How about Saturday, Jan 5th, 12th, or 19th? I will be free for all three.
thegardentool: You mention you tend to be busy during the first weekend of the month. Should we skip Jan 5th and go straight to the 12th or 19th?
roushimsx: Is your 1-5 schedule flexible if you know this far in advance?

Any of those days work fine for me. So, whatever works for everyone else is cool.
Well I'm not sure about even later in the month in January but can hope to find out more this week. They are scheduling some training for the 45th Fires Brigade to go through in January for their possible deployment to Iraq in late 2008. Whenever they can give me hard dates I can let you guys know. I'm thinking it should be the last two weeks of January.
I don't post here at DP mutch...I post a ton on AA...
Anyway...I'm in Edmond![]()
I'm a little bit late on this, but I'm also from Oklahoma (OKC) and I'd totally be down for an Okie meet up!!! I don't post here much, but I do lurk a lot.
I'll try my hardest to be there! I'd defintely be down to meet up with some like-minded people.
Any of those dates should be fine, I can ask off from work.
I think it is Jan. 5-17 that I'm not available. Most weekends after that will be fine.
So when ARE we meeting, so I can make sure I'm scheduled off to make it?
The 12th works fine for me. Just let me know where we'll all be meeting up and what to bring.
The 12th is fine for me!! Just let me know where to go and what time.
If it's the 12th, I may have to pass. There's a SuperAuctions arcade auction in Dallas on the 12th that I may/may not be attending. So little time, so many things to do!
I completely understand if you guys have to do it while I'm gone on work-related "work".
As soon as I took this yearlong fulltime National Guard job I knew my social life was going to be shot. I work Tuesday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and "overtime" as needed. I'm on salary so overtime doesn't help me at all. :-\
On a side note, does anybody have a cheap arcade in the Oklahoma City metro area for sale? I've been eyeing a 2-slot Neo Geo but my wife thinks $325 delievered is too much.
I'd love even a cheap Neo-Geo conversion at this point but would take anything that is cheap enough for the wife to approve. The cheaper the better but I'd like a cartridge-based system so I can change the games out pretty easily. A sub $200 Neo Geo would be ideal.
On a second side note, for a future get-together, I live in a about 1250 square foot townhouse in Shawnee, which isn't exactly halfway between Tulsa and OKC but close, and wouldn't mind having a get together here with enough notice to get everything cleaned and organized. My wife and I moved in Aug and still have boxed up stuff around the place. I have the downstairs with a 32" SDTV and an upstairs with a 30" HDTV and could probably set up another TV in each room if people brought them. I have no objections as long as I had plenty of time to get things settled and cleared with the "CEO/CFO aka Wife". And as long as everything pitched together cash for pizza or something and up to 15 people or so.
Sorryu for the rant, been drinking as the wife is at work on New Years Eve and I've had basically a two-week vacation from work so I've been deeeerunk the whole time.
Flack mentioned this earlier but if you're looking for an arcade hookup in Oklahoma, this is a good place to start:

I went through a stage like that. I didn't need two weeks off though, just an hour or so. :P
I'm still up for something like this yes. But the 12th is also out for me. I have my boys that weekend and while they would have a good time, there really isn't that much room for them and their stuff they bring.
Also, my house is very small...I mean...really really small. Like just over 700sf total space in my place. I can hook up more TVs in other places and get some consoles out. But if more than like 6 or so people are in here...it would get crowded...no doubt.
So for me...the weekend of the 19th is the only available time this month.

Crap, so we aren't doing it on the 12th? I already asked off work!! Ugh, I should have checked here first. I just assumed...
EDIT: Nevermind on that Tulsa auction. My source turned out to be low down, no good, storyteller. Please direct all hate mail to Flack. ;-)

Are there any good arcades here in OK? That would be a cool trip but I haven't seen anywhere to play (aside from the crappy ones that some of the malls have).
As far as I know, Cactus Jack's is the biggest and best in OKC. I haven't been there in a couple years and the last time I went, the retro selection left something to be desired. However, they do have air hockey, Galaga, and Neo Geo. So they have most of what I go to play. The only problem is that the Galaga cab is one of those 20th anniversary combo ones, so the screen & control stick throw me off.
Flack would probably know more about it than I do though. As a matter of fact, he has a section on his website dedicated to the subject:
