Some of us might know that Burger King was thinking about selling games back in April, well now they now!
They are going to start selling their own games for $4 with a Value Meal.
More information read here:

That cover looks like something from the Something Awful forums.
I'm surprised they didn't do some sort of football game, given the popularity of those commercials.

I find the fact that each disc holds an XBox -and- a 360 version rather impressive. More publishers should do that. :)

I wished if Burger King wanted to make a game, have itbased off Breakfest Browl. The link to breakfest Browl is http://www.gtds.net/Breakfast-Brawl/. Burger king could have the opponents be the food from their menu like breakfest brawl had you go against breakfest foods that box and have special boxing moves.[/url]

Pics from "Sneak King" are making me crack up.
"Finally, Sneak King takes the stealth action genre and puts it to a friendlier use than usual. Instead of tiptoeing behind enemy guards to silently snap their necks, players will sneak up on hungry people to surprise them with offerings of Burger King food."

Anyway, i'll probably be getting the one that allows you to sneak up on people and surprise them with food.

I'll buy the "stealth" one for the hell of it, despite not even owning a 360. I could just throw it in the 360 at work, since the managers would know no better.

Exactly. How many people on this forum, or any given forum, really have "rare" games like Cheetamen II or even a mint copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga?
In comparison, it is safe to assume nearly every member of the DP forums worth their salt will have these games, or at least try to get them, by the end of the year.
Truth is, you'll have most everybody here buying at least two or three copies of each game. One to play, one to keep sealed and one to sit on in case it goes up in value. There are people reading this right now who will drive all over the city to different Burger King stores trying to acquire 10-15 copies, or more.
When a game becomes rare, this sort of thing tends to happen after the fact. I don't think most people who bought Flintstones II believed it was going to be rare later on. People buying something like Action 52 wanted to play 52 games at once and thought the lousy box art and graphics may have been a joke but there weren't a lot of them sitting back thinking about production values or the number of copies out there, at least not back then.
Burger King will have to run this thing for awhile or print more games to keep up with the demand, if they want to keep a customer base happy. They are not interested in catering to collectors by keeping production values low. If they run out, they'll order (or produce) more copies of the games and keep them in there a little longer or make sure that most everybody who wants a game will get one. Meaning they kind of have to keep games on hand during the promotion, at all costs. They won't run out and it is safe to assume the market will be flooded with these things.
It will be a joke seeing threads or Ebay auctions two or three years from now with some yokel trying to get the equivalent of a rent payment off of one of these things.

@bangotango, that's an excellent summary of the situation. Exactly what I was thinking. Back in the day, people were players, not collectors and that's how rares happened. Now there are probably more collectors than players. You just don't get true rares when everyone is stocking up and when the companies are producing to meet that demand.

Normally I would agree with that logic. Games that claim to be EXCLUSIVE!!! RARE!!! this day and age are really not. (See Outlaw games from Blockbuster which sat on shelfs until they were liquidated.)
However.
These games are only going to be sold for appoximately 1 month. My guess is they have a set print run, and that's it. Just enough to run the promotion. By no means are these going to be an Action 52, or a NWC, but these will be uncommon and hard to find in good shape. My guess is that they will NOT be in DVD cases, but will be in paper sleeves. It's cheaper that way.
OMG SUPER RARE and is gonna be worth the monies? No.
Wow. that's 20 years old and it's pretty uncommon and hard to find in good shape? I think so.

I agree they are worth getting for a lot of reasons. There will be a lot of mangled copies of those games in 10-15 years.
However, more DP/Atari Age/Game FAQ, etc. members will have them than the typical game that is uncommon. Mostly due to the advance warning. Most everyone reading this thread will have them and nobody here is going to let their copies go to seed.

