Chuck-
I just finally got to check out the video of Johns collection. It looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing your video for Ground Control. I can't believe the shows only like 3 1/2 weeks away.
Okay, this is going to be unbelievably specific, but if you're headed to Retro Gaming Expo 2009 *AND* are thinking about selling an NWC, let me know. I'm in the market and would like to make an exchange in person.
Auction sounds like fun, guessing some of that stuff is from Gerald?

Gerald, the owner of that item, told me the story. I'm sure he can fill in the details, but my recollection is that it was a promotional item available only in Taiwan. I think you had to buy a bunch of Sanrio merch or something to get it.
It's a legit XBox, still in the package - not a casemod or replacement case. Apparently only a very small number were ever produced.
I'll see if I can get Gerald to provide some pics.
I'll be posting more info on the site about the auction items within the next day or two.

I thought that there was a small run of these made. The one that Gerald has it totally legit and is in great shape.

That's the rumor, but no one has ever been able to confirm the number produced (if any were sold at all). Mine was found in the US, and i'm guessing this one was too.
The press release announcing the console came out on april 1st 2003, so a lot of people thought it was a joke. It took 5 years for even a photograph of the console to show up.
No one can find any evidence that the promotion ever took place, and no one in Microsoft can even confirm that the console was produced (even though i'm holding one). The serial number is asian, so they can't track it here.
After I saw Gerald's the last time I was up there I did some digging and talked to a friend in Singapore who definitely saw the promotion run. He was pretty sure that it was not technically bundled with a TV, just a purchase amount. Will try to provide more details... can you send some higher res pictures of the box? I can get the text translated.

Chuck, just wanted to clarify something on my Aquarius that is going to be in the auction. I only have one game for it. It is boxed, but the listing shows that it comes with multiple boxed games which it does not. I don't want anyone to be disappointed when it comes up with only one game.
Thanks
