Collectables tend to be things that are unmolested. Once a system has been chipped etc its collectability drops. It may be more useable (ROMS and the like) but if I was collecting Xbox systems, I'd be looking for one that was mint, complete, un-touched.
People will think it's interesting as the Crystal unit was a Canadian only release and the mod chip would help up it's general value, but won't help the 'collectable' value.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
