Default Mega Man III is a horrible, horrible game.

That's what the author of this article says.

SPOILER: He's talking about the PC version.

It was an interesting read. Good find by the way.

Although I always liked Mega Man 3, I do agree with alot of what was said.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

Very interesting that Shark Man's level was a level rip-off of The Little Mermaid's sunken ship. And that fish looks like one out of the Night Sea level of Little Nemo.

Just because a lot of 12-year-old fanboys loved Capcom was not a reason for the company to grant two of them a development license.

Re: The spoiler, I was 100% sure it was that the moment I read the thread title.

sean baby reviews stopped being funny about 3 years ago.

I bought the game back in the day, where it wasn't quite up to capcom levels of quality, it was still a pretty fun game to play considering what pc gaming was at the time. (certainly alot more playable then the street fighter port)

    It's hard, but I don't think that it's horrible.

I played through the PC version when I was kid. It was actually my first Mega Man game. I'm only just now playing through all the NES games (just finished 1-5, playing 6 now) and it's amazing the difference in quality between the versions.

PC games have become such big budget affairs that it's impossible for companies to pull that crap. Besides, you can just Google the game's name and find out within seconds if it's any good. But back in 1992, such production values and instant gratification eluded us. The only way we could begin to tell if a game was good or not was by reading a write-up in a Scholastic/Arrow flyer or by reading the back of the box at Egghead Software. Thank God that times have changed.
Probably the best bit in the article. Was amusing, but I started to skim by the second level.

Yeah, I used to have it too. A friend of mine gave it to me for free back in '96 or so. I still had it until a few years ago when the disk got corrupted somehow (it was 10+ years old after all...).
I never really cared for the game itself, but it was an interesting curiosity piece. I didn't read the link yet, but hopefully they explain it was published by hi-tech expressions, the same folks responsible for 'hits' (perhaps $hits?) like 'Muppet Adventure' for the NES and 'We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story'.
Needless to say, I never finished it.

This looks better than Mega Man (PC) that was released in 1990. Just take a look at this crap.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXvQQZwKE1I

I used to play it over at my grand parents house on their DOS computer. Used to take me an hour to load the damn thing.

This is why I am a console gamer.

At least its better than Mega Man 1 for PC, which only had THREE ROBOT MASTERS.

Okay, maybe its not such an improvement.

Oh man... MM1 looks HORRIBLE. I seriously just 'ed when I saw the boss select screen. Were the bosses drawn by a 2nd grader? I love the total lack of real animation they give them, too.

I remember playing this. It was that bad, except the bosses where harder to fight because of my PC (Unless you're playing on a 386, it runs too fast)

Man, I had this funny juvenile post all lined up where I was gonna say (without even knowing who the author was yet):

Mega Man III is a Horrible, Horrible Game
    "Yeah, well, you have AIDS!"

Then I realized it was SeanBaby and said to myself, "Oh crap. Not fair to make fun of *real* AIDS patients."

EDIT, ok, ok, I know it's not Sean, but that woulda been really funny, right? Right?

i have it on my desk. It was awful. Jump with J, and move with the arrow keys! Reverse hands...it just sucked. I found a few grammatical errors while on the can reading the manual.

Oh man, I completely forgot about the whole "jump with J" aspect.
    Again... what a terrible game.

Wow, thanks for posting that link. Mega Man for DOS was garbage.

How come in 1990, a $100 NES was able to produce fantastic audio, but a $2,000 computer was only able to produce Atari-2600-quality audio?
