whats the ONLY site to get them ? letstalk.com
anywhere from $14.99 for atari 1 to $24.99 for Warhammer...
Do these come complete with cases and manuals? Does anyone know?
Yep, they come complete just like the retail ones including a seal and outer wrap.
LetsTalk is the only place I know that sells the American versions of these games. Too bad much of the staff are not so smart. If you get an idiot just hang up and try again.
Your only other option is ebay.
Have fun. I played the hell of of my QD last night.
Hi my name is Chris and I now collect for Ngage.
After having this score:

I guess I am now an Ngage collector! :P
Any advice? Scoop up the letstalk.com games ASAP??

Another recent N-Gage fan ;)
My pics out of the letstalk.com games: Glimmerati, High Sieze and Mile High Pinball. Some of the best games on the system, IMO.
Also, get a big MMC card and load it up with movies, mp3's and emulators.

The games only available from letstalk.com come in standard cases with inserts and instructions just like the games bought retail. Some of them don't have barcodes on the back, but they all have ESRB ratings are are definitely not just PAL versions being resold. I should mention I'm talking about the North American versions.

I have to say for people just getting started with collecting for the N-Gage you picked the perfect time. With the instore games being sold for $3 and the online games still being available you all should be able to complete a collection cheaply. I don't imagine the N-Gage games growing in value that much but I imagine a year from now the games being much harder to find.
I think it might be safe to say that we hit the end of the line with N-Gage game cards at 54 US releases plus Sega Rally for a total of 55. A number that went higher than most people thought it would. I remember a thread over a year ago that was speculating SSX as the last N-Gage game. However, I think this really is the end.

So what will happen to Payload and Shadowborn? Will they be available for download or will they be going to some other cell phone platform entirely?
Anyone know?

my thoughts are all the games not released will be released as downloadable games on the new phones.
the Mile High Pinball shown at E3 is the same Mile High we all have. The only games that were different were One and System Rush and those games only run on that fancy new Nokia phone N9? I think for the most part the N-Gage games will be ported over to the smartphones unchanged.

I doubt I'll ever get a complete set of N-Gage games, but I'm trying like hell to get all of the games I want to play.
After beating Ghost Recon and becoming obscenely addicted to Pathway to Glory, I've decided to order the next 4 games I want to sink unhealthy amounts of my life into.

prepare for unhealthy amounts of life to sink into High Sieze and PTG Ikusa Islands for sure. I never really got into Rifts but I don't think that means its a bad game I just never got into it as much as the PTG games and High Sieze. I'm waiting for my copy of Warhammer as well.
Other games I sunk unhealthy amounts of my life into were Mile High Pinball, Glimerati, and Colin McRae Rally (everytime I play this game I can't believe i'm playing it on a cell phone).

It's VERY rough - I can see why they decided to pull the plug on this one, the graphics are bad and it's hard to tell what's going on, if you're even hitting the other cars, etc.
On a positive note, Lumines Mobile plays great on the N-Gage :)

For Payload, load the files from the zip onto your memory card to the /system/apps and /system/libs directories as they're laid out in the zip. Plut the MMC back into your N-Gage and Payload should show up in your menu.

It did indeed. Thank yopu very much for the advice! The icon showed up just like you said!
Then it said "System Error" and shut down

Anyone have a fix? Could my N-Gae have a bunch of junk on it that's preventing the application from booting up? Anyone?
Yeah, you might want to try a blank MMC if you've got one sitting around...

There's a lot of speculation going on in the n-gage arena about Payload being released. Just because letstalk.com isn't carrying it doesn't mean that it won't be released outside the US. I think that it probably will be released somewhere since they released the demo and still advertise the payload website on the front page of the n-gage.com site. Or letstalk could still release it which wouldn't be too much of a surprise since they never seem to know what's going on.

