X68000 questions
Hello all,
I have finally managed to lay my hand on a nice Sharp X68000 for a decent price (as the power supply was blown, it is being repaired right now).
No keyboard yet, so if anyone has one for sale, let me know.
Two important questions:
- does anyone have a pinout of the monitor connector? As I understand it is possible to connect an Amiga-type monitor or a VGA one with an appropriate adapter.
- I ahve received a CD containing some X68000 floppy images, but I ahve no idea how to transfer those to the physical media. I can get a PC with a 5.25" drive, but what tools do I use to write the image back?
Thanks!

gamesx.com has the x68000 video pinout. It's the same as most Japanese computers. I think the X68000 supports three different video outputs ranging between 15khz and 31khz. Most games book up in 31khz mode which works fine with most VGA monitors, but for 15khz you'd need an Amiga or old NEC Multisync monitor.
I've copied x68000 images to disk before, but I can't remember where I got it from. I think the utility is in Japanese, I had to babelfish the readme file before I could figure out how to make it work. I also had to try a couple floppy drives before I found one that worked. You might want to ask around on the x68000 message board on gamesx.com
