Default Blockbuster's Buy 1, Get 1 Free Sale on $14.99 and under

I didn't see this anywhere, but Blockbuster's having a buy 1, get 1 free sale for all previously viewed games under $14.99. This is a good time to pick up more cheap PS2, GameCube and Xbox games and even a few 360 games at that price (I saw Earth Defense Force and Top Spin 2 for $9.99).

Today, I bought more games I won't play for months and don't have room for storing:

Brave: The Spirit Within (PS2, complete) - $9.99
Super Dragon Ball Z (PS2, complete) - free (originally $6.99)
    Flatout (XB, complete) - $9.99
Ghost Rider (PS2, complete) - free (originally $9.99)
    Psychonauts (PS2, complete) - $14.99
    Spider-Man 3 (PS2, complete) - free (originally $9.99)

At $36 and some change, I don't think I did too badly. Psychonauts was mint, but unfortunately Spider-Man 3 was pretty scratched on one side, even after looking at 3 different copies. I suppose Psychonauts never actually got played.

BTW, anyone got any official replacement PS2 Amaray cases with the memory card holders in 'em? I got stuck with the crap Blockbuster cases on 4 out of 5 of the PS2 games.

Yeah, I went there last weekend and picked up 8 games for $30. My only complaint is that there were a ton of stickers on the cases and some of them were a real bitch to get off since they slapped 4 or 5 stickers on top of each other. But considering they had some decent recent games like Tony Hawk's Project 8 for $5, I can put up with having to bust out the Goo Gane.

You could try asking them if they have any extra. I know they used to throw them out on a regular basis (because I pulled them out of the dumpster), dunno if they still do that.

Good to hear about the sale. I was in a Blockbuster Sunday and they had Pikmin and Metal Slug 4 & 5. Guess I'll have to pick them up now!

You and me too, brother. I'm going to continue looking this weekend in the other Blockbuster stores in my area before Monday when the sale supposedly ends.

I checked this out with a friend of mine on Sunday night. Slim pickings, but my friend got Guilty Gear X (PS2) and Just Cause (Xbox), both complete for $9.99.

Speaking of 360 games, I did spot Kameo and Chromehounds among the non-sports stuff (along with Earth Defense Force). Kameo was $9.99 and I don't remember how much Chromehounds was.

Chromehounds is $9.99. I saw that one too, but I already own it.

I found out about this sale last week but there was nothing worth buying. All the Blockbuster stores around here haven't had any decent used games since they stopped offering those great Gamerush trade-in deals a couple years ago. Usually the only stuff that gets traded in now are mostly TRU and Circuit City clearance games that the CAG kids flip for double what they paid on them.

The only game I wanted at my Blockbuster's was Metal Slug Anthology, but because it was $19.99, the sale didn't apply to it

Buy Earth Defense Force! You won't regret it at that price. And really shouldn't at any price, unless you don't like videogames maybe.

Forgot to mention that I also saw one Wii game: Spongebob Squarepants: Creature From The Krusty Krab for $14.99.

I'll have to check out a couple blockbusters since I know I've seen some decent games I haven't pulled the trigger on because of price.

If you haven't ever or yet, please, play Psychonauts!

Along with Beyond Good and Evil, and Indigo Prophecy, Pyschonauts is one of the best PS2 era games that too few people have played.

And they also have Xbox ports, which are likely technically superior in framrate, etc. Indigo Prophecy is also fairly censored in the US release. Good games though!

Took advantage of this last night...got Graffiti Kingdom(PS2) for $10, with Xyanide (Xbox) being the free game.

    Right.

Any way people can play them - they should.

If you're on the European side of things, Fahrenheit (AKA Indigo Prophecy) is better there.

That sounds like my local Goodwill. Except that they have a bunch of worthless Genesis sports titles instead of DS games.

I actually found some decent stuff today:

Arc The Lad-End Of Darkness ($10)
Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol.1 (Free)
    Graffiti Kingdom ($10)
    Murakumo (Free)
    Chicago Enforcer ($10)
    Eternal Darkness (Free)

I passed on a free Silent Scope Complete and Atlus Pro Fishing Challenge because they were missing the manuals. Was glad to pick up that Eternal Drakness though. Now I can put my sealed copy up on Ebay.

I hit two more Blockbusters and found a few more games:

    First store:
    Bard's Tale (PS2, complete) - free
    Juiced (XB, complete) - $6.99
    Outrun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast (XB, complete) - $6.99
Tecmo Arcade Classics (XB, complete) - free
    World Championship Pool 2004 (PS2, no manual) - $6.99
    Xyanide (XB, complete) - free

    Second store:
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (XB, complete) - $9.99
Tony Hawk's Project 8 (XB, complete but PS2 manual) - free

I'm going back to the second store to see if they have a manual for the Xbox version.

Does anybody have a manual for World Championship Pool? Please?

People who bought 4 or more games....how are they ringing you up? I thought they're supposed to charge for the highest priced games and use the lowest priced ones as the freebies. Like if you have two $10 games and two $5 ones, they'll charge you for the $10 games and ring the $5 games up as free.

People on CAG are saying that they're supposed to ring up 2 of the highest priced games at a time, THEN scan the promo coupon. I went to 3 different Bolockbuster's and only bought 2 per store, so I never found out for sure. So which is it?

Honestly, I don't know. One thing about CAG is that the members can always find some way to exploit a register or online glitch, but I didn't notice anything strange about how they were ringing me up. When I bought titles with two different price points, it always charged the higher ones on the receipt ($6.99 versus $4.99).

When I got games from them, they'd ring up two games of the same price, and then use the sale SKU to take off one of them.

I got 4 more games from them today: Splinter Cell Double Agent, Raiden III, Hitman Blood Money and Test Drive Unlimited. Pretty good haul for $30, even though only Raiden III was complete.
