I've got 20 consoles and about 375 games amongst them (from 1 TG 16 game to 75 VCS games).

After I add in my handhelds and 8-bit stuff I top 400 (on 27 machines - although I have a lot of pirated 8-bit stuff I don't count which would easily put me over 1000).

It's funny comparing it to the collections here though. It's miniscule. But the people I know don't come here so they're impressed nonetheless :D

To shed some light on this, let me give you a few systems that I can definitely estimate.

I have over 500 original PSX games.
I have over 500 Sega Genesis games.
I have over 250 Dreamcast games.
I have over 400 Atari 2600 games.
I have over 500 NES games.

I collect for every system, and I collect imports for many of them too. I have stacks of Famicom and PC Engine games that I haven't even had a chance to try out yet; and if you start counting diskette games, in some dark closet in my house there are probably 1000 of those.

It's a sickness. Someday I'll have a "real" count but for now the pictures will have to do - which I desperately need to re-do because my game room pictures are now 18 months old!

3,477 unique games for 35 console and handheld cartridge and disc systems. Keeping your collection on a PDA does have its advantages. Instant totals are one, mobile access to your lists is the next, not buying duplicates is another. I highly reccomend them to anyone with a growing collection...I would be lost without it.

I just counted for the current systems, I have about 120 titles. That isn't too bad. I estimate that I have between 400-500 titles. My Saturn library is the highest with over 100 titles. I think my library is a pretty large number considering I am not a collector. I am just a hardcore gamer that picks up titles that I think I want or want. You know what I mean? I have over 30 systems. It's tough finding interesting titles sometimes. I would say that I like something about every title I own. Apparently, but your post doesn't make much sense. Yes, the basketball games are worthless when they're a couple of years old, but then there are the 2d fighters, shooters and RPG's I own. Chrono Trigger is worth a bit, Mark Of The Wolves is about $400 on AES (I also have the original JAP DC release), and then I have games like Battle Garegga and Radiant Silvergun. Somewhere around 1500. I'm progressively slowing down as the years go on. It seemed like the first 500 came quickly (mostly because that was back when you could find 2600 and Intv. stuff everywhere for $.25 or less), and the next 500 probably took five years beyond that, and the remainder has taken even longer to obtain. But I'm patient and cheap, and will rarely spend over $5 for a game unless it is vital and brand new. If I wasn't this way, I'm sure I would have twice the collection (and 4X the debt).

I haven't thought about this for awhile. I'm not going to go back and recount everything but will instead just make an educated guess as to how many I have for each system now. I did recount what I have for the current consoles and my library hasn't changed too much recently for the older systems so this should still be a pretty accurate estimation.

The bulk of the games are on Genny/Saturn(almost all import)/DC (about 1/3 import)/PCE (again, almost all imports).

I have very (very!) few 2600 and NES games at the moment.
If I start buying for those more actively the total should increase rather quickly.

I usually buy more expensive/rare games I want to play first when possible, followed by occasional short bursts of cheaper ones......

Outside of Sega systems and PCE I don't often feel compelled to buy all that many games very often.

Atari Lynx = 93 (I want to hit the 100 mark on this one, as it is one of my favorite systems. Just waiting for Carl to release more stuff - or get a few proto copies)

Atari Jaguar = 41 (This one has stopped completely. Just can't find the few I'm missing - for the right price)

Atari Jaguar CD = 6 (only six - I'd have to see how many there actually are. Can't be much).

Arcadia 2001 = 43 (probably one of the few nuts who collects for this system. I like it!)

Bally (Astrocade) = 46 (I'd love more of these, but they are hard to get)

ColecoVision = 50 (This collection has been stalled for years. I may sell some off, as I've not into collecting all the games for this system)

PlayStation I = 20 (same as the Atari 5200. Only kept the games I really like)

TI 994/A = 4 (just started last year on this system)

Timex/Sinclair 2068 = 5 (only missing two, if I remember correctly. And those two are very, very hard to get)

TurboGrafx = 4 (that's it. Wish I had more, but they are hard to find, and cost too much)

Vectrex = 4 (I had lots more, but again the 'only get what I like' rule kicks in. The multi-cart helped with that decision too)

-N64 was the only console to drop its total, going from 34 to 32. I sold some games. If I hadn't purchased Cruis'n Exotica, I would be at 31.
-July was the first month in a while where I purchased at least one title for every system I own.
