The switch also suggests they may be planning more game beyond the formerly titled Project Origin.

Irregardless, if the game is as good as its predecessor it does not matter.

Sweet. We get to keep "F.E.A.R. 2" and "Project Origin" both in the same title. Win-Win.

So what happened to the Sierra-developed FEAR 2? Canceled for sure or being rebranded? Who was developing it, anyway? Was it being developed by TimeGate or someone else entirely?

Can't wait for this sucker and I'm looking forward to seeing how far it goes to bridge the gap between F.E.A.R. and Shogo.

Good news indeed. While Project Origin wasn't the worst name ever, I would still much rather have the actual name of F.E.A.R. 2 for continuity purposes.

Yea but they held a contest for the fans to choose the name. Being able to keep that in addition to keeping "FEAR 2" (so as not to confuse everyone else) along with being able to keep the current marketing train on track is just a win win win win win win for everyone.

It's sad to see Sierra sink into merger oblivion, but at least something good came out of it. I hate when series take bizarre name changes and u-turns for no good reasons.