I finally got the game to work. To anyone who gets the icon for the game followed by an error message, try...
"Payload_demo" folder goes in SYSTEM > APPS
"Libs" and "Programs" stays in SYSTEM.
I didn't have a "Programs" folder in there so I just made a folder that said Programs. I pasted the "Libs" folder in the system folder and then tried the icon again. Booted right up.
I had made myself believe this was some sort of Twisted metal clone... something I would have loved. I was wrong.
This demo sucks. I know it claims to be an incomplete build but I have the feeling this is how the final game plays. I can't imagine them doing much to improve what's there already to a point where it would be fun.
I can't see this game being released anywhere, but what the hell do I know? The last year's releases have been awesome and this demo is the polar opposite of "awesome." Ok, it's not *that* bad but it is pretty damn disappointing.
The N-Gage forums have tips on the objectives. I may change my opinion once I play with it awhile (and I will) but I doubt I'll start liking it more.
Give it a shot and see what you think, folks!

I noticed the Online Rarity Guide is up to date now with N-Gage releases. So people who use the guide to keep track of games they have and need can do so again. :)
Also if this is the end how many people have already finished their collection when they recieved Warhammer. I'm sure quite a few of you.
If this is indeed the end then I've finished my first collection of games for a system. I even got a copy of Sega Rally and I normally just collect US releases. Anyway its been fun and I'll keep one eye open for Payload if it ever gets released somewhere. LOL

this is the only complete collection i have as well...kinda sucks that i just bought them as they came out, but this is kind of unique to the game world in that if i dont order them the chance ill ever see them anywhere is slim. i hate shopping games on ebay, and i think the per state ratio of ngage collectors is probably single digits...

If there's an upside to the N-Gage not getting any more new games, it must be the hope and dream that none of us never, ever have to talk to anyone at LetsTalk again. My first experience with them was great and then each sucessive one got worse and worse until I, too, was telling the employee how to seach their system for the item I wanted to purchase from his company.
Oh yeah... Payload still smells. I played that demo for almost an hour looking for some fun. I did not find it.

Hell... I had no idea that demos (possible even full versions?) of the unreleased games Virtual Cop and Alien Front were even available, much less playable.
The Virtua Cop I found has been hacked with Resident Evil characters, zombie sounds, and various RE graphics for the loading screen and such. Does anyone know where to download (the non-hacked version) regular Virtua Cop? Is there a way to get rid of the RE files from the hacked game so it will revert back to VC?
EDIT
Nevermind. I found the original. I much prefer the original to the hack if only because it looks like it was originally intended to look. The original and the hack seem to play the same. The game looks pretty good (not as good as the Saturn, though) and seems to be pretty interesting but you REALLY need a gun for this sort of thing.

Alien Front Online plays like DOOM so far.

YES! Many thanks! PLEASE make a higher-resolution scan. That would be awesome. I've got a scan of an early Sonic N box if anyone is interested. The front looks mostly the same with the title being relocated and the art a slight bit different. The spine is all white as opposed to checkerboard white/blue, the back is totally different.
I'll be happy to post links to the demos, but it will have to wait until Monday when I'm at my work PC where I saved the links. If you don't want to wait you can google it. You'll find it if you keep looking and digging, but I'll post the links Monday nevertheless. Try...
"virtual cop" n-gage download
and
"alien front" n-gage download
Both games appear to be complete, not demos. I played Alien Front until the end. It's a lot like the Dreamcast game with PSone quality graphics and smaller levels. I remember beating the Dreamcast single-player game very quickly. I imagine the online game was what made Alien Front Online (DC) so cool and the fact that the N-Gage port of Alien Front (no Online) sees to be missing it is a serious blow to the game. I mean, I finished it in less than an hour (just with tanks... I didn't play much as the Alien race but it seems to be about the same.)
Virtua Cop is actually more fun than I thought at first... it's surprisingly good. The loss of the gun is a big deal and the cursor isn't that fast but it works ok. Like I said... it's no Saturn but it's not terribly far off from a graphical standpoint.

Help!!!!
I've been talking with Fishsandwich and he has been an incredible help. But I'm still having problems!
I'm trying to get emulators working on my QD- so far all I can get to run is Vboy.
SMS Plus S60 and VNES I can't get to run the roms.
I can run the demo tests that come with VNES but when I put roms in the same folder as the demo's they don't show up when in the QD. ??????
The SMS Plus S60 I just have no clue- no matter where I put roms on the MMC card they won't show up when the card in in the N-gage. It says "Load Rom" then asks which directory to use, but there are no roms in any of the folders.
Anyone else using VNES and SMS Plus S60??? How the hell did you get them to work???
Anyone?
If only it was as easy as the Vboy was........

