Default Is the Halo Reach 360 worth 400 bucks?

Not trying to start any 360 vs PS3 debates, my 360 is the red Resident Evil special, no rrd so far... I was thinking of getting another 360 to set up at my folks place when I visit....

Is this the new 360 or just a modded case like the last Halo System Special?

It's the Slim, 250g System with custom sound effects and content. New Silver paint job, two controllers, and regular game.

If you consider the controller and game are $60 each, you're saving $20 plus getting the sounds perk.

You could just as easily get a 360 4GB Slim, Halo: Reach, an extra controller and a year of Live for $340 or so. No fancy paint job, but I don't think they'd appreciate it as much.

Personally, I think the Halo version is not worth it since I can't stand the color scheme and the sound effect feature is just dopey. Given the choice, I would get the shiny black slim for $300. Controllers are constantly going on sale and Reach will be under $40 in no time. The addition of HDMI, being super quiet, built-in wi-fi, being able to directly power Kinect and its reliability makes it the ultimate 360 in my opinion.

I personally would have purchased the Reach console, had I not already gone out and bought one of the 360S consoles prior to the announcement of this. Is it worth $400? Well, to each their own, but the retail price of everything in the box slightly exceeds $400, so they're not exactly marking everything up exorbitantly like they did with the Halo 3 console.

I would say if you're in the market for a 360, plan on buying Reach anyways, and happen to like the color scheme, go for it. Otherwise, it really doesn't matter much.

Silver consoles are sexy. Not sure if they're $400 sexy though.
