    Default Tengen

    Ok guys im still kinda young in my collecting career but today i bought my first tengen carts. the first few worked fine but the last couple dont want to. i cleaned them with an alcohol soaked qtip but it didnt work. i tried to open it but the clips wouldnt budge i took the little torx screws out and all but they wouldnt open oh and i dont really know much about tengen could yall fill me in? thanx in advance.

    Are you talking about Tengen NES carts or Genesis/Mega Drive carts? Tengen Genesis carts were not built to last. A lot of them are just plain dead nowadays.

    The only Tengen cart I wouldn't do that to would be Tetris, as that's the only Tengen cart, IMHO that has any real value.

    However, there are ways to peel back the back label without destroying it, IIRC.

    This is one of those "ox in the ditch" situations. If the cart is non functional as it is, then what good is it anyway? Like Dendawg said, Tetris is really the only one with some worth. So what have you got to lose? Please post how it turns out. I'm interested to hear the end of this one.

    I would say Tetris and Pac-Mania being the only ones really worth fighting to get working.

    well i took out the bottom two screws kinda spread the cart and took the chip out. it was hard as hell to put back but after like 5 mins. the whole thing was back together and workin like new
