few times. Glad to have a Saturn copy of it.

    God Hand.

It's only single player, but other than that it's awesome.

Really, there aren't many good ones. Aside from the three mentioned in this thread already, I would add Dynamite Cop (the sequel to Die Hard Arcade), Spikeout Battle Street, and maybe Gekido. That's pretty much it. As for my actual favorite, I second Die Hard Arcade.

In addition to Zombie Revenge, how about Dynamite Cop and Sword of the Berserk on the Dreamcast, and MadWorld on the Wii?

Urban Reign for ps2 is pretty good, I've heard The Warriors is good too.

The absolute best is Shenmue, work up all of Ryo's techniques and fight that 70 man battle at the end. Next to that is Spikeout Battlestreet, which has a truly challenging side step mechanic that enables the player to throw enemies into other enemies to prevent being surrounded. Most folks didn't give this game the time of day except online, which was absurdly easy and doesn't cause the player to do anything but button mash. Golden Axe Beast Rider this generation is better still with its parry and evade system along with the beasts and magic.

Short of these games, the Batman Arkham games have the best skill based group combat system. The Free Flow mechanic isn't anywhere near realistic, but it is quite challenging to master and enables the player to eventually fight infinite enemies without getting hit.

I'll second God Hand, it's one of my favorite PS2 games.

While not a pure beat em up, The Red Star (also PS2) is pretty good. It's part beat em up and part top down shooter.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. It's probably one of the best I've played.

For being grouped alongside the other quick diversions from the main game, Tekken Force mode in Tekken 3 is a surprisingly enjoyable 3D beat-'em-up. If there's a full fledged game that plays like Tekken Force, I'd love to find it.

I have something of a soft spot for Fighting Force on PSX, it's not a great game by any means but I do enjoy how smooth combat feels in this one. Taking into account the wacky inaccuracy of weapons aiming, blowing stuff up with the rocket launcher feels extra satisfying when pulled off.

How about the Dynasty Warriors series and its spin-offs? They're mostly a mix of brawler, RTS, and one-on-one fighter.

I'm gonna third Die Hard Arcade. Love that game sooo much. Gonna have to try Dynamite Cop.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

    Fighting force (PS1/pc)

Originally designed as a 3d streets of rage for the saturn, but when sega didn't give the license they renamed it.
It got shit rating, but i really enjoyed playing the game in co-op!

Other than that: Die hard arcade / dynamite cop

Try the teken force mode in tekken 6, best 3d fighter by far, with item collection and semi rpg elements.

    I've played that a bit.
I didn't think it was that great, but it's pretty much the only reason I ever play Tekken 6.

Gauntlet Legends / Dark Legacy are pretty great. Seven Sorrows, not so much.

I'd also say Power Stone 2 is quite close to the genre and is a great game too.

Cannon Spike would be somewhat appropriate as well.

There's also Ninja Gaiden. Surprised I forgot about that. Despite Beatemups declining, it seems that there are still decent ones around.

I thought Fist of the North Star - Ken's Rage was pretty fun.
