Default Sega CD Model 1 Question

    Hey guys,

I got a quick question, does the model 1 sega cd (the autoloader one) have any cables to hookup with the genesis (other then the power supply) or does it just plug into the genesis and that's it? Thanks!

Plug and play. Attach it to the expansion on the side of the Genny and you're ready to go. Requires its own power supply but it looks like you know this.

And if you're not familiar with the operation of a model I CD: Push the Reset Button on the Genny console to open the tray, and push the Start button on the controller to close it. I myself just learned this a week ago after fixing a broken unit I'd had for a couple of years.

There is a 'mixing' cable for stereo sound that goes from the headphone jack of a model 1 Genesis to the mixing port on the SegaCD. Other than that there aren't any other cables that connect the two.

Optional, but not necessary for general use. I don't know if there's a Sega-specific one, but you could easily find something at Radio Shack or Best Buy that would accomplish this end.

Yeah, I should have said that it is only required if you want the stereo sound for your Genesis games (the way I understand it), and I don't think it can be used and it isn't needed with a Gen2. I believe sega packed one of the cables with the model 1 SegaCD, but I don't think it has any identifying markers. I think it did have a ferrite ring on it, though. Any 'headphone' jack cable will work (male-male), forgot the name of that kind of plug.