I invite anyone to point out a good number of fast food promotional kitsch from the past 15 years that is considered 'rare' or highly sought after. I'll be generous and welcome mention of anything from the past 20 years, even. Now even in the face of say, 5-10 different kinds of themed plastic crap that might pull some coin from collectors that are into it, we have thousands of other runs that are clogging thrifts, yard sales basements attics toy chests bookshelves rectal cavities junkyards, etc. etc.
I'm not talking about the Happy Meal displays or the restaurant posters and drive through placards that weren't intended for distribution to customers. I mean the kid toys, the little Christmas tree ornaments, the licensed glassware and collectible cups.
Consider that these are fast food restaurants, McDonalds said 'fuck it' at some point back and just had their signs vaguely say 'billions and billions served' instead of a concrete number. Burger King is no slouch by comparison.
Maybe I was mistaken, but how about the beniebaby's that came out? I heard they were gone in just a few days. Then there was small barbie dalls that came from McDonalds that I heard went rare due to collectors...
Besides I have a Sonic/Super Monkey Ball Happymeal box on some of my shelves. Inside you will find a plush Sonic doll 'Sonic Underground' from Denny's. Still sealed in the bag by the way.
And speaking of Denny's, I would still like to complete my set of baseball cards from back in the day. The hollogram ones that only came from Denny's.
Sorry to disagree with you Bratwurst, but I think your wrong....

Burger King would rather have enough games on hand for this promotion than deal with pissed off parents or bratty kids, who will still be the ones getting most of them. Enough said.
I do admit someone would have to be a fool to pass them up, though, based on the price alone.

Do you know anyone who collects Beeny Babies anymore? Seriously, do you? Aside from that, anyone ever have more than anictdotal evidence of those things actually being "worth" anything? I know I saw a ton of those things with crazy price tags, but I never saw anyone ever buy one.
The whole Beany Baby thing was a fad complete with artificial scarcity. Those things are starting to show up in thrifts just like all the other fast food premium crap.
The only people to whom any of that stuff has any value are the people who can't admit the gravy days of $100+ for a bean bag are long since past or who can't fess up to the retarted amounts of money they sank into a children's toy. Even the flea market people have moved on, and when that happens, you know the ride is over.

I only have plans on buying 1 of each and if people say they have a limited run of each and they'll be completely out by the end of the month then I may buy a second copy of each to keep sealed, I mean for a few bucks it isn't that hard for its price to go up over time.

Sadly there's a company in Japan that has an entire series of these. They're put out by the same publisher that did the Battle Raper and Sexy Beach games. Disturbingly they're like full out games that involve you stalking someone to learn where they go during the day, etc.
Either way, Sneak King looks awesome because it's basically Manhunt only with Burger King instead of evisceration. I'll definitely be grabbing these, especially if they come in their own cases and everything.

well F all the rarity talk and crap, I am getting at least 1 copy of each game, even if I dont have a 360 (i still got my XB)!
And IF and ONLY IF they come in either large DVD style cases (even slim ones) or a still kool looking case w/ some sort of shrinkwrap will I get an extra copy.
Either way, these games are cheap, they are a landmark in XB and 360 gamemaking with 2 versions on 1 disk, and to a crazy ass like me, they look ridiculously fun (unless something like Sneak King is far to repetative)!

they should have made a beat 'em up game instead. a ramen company back in the day did a kickass beat 'em up game called "u.f.o. kamen yakisoban" to promote their produce. i think most people will try this BK game for curiousity sake, but find it lacking after the quirky value subsides. meanwhile, that ramen game is fun by itself, and most people don't even know that it was a playing advertisement.

Big Bumpin (the thread, that is).
Now that these games are out (and the board's back up), let's hear some of your impressions and reviews.
Not having a 360, I wasn't interested in these games at all until I learned that they were Xbox compatible as well. Now I want all 3, since, you know, four bucks for a game is four bucks for a game.
So I picked up Sneak King on Thursday since that seemed like the most original gaming premise of the lot. The gameplay is in fact somewhat repetitive, inasmuch of the game as I've completed. Also the camera is a bit of a hassle to control. Other than that, it's worth playing. It's a harder game than it sounds like, particularly when there are constraints on the missions like zero detection, etc. The challenge factor on these harder missions is what will keep me coming back to it.
The other thing that will keep me coming back to it for a while is just how absurd the whole thing looks. Somebody mentioned the game being a sort of "rape sim". I've got to admit, I thought similar things while playing in the cul-de-sac area when I found myself tiptoeing behind some woman walking around her backyard pool. Pretty messed up.
I'll pick up the other two probably in the next week. The BK's in my area seem to have plenty of all three titles still. I have the impression that they aren't moving as fast as one might think owing to a false impression that they're 360-only games. In fact it wasn't even until I was in the drive-thru and saw a sign explaining that they'd work with either system that I decided to pick one up.

I found Sneak King to be quite boring after the first level. Pocketbike Racers is alot of fun IMO....I haven't tried it online yet. And the bumper cars one is really a mixed bag....some of the games on it are great, but others are average. Definitely worth the price of admission on all games though. I hope they do more of this stuff in the future.

