Wow, great that he still attacks Take-Two/Rockstar, when they had nothing to do with the game.
I also like, how he noticed it during Smackdown. Like that is a children's program anyways. (I mean look at the Diva's)

It certainly isn't a kid's show, but Jack is correct in stating that the show does have a fairly young audience. Still, nothing in the ad shown on SD was violent, so he doesn't remotely have a leg to stand on here. The M rating was also featured in the ad.
I like how he noticed it watching a show where sweaty men grope eachother.
I think Jack has other "issues" going on he needs to deal with.

I just picked up the limited edition without a preorder. It is clearly one of the better one in a long time the box size is about 5oblivions col ed stack together. Well worth the 10 bucks. Now off to work![]()

You know, I was thinking the same thing. You mean to tell me he was watching one of those GARBAGE wrestling shows and he objected to the content of a commercial?
In my opinion people are responsible for their actions regardless of what media (or whatever else) they consume. But if he has to do this, maybe Jack should worry more about what is happening in the free, over-the-air wrestling broadcasts that children love to watch so much.
Going to pick up my copy around 1pm....
I'm hearing reports of the widescreen feature being messed up. I hope this isn't the case...

Indeed! Thanks for the heads up yesterday on the price.
I am really enjoying this game so far, though I am not very far in. I'm not the biggest FPS fan either, but this game just has a style of its own. It's not just the presentation either, the "weapons" (actually the abilities you get) and how you use them are awesome. I wasn't entirely convinced until I obtained Telekinesis. The actual guns themselves so far are meh (revolver, machine, shotgun), but this could change (but even if it doesn't the abilities are the meat).
You can do some cool tricks too, like enemies normally can heal themselves at heal stations, but you can hack the heal stations so that it damages enemies when they try to heal. Or there's these flying armed robots that are a pain in the ass, you can hack them and they'll follow you around and shoot the bad guys. You can electrocute enemies in standing water. There's all sorts of stuff like this you can do to inflict damage to enemies, and even at an hour in I think I've missed some of the tricks you can pull off.
I'm really a big fan of the way the story is presented, in the sense that, like say Metroid Prime (where you could scan, read, etc.) a good bit of it is entirely optional (in this case the diaries)...so people like me can skip all that crap and get down to the shootin' and creepy bits.
I'm not quite sure yet it'll turn out to be a solid !!!10!!!, it'll depend on how some of the repetitive prone tasks (like the hacking and searching) will play out as the game proceeds.
Oh yeah, this game is freaking creepy as all hell.
I think my all time favorite game just got dethroned, and Bioshock has just taken its place. I brought it home around 5pm, and just haven't been able to put it down for more than 20 minutes.
I've beaten 3 Big Daddy's, rescued 3 Little Sisters, and am currently getting my ass handed to me by a 4th Big Daddy with a big ass grenade launcher.
This game, IMO, feels like Half-Life 2 meets Super Metroid. There is alot of emphasis on exploring everything around. The weapons feel nice, the hacking is challenging, but not impossibly hard, the upgrading and building of weapons works out nice, the controls are ultra-responsive, and laid out quite nicely. The art direction, and voice acting is second to none. After a while you feel like you're watching some 40's, noir/sci-fi/horror movie. And you're the lead character.
Definite contender for GotY. 10 out of 10 (and I'm only about 4 hours in..)
Anyone holding out, you're seriously missing out on a truly bad-assed game. And I thought this would only be a timed exclusive, I was wrong. Apparently the box art says 'only on 360 and windows'. Sorry, PS3 guys.
Holy crap.... I'm about three hours in, and I honestly think I've found my new favorite game. Everything from the art direction to the enemy AI is incredible.
I've heard it described as Doom 3 with a story, but that's selling Bioshock short.
I should probably just shut up about this game since the entire goddamn internet is going to be yakking about it for the next couple weeks, but before I do, I wanted to ask what everyone thought about the level design. It's the one mild complaint I have; its very Metroid Prime-ish, but maybe a tiny bit more contrived? So far, of course... I just got past the fabulous Dr. Steinman.
G-Boobie, out.
PS: Incidentally, I'm playing this on a 37 inch 720p LCD. The environments set a new standard for utter excellence, putting even the mighty Gears in its place. (Some of the enemy textures, on the other hand....)
If I remember correctly, you had mentioned in another thread that your favorite game was System Shock II. I haven't played Bioshock myself yet, but I've known for a while now that it was going to *easily* be one of the best games ever made... Nevertheless, I still need to ask this burning question:
Is it, indeed, better than System Shock II?? If it is, that would make Bioshock the second best FPS/RPG of all time (the first spot is forever reserved for Deus Ex of course)

I've logged about 4 hours right now, and I'm loving it. However, I was wondering if anyone is receiving the same issue/bug I am. Twice now I've tried to hack machines (vending only), and the game has completely frozen on me. So much so that I couldn't even shutdown the Xbox from my controller. Kind of kills the tension when this happens, but I would echo the sentiment that it's the best game of the year so far.
Actually, my favorite game of all time was Jet Set Radio. I actually never played either System Shock, so I can't really give an opinion on if it's better or not.
But I can say this game will definitely give the mighty Halo 3 some very stiff competition.
And Geneshifter... Right now, I'm trying to rescue them all just to get the achievement points. My 2nd playthrough, I'll probably harvest 'em all.
And I also wanna add - the big daddies (known formally as 'The Bouncer') are really very satisfying boss fights. It's frantic, yet not impossible.
EDIT - And that widescreen glitch, I have yet to run into it. And in 1080i, this game is just so purdy!![]()
