Target/Sears/Best Buy/Toys R Us/Kmart Discount and Clearance Video Game Sales

This mornings trip to Target didn't show me too much except people like to buy Clearance stuff at Target after Thanksgiving. Here's what I found:

Uncharted (PS3) - $29.98 (finally coming down - gonna get this one when it hits $14.98)
Golden Axe: Beastrider (PS3) - $14.98
Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360) - $14.98
Pirates of the Caribbean: Worlds End (360) - $9.98

So, I have a question, is DMC4 that crappy? I don't have it, but am thinking of getting it since it's this low and is at final clearance prices.

The reason I asked about the DMC4 is because it's been on clearance for a couple of months and they have literally 25-30 copies sitting there at $14.98! So, you start to wonder....

Also spotted another copy of Kirby Squeak Squad at $20.98.

PSP:

360:
Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End - $9.98

Picked up Medal of Honor Airborne (360) toady for $13.98 at Target. They had a ton of other new clearance games they just put out but I only was looking for the 360 ones.

I did see Silent Hill Homecoming (PS3) for $29.98 and the PS3 special edition of GTAIV for $61.98. Also saw a DDR Universe 2 bundle for either $29.98 or $39.98 (I'm pretty sure it was $29.98 though).

My Target got rid of all the PS3 GTA special editions without ever clearanced them. Today they still had a truck load of Devil May Cry 4 for $29.98. And Uncharted is still at $41.98. X-men Legends 2 for Gamecube is $10.98(it's cheaper at Sears).

Also, every store has now lowered the price of the Orange Box on both the 360 and PS3 to $19.99. Thats funny because I got a copy for the PS3 for $14.98 at Target about 6 months ago. And the weirdest thing at my Target today was a copy of Gears of War clearanced for $27.98.....although I got a clearanced copy from there last week for $19.98

Went back today to check on the clearance items and there was only one Uncharted left at $29.98 and the Golden Axe were all gone! Too bad, I was going to get that one. A guy at GS told me that Uncharted has been released as a greatest hit and thats' why the price is coming down?? Anyone seen these?

The Target I mentioned in my last post had several copies at DMC4 at that price as well.

Saw 360 Civilization Revolution for $29.98, and they had most of their PSP stock (if not all) at $13.98.

Well, a lot of the clearance games at my Target are getting scooped up for Christmas, so there's not a ton left, but here's what I say:

Namco Fighting Collection (3 games) for PS2 - $14.98
Elite Beat Agents (DS) - $7.48 (i got two for Xmas presents)
Patapon for PSP - $13.98
Daxter for PSP - $13.98
TMNT (xbox 360) - $20.98
Devil May Cry 4 (360) - still $14.98, and still 30 copies on the shelf

Unfortunately, the Golden Axe (PS3) and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (PS3) were all gone, as I apparently waited one week too long to add them to my collection...

I went to another Target and they still have two Uncharted's for $29.98. I'll keep my eye on them, as I'm waiting for $14.98 on that one. The Golden Axe's have all dried up locally apparently.

Ditto. And that also goes for Ninja Gaiden 2. It's still $29.98 when you can find it. I would definitely scoop up DMC4 and NG2 if they were $14.98 each.

I'm going to check my two local Targets tomorrow and Thursday when I go to work. Hopefully I find something good, but like you said earlier Deadman--many of the clearance games are getting picked up as x-mas gifts by all those shoppers. During the rest of the year we don't have nearly as much competition but now it's hit or miss.

I picked up Phantasy Star Universe for the PS2 for $14.99 at Target yesterday. Too bad they didn't have the 360 version or the expansion pack.

I was considering picking up Ninja Gaiden II, but I want to know if it has an easy mode (Ninja Dog) like the first one. Loved the game, but I could only get through it on easy...

Basically, the whole clearance section is becoming just a few titles, very few duplicates of each, as the world realizes that cheap games are still fun!

Mine does that too but they restock it atleast once every two weeks with stuff from the back and stuff that doesn't sell. How else could a copy of Fear for the 360 suddenly appear in the clearance section for $19.98 when the game hasn't been sold in this particular Target for atleast a year?