The game intro's are great! Yes I did pick up 2 copies of each, one to play and one to keep sealed, but I collect sealed xbox games. Sneak King is the funniest of the 3, but has the shortest game play. I think my favorite is Pocket Bike Racer.

Eager to keep adding to something to this thread (I don't post in Modern Gaming much), I broke down and picked up Big Bumpin and Pocketbike Racers yesterday, along with a ham and egg Croissanwich (/barf).
Pocketbike Racers is hella fun once you get the hang of cornering and using the special weapons. I've only been doing freeplay, just learning the tracks. It ate up a few hours last night. If multiplayer racing is any good I'll probably break down and buy 2 extra controllers so my son and his pals can all play at once. I'd like to see them get into a racing game for a while as an alternative to their never-ending Soul Calibur II battles.
Haven't played Big Bumpin yet but it looks promising.

Well, the missus was kind enough to pick up all three (and the huge static cling window ads) for me and I must say these seem pretty decent for four dollar games.
I've spent the most time with Sneak King and the gameplay, while simplistic, is good enough that I keep coming back for more. I think the A-C ranking system is what does it for me. It really plays to my competitive side and forces me to find ways to go back and do each mission better.
I don't really have a lot of time to play games anymore and as I played Sneak King, I kept saying to myself "I can't believe I'm playing this instead of (insert random $50 game that is still shrink-wrapped on my shelf)". I think the fact that I've spent more time playing Sneak King than Disgaea 2, Prey, and Final Fantasy XII combined says alot about the quality of these BK games.

I picked all these BK games up the day they released. I'm not really a fan of Big Bumpin' but Pocketbike Racer is great. I've completed all the achievements and continue to play online with it. I enjoyed Sneak King as well, but it started to get repetitive and I began to lose interest. Overall, these are well worth picking up.

"Big Bumpin" is worth it for the "Hockey " mode. That will be a blast to play 4-player.

Arrg. Get me a BK fish sandwich.
I went a few weeks ago and ended up not purchasing one. I might grab one next week or something but I was holding out because someone was giving me a gift card but apparently that's not until Dec. 21. They are still well stocked around here so this weekend will be a good time to get one. And btw, does anyone know the print numbers of each game and if this promotion is even available over seas.

These games are a riot. My roommate and I picked them all up two days ago and had a couple of friends over. Hilarity ensued. I love the title screen of the pocket bike game with the King over the movie moving backgrounds and we were all cracking up at the "waa waa waa" way the people talk in the sneaking game. Certainly worth the money.

I bought all 3, but haven't played them yet. Just reading the instructions was pretty damn funny by themselves! I can just hear the commercial narrator dude's voice reading them aloud to me.
One part of one of the instructions had me cracking up. They wer talking abut an overhead map or GPS thingy in the game or something, and they wrote something like "displayed in full 8-bit glory!" Like, they knew it sucked and didn't care!! So funny...

I was surprised they were pretty fun - out of all three, sneak king was the bigest disapointment for me (although its funny when the people pass out becasue they didnt get their BK fix) -- i was hoping it would be a creepier game. -- i like pocket bike racer the best - i felt its a perfect multiplayer game for drunk people BUT im a realy disapointed no system link
My favorite intro is on the pocket bike racer game -- incase you guys dont know - to see the whole intro you have to remain active in the menu

Sorry to drag up a old thread, but I picked up all 3 games yesterday for $10 - so if you haven't grabbed them yet, you might want ot check your local BK to see if they have a similar deal.
The games are pretty decent - I played Pocket Bike Racer for a couple of hours.

Got all 3 last week. That doubles my 360 library. I've only played the Pocket Bike Racer which I liked. When they originally came out they were advertised at $4.99 Canadian but the local BK was gouging and charging $8.99. When I finally went back they had proper signage up and the price was corrected. I hope someone caught hell for that.

WOW! Thats a HUGE success. This really bodes well for the chances of seeing more promos like this. Personally, I LOVED this promo. The games were awesome and Burger Kings weird/creepy image with the King character was used to perfect effect.

Sooooo . . . $8 million dollars so far from selling these games? Is it fair to keep calling it a "promo" at this point? It just seems like a money maker now. I'm amazed. How much of that is profit, ya think? I mean, how much could it have cost to develop those games? It seemed to me they probably just bought some sucky games that had already been developed, and slapped the King in there. If so, they might be making quite a bit of money here. does anyone know?

