Dreamcast Light Guns

Howdy. I made the mistake of purchasing a Dreamcast light gun that didn't work.. so I returned it, for another one that didn't work. This time, I forgot to return it in time. Sigh.

So, the result of this annoyance is that I have a Dreamcast light gun with working trigger, but ridiculously bad and inconsistant aim. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this puppy and fix it, or, do I have a pricey hunk of plastic that might as well be thrown at the TV next time a commercial I hate comes on?

Mr. Ethical says go back to the store where it's "too late" and buy another one of the same model that works, and then return the non-working one in it's place for a refund or a second working light gun. Even if you're like Mr. Ethical and don't have any friends, a second light gun is great for playing HOTD2 John Woo style.
