Default This Controller Looks Like It is Made of Candy!

This is some crazy, Chinese-made game controller I found on an eBay auction. I didn't bid on it, I just though it was kooky enough to share with fellow classic gaming enthusiasts.

It is called the "Battle Pad" and it works with both Super NES and SEGA Genny with a dual connector. Look at those bright, candy-colored buttons! The transparencies. The huge swaths of white. And all those switches! You can even see the circuit board all around through the plastic shell... I know there are countless third-party controllers, but when you see one this garish you just need to show others.

Any other "ugly" controllers anyone wishes to mention? After all, with Canada Day & the U.S.'s Independence Day, 'tis the season for garish displays of color! (or colour )

So it's a good thing it's made out of candy?
Since we all know candy is made out of Pokemon!

I can't say if the response was bad or not. The last time I touched one was well over 15 years ago at a friend's house. I can say that it was horrifically uncomfortable and the D-pad confused my thumb with its rotated 45°-ness.

I used to have one of those! I bought it at Walmart in Oshawa, ON many many years ago. It worked great for both systems. it is HUGE however, when you're used to snes controllers.

Wow, both of the pads shown right now are funky. I'll tell you though, the Atari 2600 had some seriously scary looking stuff. You almost wondered at times if they were making controllers or torture devices. I'm sure several surgeons got some good money for Carpal Tunnel because of some of that crap!

Horrible colors (pink D-Pad???), nearly the size of an Xbox pad, and just overall not very good.

I bought it because the previous version, Striker for the Genesis, was my go to pad before the 6-Button pads came out. It actually looked decent, and was not ludicrously oversized, more like a regular Genesis 3-button but a little thicker and more form fitting in the hand. It also had a cool headphone extension cord built in, so you could sit way back and still use the headphone jack on the front of the model 1.

I barely used the Angler, fortunately shortly after getting it I got an ASCII pad, now that was the stuff.

That must have been a common shell. I had an SNES controller that used that exact same shell, only it wasn't transparent (it was a very pale gray), all of the colours were the same though. It had these weird slots on the back for your pointer fingers to rest in (I didn't rest my fingers in them though). It was easily my favorite SNES controller. I didn't think that it was ugly either.
It came with purple ministicks that fit into the D-pad. Two different type, IIRC.
