Anyone remember HUGO?

...or at least thats what i think the game was called, it was a graphic based adventure game but all actions were text based. i dont know why, i just woke up this morning like, jesus christ...i must find this game


heres what i remember...

1. i thinkkkkkk it would only run in windows 3.1, could have been a dos game, i dont really recall, i was only like 12 or something at the time, playing on a friends computer he got as a hand me down from an uncle or something.
2. i think you crash landed on an island or something and are looking for some chick, penelope maybe? the name just keeps ringing in my mind.
3. ummm this could be unrelated, or even possibly another game in a series, but i think i remember playing inside a haunted mansion as well.


anyway, assuming the game i am indeed thinking of is called hugo, how da hell can i go about playing that game again on xp or windows 7? as long as i can confirm the name of the game, im sure it shouldnt be that hard to find the game in torrents, but getting to run is another story entirely, also is there any way of getting it running in linux? (ubuntu)

Just get Dosbox for Windows and Linux and you'll be fine with the download link supplied above. Great games, classics all the way

Hugos House of Horrors is one of my favorite DOS games of all time. I have most of the game memorized. Scared the crap out of me when I was little though. Those are two different Hugo games though, same series :P
