Interesting. A lot more character than a regular iPod...

Awesome, now put a PSP inside of a SNES controller.

    Very clever!

I've lost track of the various iPods at this point though. If the Mini has a screen and can go to 16gb, what's the Nano?

I have an 8Gb Nano, and your project looks like it could have been my iPod in there.

The Nano is smaller and has a color screen and solid state memory. The Mini had a B&W screen and a small hard drive inside. I choose to use the mini for several reasons: It is easy to disassemble, the pads I need to solder to are large enough for me to hand-solder and the hard drive can be easily swapped for a CF card. The Nano's memory is soldered to the board and is impossible to upgrade.

Plus I can get Minis with bad hard drives on eBay for $20-$30.
