i was hoping for something good. wild west guns was a solid release. this game looks lame :^(
Break In actually looks pretty cool, but of all things, why would they release an import a pool sim? Just seems a little odd to me. But then again, some people collect Madden games, so what do I know?
No love for www.Homestarrunner.com / Strongbad?

This weeks Wiiware game is the following:
Midnight Pool-800 Wii points
the source is http://www.wiiware-world.com/news/20..._midnight_pool .
I will not be doing the next 2 Wiiware week updates. Someone else will need to do the updates on August 25th and September 1st.
I will be going on a 12 day trip starting later on this week. I will not have any internet contact as a result.
This week's vc releases are the following:
Megaman -nes 500 Wii points
Neo Turf Master -Neo Geo 900 Wii points
The source is http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/...o_turf_masters .
Megaman 1 should do download by the people that don't own the Nes version and don't don't like Megaman 1's control in the Game Cube Version of Megaman Anniversary.
Here is a gameplay video of Neo Turf Masters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fAqXiRt8sA .
There is no real reason to download Neo Turf Masters. Neo Turf Masters is on SNK Arcade Classics. You will be saving money if you are interest in more than one game on SNK Arcade Classics.. Every Neo Geo game is on some type of a collection so far or one that is coming out later this year.

Yes, Neo Turf Masters is a fun, fast-paced arcade golf game but not for $9 when the latest SNK collection can be had for less than twice that (saw the PS2 vers. for $15). IIRC most Neo-geo VC games are on that disc.
& Mega Man is too hard for me to enjoy, but I know it's a classic.

Europe got Super Mario RPG as a vc game tonight in North American time zones. The source is http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/...he_lost_levels .
I hope North American gamers will be getting this game soon since Europe has this game now.
This is my final Virtual Console update thread post before being gone starting tomorrow to the night of Spetember 2, 2008.

And what about other PC Engine imports like Gradius II or Rondo of Blood? That's probably Konami's fault, really. So why didn't we get either of those two well-known classics, and instead we get the bio-miracle game? Not that it's a bad game, it just doesn't make any sense?
The whole US VC lineup just doesn't make sense.
I don't know about,Rondo of Blood and yes it's been out in jpn for a while now for the vc.Still even if they were to release here it has to be aproved by noa frist.Dunno what konami does it puzzle me some times for what they release here.As for,Gradius II Gorfer wasn't that on the gradius collection for the psp ? That could be the reason why...they don't see having it on the vc for the u.s.Btw i still wounder if any of there genesis titles will show up on the vc at all.
I keep hopeing to see rocket knight adventure on it but nothing yet.
Would be nice since i haven't owned a genesis since the 90's.

Nabbed Y's Book I and II today. I had put like 12 games on the friggin' SD card to make it fit. Y's is a larger game than Star Soldier R, if you can believe it. (They must not have bothered to compress the red book audio. They should have.) Of course, just seeing the image of the goddess holding the crystal on the title screen got my juices flowing just as voraciously as this game did when I was in 7th grade. And Yuzo's soundtrack is still perfection. I don't think I've ever heard a better game soundtrack to this day. Pure bliss. For those of you who haven't played this, you ought to jump at the opportunity to try it on a decent TV with no load times or compatibility issues. My Duo no longer produces red book audio, so I'm pretty happy to have this.
Some news from VC-reviews.com:
In September, Hudson will release Cho Aniki and Final Soldier for the VC in NA.
http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/...ases_september
And there is the Japanese VC schedule for September:
Famicom:
Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Yokohama Minato Renzoku Satsujin Jiken (September 2nd)
Wagyan Land
Super Famicom:
Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana)
Space Invaders
Nintendo 64:
Mario Golf
Mega Drive:
Sorcerian
Forgotten Worlds
Hokuto no Ken
PC Engine:
The Ninja Warriors
Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: PC Bangai Hen (The PC Engine port of Super Dodge Ball)
Final Blaster
Mizubaku Adventure
http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/...september_2008
There's a lot of stuff in there that sounds great, but what interests me the most is the possibility of the Mega Drive version of Sorcerian making it over here. It'll probably never happen because of the extensive amount of Japanese text requiring translation, but it would be nice. I used to be a real Falcom nerd back in the 90's, and I bought Sierra's PC port of Sorcerian for about $10 on clearance in 1993. Sadly, I couldn't advance past the second level due to what Sierra told me was an "incompatibility with your video card. The program was written to be compatible with a Japanese video card." I was pretty bummed, and I've always wanted to play it through. I've tried the MD version via an emulator, but the menus were so full of Japanese text that I couldn't figure it out.
People should be happy again this week: Clu Clu Land is out! Oh yeah, and some game called Super Mario RPG.