I don't think they expected them to sell as well as they did. The manager where I got mine remarked on how they've already gone through several shipments.
And for the person above that figure that the games have made $8 million, don't forget that you also have to get a value meal - so that adds in about another $5 million or so.

Well, as has been pointed out many times in this thread, the games are actually good. But anyway, the racing games re-use the same characters, and some of the music has already been used in BK commericals (like the Coq Roq songs) so I'm betting they really didn't have to break the bank to make the games.

the 2 million is actually across all three games, so that would roughly be about 660 000 per title. Well, I guess I may as well open them up and play them. Does anybody know how many they planned on printing?
As for Cost, I'm sure it was really cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if the developers did it for next to nothing just to get their names out there.

You're not missing too much with Sneak King. It's not horrible -- actually, it's pretty funny the first few times you pop up on someone and they squeal like a Sim -- but it gets repetitive fairly quickly. But I'm not huge on stealth games to begin with, so your milage may vary.

My guess would be until their supply runs out, or sales slow. All of my BK's just got big shipments after selling out, and I was finally able to get the last two games.

Apologies if this has already been posted. At my local Burger King there's a sign in the window that says you can get all 3 games for $10.99 now. I don't know if that's just a regional deal or what, let us know if you have the same sign in your store as well.
BTW, the sign is not for sale. I tried.

At my BK they let me buy all 3 without a food purchase just because they were looking to get rid of them. They were sold out for awhile but got a whole new shipment in. I can't imagine these ever being worth anything, though they're kinda fun to play.
I'm particularly fond of "Sneak King". It's hilarious... vaguely creepy... and surprisingly addictive. I've sunk a few hours into it already, when I'm taking a Wii break. I love the King's sneaking animation, cracks me up every time, especially considering those people must be blind not to see him right there! The whole thing is just ridiculous which somehow adds charm to it.

Well, some people have been buying 2-3 sets of the games because they assume it will be rare somewhere down the road. Two million isn't a bad figure but you have to assume most people bought at least one set of each game, sometimes more. So two million sold but not two million people buying the games. I'd say somewhere between 500,000 to 1,250,000 actual buyers. Give or take.......

Ok, I think I might be hitting a bug on Sneak King thats keeping me from finishing all the missions and I wondered if anybody else has seen it. On one of the earlier missions at the construction site, you have to be seen by everybody in the level. I can get everybody except one guy inside the building next to the pipe that you can tip over. That guy never leaves the building and going inside doesn't get me noticed. Has anybody else had this happen? I've put a few hours into the game and finished all the other levels, but its a shame that this is keeping me from getting 100%.

Damn, wish I'd known that the other day. I assumed most Burger Kings had cleared them out by now. However, I walked into a lone Burger King location a half hour from my house which was still advertising them. If I had known 99 cents......I would have expected them to still be $3.99 so I never bothered to ask. Thanks for the tip, anyway.
I already have two sets of these (one is sealed) and think 2 of the three games are horrible but they'd still be good at 99 cents to help pad a big video game lot/bundle for Ebay when I need to clear out duplicates or 25 cent commons. You know, the type where you might throw in 15-20 games from assorted systems that are virtually worthless but you know at least 2-3 people will be watching/bidding on it just because it is 15-20 games and they aren't wise to the "value" (or lack thereof) of the individual games.

Last week, Microsoft proudly touted the sales figures of its Xbox 360-exclusive shooter Gears of War, mentioning that it had achieved sales of 2 million copies worldwide in just six weeks of release. Microsoft was mildly one-upped by promotional partner Burger King today, as the fast-food chain announced that its trio of games for the Xbox and Xbox 360 had broken the 2 million mark in just four weeks.
That number represents the cumulative sales of Burger King's three games--Pocketbike Racer, Big Bumpin', and Sneak King. All three were developed by Blitz Games, maker of the original Fuzion Frenzy, and are rated E for Everyone. The games sell for $3.99 each with the purchase of a value meal, while supplies last.
Well, that's not really fair. They had to combine the sales of 3 different games to get higher than the sales one one? Kind of misleading.
I wonder how many of each title sold. I guess it's same to assume there's around 666,667 copies of each game out there.
The good news (I hope) is that other chains may follow this lead, or maybe even BK again.
