    Default Collection software - Anyone?

Not sure where to post this but besides using wordpad or Excel, does anyone use any sort of software to keep track of their collection. I read about a software called Collectorz that costs $30 but it has photos and details of the games. Just curious on everyone elses take.

I used to use access, and a custom java app I wrote to create a list for listpro on the pocket pc, and it would generate my html pages. Since converting to a Mac late last year I converted my data to work with gamepeida, and then converted my custom software to work with the xml that gamepedia uses to store it's data. If you have a mac it's a great piece of software, free upgrades, great support, I usually get an answer the same day. They also make pedias for DVDs, CDs, and books. You can use a cuecat to scan the bar codes of software and it looks them up.

    Joe,

I downloaded the trial version and it is a nice program. It was really nice to just search for your game and it bring up the photo of the box and a description.

Also, I guess you can use a Cue Cat to scan barcodes to search as well.

I am currently writing one. I have been working on it for the past 2 weeks. I made a thread about it, so here we go:
    http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121195

I am also making this software with more than me in mind. I am completely open to suggestions as I am making this.

Right now, you can sign up (it is free), and then you can add games and systems. I am going to be working on displaying the collections tonight.

The main part that will just list off the games will be pretty easy and straight forward, but I am going to put some pretty advanced ways of fine tuning for stuff as well.

Since this is all web based, it is cross platform compatible (windows, mac, unix/linux). It is also written with php, css,js,html so thatyou don't have to download any java stuff.

I am not knocking anything else that anybody has done, I am sure it is all awesome. I am just posting this up so that you know that I am currently building one as well, and that as I go, I will definately implement your guys' recomendations for it
