Default Tips for buying on Amazon?

I'm looking for alternatives to eBay. I hear a lot of things about Amazon, but when I looked at some of their game listings, I noticed none of them had pictures. I'm basically trusting that the seller is giving an accurate description of the item. As a collector, this gives me pause.

Can anyone here share any advice? Is it generally cool to trust people on Amazon?
I only need 2 more NES games (US)!

I have bought some games on Amazon. So far so good. I usually buy from the sellers who give very detailed information on the items. I wouldn't bother with the sellers who don't even give info on the condition of the item (fair, good, mint, etc).

I use the same rules as ebay or anything else for that matter. Ask questions, see if there is valid feedback, know what you want to pay and search familiar territories before using uncharted ones.

Every single time I've bought from Amazon marketplace it has been from some store that doesn't ship for a month, despite telling me repeatedly that the item has already been shipped. I assume used CD/Gme stores sell used stuff, then wait until someone sells it to them, then ship it. This usually amounts to at least three weeks before the item is even shipped.

Hint for sellers: When you get off your crooked and actually ship the item, the date it was shipped is on the postmark.

You can sell stuff on Amazon, sure, if you don't mind paying their insanely high sale fees. That's the main reason why everything there is so damn expensive.

That's odd. A lot of the NES games I was looking at today were dirt cheap, way cheaper than eBay prices.

Yeah, this accurately sums up a majority of my buying transactions there. I really don't use it anymore, except when a friend or family member insists I buy something there for them because they have a coupon or something.

Yeah, same here. I've also had my orders canceled without any warning or explanation. I'll pay and then two weeks later get an email that my money has been refunded.