Thanks for the link to Alien Front. I've been wanting that one for some time. I used to find the box sitting at a local EB Games, but they didn't have it in stock. I told them that it was cancelled and would never come out, and the next time i'd go back there, the box would be back on the shelf again. Finally, after the last time I bought N-Gage games there (and having to hear the sales idiots slam me and the N-Gage as much as possible), I asked them to give the the Alien Front box. Now I have a game to put inside it.
I bought an N-Gage QD the day it came out, and have close to 40 games for it now. I don't bother with the sports games, I never picked up Bomberman because I heard it was abyssmal, and have only bought Atari Masterpieces vol. 1 from letstalk.com.
What other compatible games have you guys bought? I have Atari Retro, which is a Palm OS game that's got a Symbian OS version on the card too. It's got 7 classic Atari 2600 games on it. I haven't seen a lot of other Palm games that are Nokia compatible.

It's great to see this topic still has some life yet especially when the por misunderstood N-gage will not be getting any more new games (it seems.)
I'm trying to put together some boxes for some of the unreleased games and I think a few of you N-gage collectors have inserts for some of the games.
Could anyone scan the inserts in a high resolution? The games are...
Virtual Cop
Alient Front
It would be great to have some boxes for these games. I tried making one for Snakes but it needs work. i'm going to try Payload next.

Well, I guess I'm a bit late to the N Gage collecting area, but I found a game stop that had a few titles left for a measly 1.50 each, I got Chaos Theory, Tomb Raider, Operatiion shadow and Colin Mcrae. As soon as I have some more cash I will grab a console. So far I have been impressed with the console so I can't wait to get into full swing collecting and playing.

Pathway to Glory: Ikusa Islands
X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse
Atari Masterpieces Volume 2
Civilization
I am very close to a complete NTSC collection. Does anybody know if that one dude on eBay is still selling copies of sega rally? If not, I am not too worried about it. I am going to pick up atari vol 2 from letstalk since they are selling it for 14.99 and with my college return, I am going to get the other 4. This has to be the most interesting system that I have collected for. The only really rare things I have seen are the cases for Virtua cop and Alien front (store displays), and sega rally. Everything else is simply uncommon or hard to find, but not rare. A perfect example was splinter cell: team stealth action, that game took me forever to find, but I still got it for 7 or 8 (I think).
Also, I noticed we have a few new n-gage collectors. All I can say is: welcome.
fishsandwich: I do not have scans, but I am one of the people interested. When there are scans, I would definately like to know how to use them, because buying a cheap n-gage game for the case is not very hard to do.

I finally found some cheap ngage games!
I went to a local EB Games and asked the cashier. I've done this a couple of times before and they never had anything. Well I guess they must have found some because I got MLB Slam and The Sims for $1.89 each :D
From now on I'm going to be asking every EB I go into :D
i got my N-gage since it was released in UK, and I am just starting to collect for it (had to finish my game.com collection first, which is like, done this week).
The game Flo Boarding came with the phone, was this a European release only?

I was curious if anyone here has snakes on a card. I know that it is a download game, is there any way to have it on a card to play? I have a complete N-Gage collection, and would love to add this to my set. How about a mock insert for N-gage cases? I am interested in any info on how to get unreleased games on a game card the N-gage can read. I was just curious if anyone on this thread had snakes....

Sure... just transfer it over to a small card. I made an insert for mine and used a case from a crappy game. It's not a very good job, though... I keep meaning to redo it.
It's not hard to get it on the card, though. I took elements off Nokia's website to make the insert.

