Argh, that reminded me of the fact that I need a CIB copy of Earthbound. Last copy I bid on went for $328.33. The cartridge on the manual is 'Buy it Now' for $150. Crazy.

I generally don't like RPG's that much but Chrono Trigger was pretty great. That's my top 5.

So PS II is really that great? I thought IV was the best in the series after reading several reviews.

    -Persona 4
    -SMT 3: Nocturne
-Subarashiki Kono Sekai (World Ends With You)
    -Paper Mario

    Some of my favs:

Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD) - I only like the new cutscenes and the expanded storyline from the PSX/Saturn remakes
    Lunar: Eternal Blue (Sega CD)
    Xenogears (PSX)
    Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
    SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 (PS2)
    Persona 3 & 4 (PS2)
    Tengai Makyo IV (Saturn)
    Paper Mario (N64 and Gamecube)
    Chrono Trigger (SNES)
    Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn)
    Dragon Quest VIII (PS2)

If we are including action-rpgs, then I would also add:
    Legend of Zelda: LttP (SNES)
Ys I & II Complete (PC)
Ys The Oath in Felghana (PC)
    Ys III (PS2)
    Ys IV (PC-E)
Mika: Where are you taking me, Gillian?
Gillian: To look at videos on YouTube...
Mika: *sigh* No more videos of a drunk Harry dancing with a dead Snatcher...
Giliian: Nope, it's better...Its LiquidPolicenauts YouTube Videos!
Gillian: And after that, you should also visit

    2. Chrono Trigger (snes)
    3. Lunar: SSS (sega cd/psx)
    4. Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Starrs (snes)
    5. Final Fantasy IX (ps1)

    Hard to pick five...

    Panzer Dragoon Saga
Lunar (all of them, save Dragon Song)
    Chrono Trigger
    FFVI, VII
    Shadow Hearts (1 & 2)
    Persona 3 & 4
    Tales of Symphonia, the Abyss

There's a number of others that I really like, but those are basically my favorites.

Some on my "to play" list:

    Suikoden
    Earthbound (playing it now, actually)
Ys: Book I & II (TGCD)
    Albert Odyssey
    Dragon Force
    Skies of Arcadia
    Phantasy Star (first one, SMS)
    Xenosaga 2 & 3
    SMT: Nocturne
    SMT: Digital Devil Saga
.hack//GU (played a bunch of Vol. 1, but set it down)

    etc.

Am I weird for not liking Xenogears, yet liking Xenosaga well enough?

Fallout 2, PC ... few games are as deep.
Final Fantasy Legend II, GB ... a long-standing favourite.
King's Field 2, PSX ... an incredibly immersive experience.
