Default Secret MS xbox360 maintenance App

In order to do this process you must turn on your xbox 360 go over to the system blade. then click on memory then highlight your HDD and press Y. Once you press Y enter the following combo X X LB RB X X. Once entered It will ask you if you want to do maintenance on your hard drive. I have been told it is a Disk Defragmenter.

Cool trick! I tried and it does indeed work, but I don't think it's a defrag. It would take a lot longer than that to defrag a 20 gig hard drive. I wonder why this hasn't been widely publicized. Or is it hidden deep in the owner's manual?

Well im no expert when it comes to a defrags but i do know that defrags take cluster files and seperates them to make the hdd run for efficiently. Maybe the xbox was doing a good job by arranging its hdd files? maybe thats why who knows?

Apparently this "code" has been around since last year.

Considering that this code is now featured in the "support" section of Xbox.com...I don't think it's a secret anymore.

You're the same person offering to repair people's broken 360's right? Maybe you shouldn't be playing around with features you don't understand. There are plenty of "features" built into the 360 that you really don't want to poke with a stick.

I repair xbox 360's hardware wise not software wise. Thanks for the input and concern though always appreciated, And yes i did just realize that this isnt a secret after all. After doing further research and the help of this thread I now know that. I had seen it on youtube labeled Secret MS Main. App. so i though id pass it on here.
