Insert Coin (Level 0)
Has anyone here played Ni No Kuni for the DS?
I have to say that this game is fascinating. You get an spellbook with the game which you very need since you have use the spells and has hints inside to help you out. The battles are turn based which you can switch out allies when they died when you need. There are creatures called "Imajinn" which are abit like Pokemon but you can feed them food they like , pet them, and play around.
Here's an trailer if anyone likes.

I've been considering importing this (last I checked, the DS version was still not scheduled for a US release). Would this even be playable without a strong understanding of the Japanese language?

Almost forgot you may want to get it brand new so you get the book.

Completed this a while ago, it's well worth importing it's such a charming game. The game is easy to read if you understand kana as all the kanji in the game have furigana above them so you can actually look up the words if you get stuck.
If your not able to read any japanese then some of the riddles you might find hard to work out, as they use the book heavily in the ds version. However i'd say theres only about 3 that are hard & there are the answers on gamefaqs. You get quite a bit of value in the game im at 56 hours playtime & theres still quests i haven't finished.
