I'm sorry, I should have quoted StoneAgeGamer. I meant to ask him if there was any update on his stock situation... at last update he was waiting to get SD cards in and then he'd be ready to sell his first batch.

SCD will play burned backups without hardware modification or bypass... AFAIK: The Everdrive cart can change the SCD bios so you can load import games that have problems being disk image edited/patched for region. Still need the SCD hardware and a game disk.

If you can load disk images from an SD card, I would really like to know that. If only for a chance at improved load times.

Somebody came up with a hacked/modified Sonic CD rom that runs on Genesis alone, but it's just one level, buggy as hell, and has no music.

Picked one of these up about a month ago and only wish I had done it sooner.

I found the compatibility much greater than either of the Powerpaks, with pretty much all of the trainers, translations, and pirate originals thrown at it working. The SMS compatibility is pretty good as well.

Really the only trouble I've ran into are EA games, and I'm sure there could be a simple checksum fix to get them working.

There are issues with roms that use EEPROM to save, and many EA games did. Though the Acclaim sports games will have worse issues than EA.

It doesn't play SegaCD games, you can use it to override the BIOS to play burned and import CD games. You still need the SegaCD module. The rom I referenced is a one-time project by someone, but as you can see, it's not worthwhile. As for the loading, I think firmware updates after that video have made it faster.

Presuming that the EEPROM issue could be solved with software updates, I have to say that the only thing keeping me from buying one is the possibility that the cart may be redesigned to incorporate the FM chip for Master System games.

We are close to releasing the EverDrive for sale on StoneAgeGamer.com. There will be 3 versions:

• Just-the-Board (Cheapest)
  This just comes with the EverDrive board.
• Do-It-Yourself Kit
  This version comes in a kit that you assemble and cut out yourself. It comes with a empty Sega Gensis cart shell with label cleanly removed, an EverDrive label that you can choose to stick on yourself if you'd like, a 4.5mm Gamebit and of course the EverDrive board.
• Deluxe (Most Expensive)
  This version comes already assembled and with holes already cut out. It also comes with a 2GB SD card and a 4.5mm Gamebit.

We have not nailed down pricing completely yet. All will ship for free to the U.S. The prices will be a little bit more than buying from him directly, but you will receive them much quicker and without the hassle of using Western Union. They will ship directly from our facility in the U.S. We have a very limited to supply in this first batch, but will be ordering a much greater quantity if they sell well.

I will keep you guys updated as soon as we have them listed on the web site and when pricing as been nailed down.

I've run into a few MS games that glitch or lockup, and I'm pretty sure it's not due to some problem with the file on my end.

Has anyone found a list of games with compatibility problems? I've looked at a couple forums here and there, most don't list specific titles but only list general issues.

Only game I've tried that hasn't worked is Megaman/Rockman, like I posted on the last page.

ROMs were extracted from a GoodSet Genesis archive I DL'ed about a year ago.

Rockman won't work due to the EEPROM issue. You'd need a patched/hacked ROM, if there is one.

By rockman are you guys referring to the same game as wily wars or is it something else?

Also, I'm super interested in this, but hate the idea of buying one and have a hardware revision come out later. I wonder if that's likely.

Yes, Wily Wars. Been meaning to try the Ninja Gaiden prototype dump also... It works, but very much not what I expected. A few graphical glitches during start screen and cinematic scenes.

Waiting would be prudent if you are only willing to buy one. I simply had to have one fast, and I'm willing to buy a second when improvement/revisions seem to have halted or a release hits that just about nails everything down. With a home system and a Nomad, you can get mileage out of two carts fairly easy. Even can run two at once if you have a multi-display game area... Just some ideas to float there, I'm not really pitching for this cart for reasons other than it's good and cheap.

I assume by OSG you mean Stone Age Gamer. No we did not have many, they all sold within about 16 hours of being put up for sale.

There are currently 50 more being made for us.

I played through this and didn't notice anything in particular, it could possibly be the version you are using? Do you know of any specific glitches you have encountered?

I know they were minimal, but I honestly can't recall specifics now... I'm not even sure if those minor glitches are the prototype games state or the flash cart or what.

I've had a Neo Flash cart for a few months and have had a real hard time getting anything to run on either my Genny 2 (w/Sega Cd 2) or my X'Eye. I never got the Sega CD bios to work right with either system either. The EverDrive looks incredible, but I'm skeptical about taking a chance with another Genesis flash cart after my troubles with the Neo Flash. So far though it sounds like a much better product.

The maker of the EverDrive said Gen/MD games will work with X'eye, but you may have to turn Hard Reset option for the EverDrive off in the Options menu.

The X'eye will not work with the Master System ROMs.
