Default Counterfeit "US" Stadium Events Cartridges ?

An Member posted in the Nescenter.de Forum some photos from a US Stadium Events. However, I think it is a fake so that some peoples ripp off collectors with modified "PAL" Stadium Events and sell them for the higher "US" Price.

    Compare the photos.

1.) The production date code is 8811, it means the CIC is produced in the 11. Week 1988. Stadium Evtens is released 1987.

2.) Take a look to the solder points. It is a a PCB from an other NES game, the Mask-Roms are desoldered and swaped to the PAL Roms from Stadium Events.

3.) The Edges from the Sticker are not rounded off like from a original games. Label is reprint

Anybody can confirm me, if is really a fake and can take photos from a original US Stadium Events ?

    Greetings Markus

I don't think it is a modified PAL cart, but it is absolutely fake. There are glaring problems with both the label and the board. Anyone buying a SE from now on should be very weary and certainly demand good picts of the PCB. The next fakes may not be as obvious.

I can see why fakes would be produced... but each online sale of a Stadium Events is so high profile, I would think it pretty futile to try and slip one past people.

You are assuming that everyone checks message boards and such. There are plenty of collectors that just look at Ebay.

That is true. I had been collecting on ebay and Amazon for probably three years before I even knew about this site.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

Looking for: Majesco version of Sega Game Gear system w/ no sound/video problems. It's black and has a purple start button.

My myspace photo albums, including entire game collection except for some accessories
