Default Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic: FREE this week on PSN

Thanks to the generosity of Sprint's marketing department, Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic is free to download on PSN this week only. It's Smash Bros meets Little Big Planet meets a lethal dose of psychoactive drugs. For the price of free, you can't beat that.

I downloaded it. I've played it a bit. I don't like it too much, and now it's tainted my trophy list. Maybe I'll give it a second shot, but I'd rather get some free Wheel of Fortune.

I actually bought this about a month ago :/

It's an okay game. I liked the graphics and music, and the "catch the fish" mode is pretty fun.

On the bad side, the motion controls can get a bit wonky, and it could use some sort of online multiplayer.

Better than I thought it would be, better than the pc version imo.

Thanks for the heads up. Downloaded it earlier today, but have yet to play it. Looks alright, might be good for some laughs.

After giving it a second chance, it's not TOO bad once you get used to the overly difficult controls, but I'm still glad I didn't spend any money on it. There are way too many buttons and actions being used for such a simple game. And why are there two different buttons for pick up and throw? And how come when I pick up a weapon, I can't just press punch to use it? No, you have to waggle the right analog stick. It's completely non-intuitive to me.

As far as the motion controls, I'm not crazy about them either. You have to shake the controller a lot, and you might accidentally do a "Firefly" attack when you mean to do a "Slam" attack or something like that. And the challenge where you have to do Firefly like 100 times without hitting the ground, oh my God, my arms are tired after doing that. And at least half the time I tried to do a "Meditation" by flipping the controller, it didn't register correctly. Very annoying when your meditation fails in the heat of survival mode or something similar.

I haven't tried true multiplayer yet, but at least I killed an afternoon doing the challenges and getting trophies. I earned gold in all of the challenges except Firefly and Juggling. Firefly I might be able to do if I let my arms rest. I came pretty close to beating that one. Juggling just seems impossibly difficult. Screw it. I guess I'm not getting a gold trophy.

I agree with Neil that "Catch the Fish" is probably the most surprisingly fun part of the game. Fish doesn't emphasize brawling too much, which is probably best since the fighting itself for the whole game is pretty shallow, and it adds a new twist to fighting/platforming kind of games. Plus, different maps put the fish bucket in different places which changes up the strategy.
