Issue with ejecting on a Laseractive

I just picked up a Pioneer CLD-A100 Laseractive at a garage sale for $40 with the sega pack. It works okay, but for a problem with it ejecting. The tray will move a couple millimeters and then go back to closed. I'm wondering what could be causing it to do that.

I had a Pioneer LD player that I had to "help" open after hitting the eject button. It's a pretty common issue on LD players actually.

There's actually an odd fix that worked with mine. My tray did the same thing after I moved.

Eject the CD tray first - then back in. Do this about twice. Than the Laserdisc tray should eject just fine. Now that I've been using mine more (like, every day) the tray doesn't stick.
