Default Can anyone identify these two Sega Mega Drive games?

I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I am trying to track to Sega Mega Drive games.

1.) Was to do with a quest involving The Gods of Olympus. The main character had to fight a Hydra (in level 2 or 3) and could gain protective powers etc for Gods like Athena. One such blessing I believe was ambrosia (food of the gods)

2.) Was set in space (The Solar System) The player was a ship and visited the different orbits and had to fight off other ships etc.

    They were around pre-1995.

    Vague but can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Jay

The second one is probably Star Control. Star Flight was much more about finding resources than fighting.

I don't think I've played the first game, but it sounds like something EA might have released as an Amiga port early on. What was the gameplay like?

Are you sure the first game is a Genesis one? It sounds sorta like it might be Battle of Olympus on the NES.

It's even got a hydra boss and ambrosia like you mention.

Yes, it is The Battle of Olympus and was the NES not the Mega Drive. I don't know how I made that mistake. I'm guessing that the space game was an NES game too. Any ideas?

If the second one is also on the NES, I'd guess it's Gyruss.

Edit: If it was a light gun game, To The Earth is also a possibility.

Thanks for the suggestions. It isn't any of those space games but I'm sure it was the NES now. The spaceship travelled from planet to plaet in the solar system. I remember Saturn, Pluto, Uranus etc.

Ps. What was the name of the cool Ninja guy (dunno who created him) in the red karate outfit from the 1980s?

No, it wasn't any of those. It looked a little more advanced . You were a small spacecraft and missiles were fired. I really wish I could remember more about it.

#2 sounds like Gyruss. Nice port on the NES, but awesome in the arcade.

The red guy was Kid Niki! Must be the one.

Player 2 in Ninja Gaiden arcade was a red ninja. Ninja Warriors also had a red ninja.
