This is neat, but I've seen more impressive collections here on DP.

I wonder if they have Outback Joey, or a Blockbuster competition cart.

I would have expected something a little more organised. I'm sure it really would be best if all those stacks of games were on shelves.

However, as cool as all the retail stuff is, I want to be let loose in there with a debug Saturn and a Katana to see what's on all those CD/GD-Rs.

But where are all the PCBs and Naomi carts/GDs? I only hope that somewhere Sega have every arcade PCB/Cart/GD they've ever created stored away, along with one of every Sega cab. I'd hope there's a warehouse somewhere in Japan with all this stored away. Mint condition Astro Citys, Aeros, Aero Tables, Blast Cities, all the Driving cabs and a row of every Naomi configuration.

^Ditto. While I'm sure there are more complete Sega collections here on DP. I guess I'm just impressed SoA even HAD game archive/library, much less letting anyone outside the company ever see it. In addition, they are trying to go somewhere with it, with public/semi-public rentals. Kudos to them!

It's entirely possible that some of you would have cardiac arrests if you saw the media archive at my work.

Amidst the stack of games lie a localized version of SeGaGaGa, ready to be published but unfortunately never saw the light of day.

...hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

Holy sheezus. I kind of figured that a place like All Media would have a vast library of media, but I guess I didn't expect it to be all on hand at once. Do you guys have a rental policy?

Has it all been converted to a digital format or is it just in a physical format only? Is there the same vast archives for movies and games as there is music?

wow, its amazing, but its really not organized that nicely to be honest. Some of the stuff was clearly just thrown somewhere or smashed in a shelf where it fit.

Is that all music cds in that storage room cav?

The nintendo vault is what i really want to see.

Nintendos complete collection would be worth so much more than segas.

I just picture chrono triggers, 100's of copies all sealed on a shelf? Ahh, lol.

I think that storage room has every game ever on their list. So that takes the cake.

Gapporin: "Holy sheezus. I kind of figured that a place like All Media would have a vast library of media, but I guess I didn't expect it to be all on hand at once. Do you guys have a rental policy?"

Yes, but it's an exclusive membership! Actually, technically the policy is that once something hits the archive it can't come back out unless there is something wrong with how the data was entered or a bad scan didn't get caught. However, the three departments (Movie, Music, Games) hangs onto the more recent releases and filters them back into the archive. I keep a large stash of games in my work area in two three-drawered (lockable) cabinets.

garagesaleking: "Is that all music cds in that storage room cav?"

The drawers that you see contain music CDs. On top of the drawers in the boxes are DVDs that have been removed from their cases and placed in manilla envelopes. What you can't see are the video game boxes on the back wall, although due to space concerns most had to be taken to offsite storage. I'm now winding up a project where I had to check the data, etc... of all 14,000+ games in the archive. Every single one of them have crossed my desk. It's pretty wild to think about my job sometimes. Anyway, that's just a little insight to my job.
