Ok, now Canada is a big country, but assuming a Gaming Expo were to be heald in the Montreal-Ottawa-Toronto area....
Would you attend?
Would you be an exhibitor?
Do we have enough expos already?

I'd love to go, but my job keeps me in Edmonton. All the time.![]()
... for your gaming and iPod service needs http://www.oldschoolgamer.com/ For all your Video Game console and iPod upgrade/repair needs!
If it was in the 401 corridor (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal) I'd be in. I kind of doubt there would be enough vendors to attract visitors though. Just a thought. I have considered starting a group/website to bring together the Northern Front though.
I'd go if they held it in either Edmonton or Vancouver. Damn them eastern Canadians! >)
Well, there IS a group already, of sorts, called the CCJVQ. SlyDC or newcoleco could tell you more than I.. But here's a link to the page:Originally Posted by congobongo

Yes we are a group of collectors/gamer in the Montreal area. I don't know if some other clubs/groups exist in Ontario and western Canada.
But for those who lived in Ottawa there also the "R.A.J.V.O.". We know them very well, they came often to some of our meeting.

Congobongo, drop me a pm, perhaps we could lay the groundwork for such a group.
I know of several are collectors that would like to get involved.
We're quite a few guys...bilingual guys in the Ottawa area...
We created the "Rajvo" (or OVEG in English) waiting for French OR English-speaking members...if you want me to create a bilingual website, then I can do it...
Yes to a Canadian Gaming Expo...but let's start with "big and free" get-togethers to see the actual Canadian interest.
Mr Frosken in the Ottawa area...
"Move Your Car!!!"
Marc, I didn't know you were a member here!
Drop me a pm, maybe we can all get together.
I'm all for it myself. It seems like Microplay is getting into the older games, even if they are a bit on the expensive side... maybe they'd even offer to be a vendor if asked? <shrug>
Ottawa!![]()
I'd go if it were in Winnipeg, I can't afford to go too far, lol!
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
I was hoping that someone would try and get something going in the area. I can't make it very far, especially if I am to bring any of my stuff. God, I don't know how those Philly guys got all their stuff there! It must have cost a fortune, and require careful planning.
Let me know if you guys ever start anything. I am in Toronto.
A Canadian classic game expo would be fun. I would be interested in going. Even a club/swap meet in the Toronto area would be fine with me![]()
It's coming soon:
http://www.cgcc.ca
Looking for volunteers and members. Especially need contacts in Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Halifax (or at least somewhere on the east coast), as well as a few other major Canadian cities. The goal is to unite Canadian collectors and highlight some uniquely Canadian gaming items. Send me a PM with your email and I will keep you posted.
So I hear this is a "go"!
That's awesome. I want details! And I definitely want to see pictures, that's a really important part of these events that are a little out of reach (either time or distance-wise) for the rest of us.
Have a blast, folks.
The site is up (http://www.cgcc.ca) and a lot of Canadian collectors are coming out of the woodwork. It may be a while before any kind of convention happens though. We're looking to start small (localized swap meets, etc.) and grow from there.
