Default Can I transfer PS1 Modchip to my PSOne?

OK, so I have an original large Playstation that has the port on the back. This model also has a modchip installed as I can boot CDr backups. I also have an UNMODDED PSOne unit, the more modern tiny revision. Thing is I also have one of those Gamehunter plug in devices that go into the port on the back of my original Playstation, this also allows the booting of PS1 Backups. So, since I can plug in the Game Hunter cartridge I do not need the modchip also. Can I transfer the chip into my PSOne? I've never done anytype of Playstation modchip install, is it easy and are there different instructions for different models?

If the chip is compatible with both, you can desolder and resolder.

Or you can dig up a cheap PSOne modchip and install it rather than risking TWO consoles...

There may be some incompatibilities as things in the PSone were shrunk down considerably. Lots of internal components were downsized or redesigned so it may not be possible to even connect your other PlayStation's mod chip.
