Default Famicom Handbills/Flyers in my home office...

I got around to framing and hanging, what I consider, some of the best Famicom Handbills that I have.

I think it turned out real nice.. what do you all think?!

You can also see the rest of the Handbills that I don't have framed here:

    Thanks,
    Carl

Very nice. I'm curious about these "handbills" since I've never seen them before. Were they included with Famicom games or something?

Not games, but a few were distributed in some Famicom and/or Disk Systems. Most of them were given out in Japanese game stores 20+ years ago to promote the sale of said game.

A lot of the ones I have on my wall are quite rare and cost a bit of money. Super Mario USA being probably the rarest. This title was made in 1992 well after the SNES release in Japan and therefore didn't get many flyers printed.

I have some in my store if anyone wants to start their own collection.

    They're beautiful!

(For anyone who wants to do it the cheaper way, just get a bunch of old Japanese magazines, and cut out any good-looking ad page. )

    Thanks all!

Also, I don't think some of the ads in old Japanese magazines are near as good looking!

Ah, very cool. Somehow I was never aware of this. I have been collecting various arcade flyers over the years so I'm not too surprised with the prices, more desirable arcade flyers also fetch similar figures.

I've considered framing some of my own arcade flyers and I am assuming your handbills are the standard flyer size (8.5x11 inches), so I'm curious.. Where did you get your frames? More importantly, how much did they cost?

They are indeed standard A4 international paper size (8.25" x 11.75" -- slightly different than our letter size here in the US)

I got my frames at Michaels Craft Store. They are called float frames (size 11" x 14") and cost $16.99 each + tax.

    Thanks,
    Carl

So you got your degree from SUPER MARIO USA? A cousin of mine went there.

Maybe you'd like to donate Castlevania, CV2 Simon's Quest, Ninja Gaiden 2, and the Dragon Warrior ones to me? ^_^

Jk. But yeah. I love those games so who wouldn't want to have them. Always been a big Dragon Warrior and Castlevania fan.

I am a pretty big DW/DQ fan myself. I do have an extra DQ flyer in my store at www.famicomshop.com if you are interested in purchasing. The DQ flyers are 4 page fold-outs and actually have a map in the middle.

    Thanks,