Well I'm down to needing 2 games to complete my ngage collection - Sega Rally and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which I should be able to find on ebay. Sega Rally looks like its going to be a bit harder to find.
The last two games I bought off ebay, High Seize and X-Men Legends II are "Gold Master Review" versions of the game. Does anyone know what this means? Are they like a "Greatest Hits" versions? Here is the auction and pic of the items:

Nice score, they are actually versions of the games sent to various journalists and people in the video game industry. These versions are full versions, although some of them have variant artwork on them. I have six of these versions in my set of games, and they even come with mini cd-roms you can put in your computer! Nice score, you got a deal.

well shortly after having all the N-Gage games I sold almost all of them. I've never had a complete collection for any system so this was a first. I probably would have kept them but I moved to Nicaragua (off topic story) and downsized my collection to 5 games.
right, my little collection so far is coming on nicely.

It didn't say how many he signed but that the first batch would be signed by him. I was kind of disappointed I didn't get one of the signed ones. congrats though as all N-Gage games are pretty limited and a signed one is even more so. look forward to seeing the picture.
Well, I did in fact order another one, and lo and behold I got another signed copy of Rifts.

The last game to be released was Payload but you can only download it. The last game to be released on a card was Warhammer 40,000.
One must wonder though if somewhere in the world Payload got put on cards since it was so close to release when Nokia decided to stop with the card format.

I heard that you can get some 'third party apps' for the N-Gage, I mean, along the lines of 'Emulators'.
Is this true? What Systems are Emulated? How Well do they run?

I know this thread is LONG but all the information you need is buried within.
NES, Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color work great.
I hear the Genesis emulation is pretty good as well.
SNES emulation is sketchy at best but it's possible and some games are fairly playable.
MAME is emulated well for certain games.
GBA emulation was started but I think it has been abandoned.
Here's a list of the emulated consoles. You can find them at

DAMMIT I broke my N-Gage QD last night... :( I'm such an idiot. Anyone have one for sale that works with Cingular?
well, i purchased Payload, d/l the game, input my received code, guess what....
start the game, message comes up...game need registering to prevent code being used for piracy....fair enough, except my N-gage doesn't connect to the internet.
Tried with a current sim card from my cell phone i use... connected, comes up with a different error....cannot register at this moment, try again later...try later, same message...and so forth. so far it only cost me extra money and no result
For now I requested a refund for a non-working game, unless they come up with a workable solution.

I noticed these versions go all the way through the last game released, WarHammer. I now have 7 of these:
X-Men Legends II
High Seize
Asphalt II
Catan
System Rush
Civilization
WarHammer
and I've seen versions for One, Rifts, Mile High Pinball and Pathway to Glory Ikusa Islands. That makes 11 known versions. Plus I am assuming there are probably ones for Atari Masterpieces Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Can anyone confirm this?
The cards themselves are marked "Not for Sale" just like the loose ones pictured in thread. That makes me wonder if the early N-Gage "Not for Sale" versions came in any cases or were they just loose?
The reason I ask is that I am starting to collect these as well (finally completed my US collection plus Sega Rally!!) and wonder what would constitute a "complete" game. Right now I have 13 loose "Not For Sale" versions, including:
Rayman 3
SSX Out of Bounds
Red Faction
NCAA Football
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Jungle Storm
Ashen
FIFA 2004
FIFA 2005
Pathway to Glory
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Glimmerati
System Rush (not sure if this is just a loose Gold Master Review kit card)
I also noticed in this thread users have seen or have "NFS" versions of:
Xanadu Next
Spiderman
Sims Bustin' Out
Pandemonium (not marked "NFS"?)
Are these confirmed? Are their any others?
I did manage to see a "For Display Only" version of Tomb Raider, and won it on ebay. It's on the way from Australia. I'll post a picture of it when I get it. For now, here is the outside case:

Me personally, I only need 5 more to be complete:
Civilization
Rifts: Promise of Power
Mile High Pinball
Pathway to Glory: Ikusa Islands
X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse
These games don't come up anywhere very often, which means I am going to have to get them off of letstalk.
I am unsure if I am going to get payload, since I am going for complete, cart only, and don't feel like messing with downloads. I finally played the virtua cop and alien front beta's, but I don't put those in my collection (since I don't have cases or anything).
As Soon as I complete the collection, I plan on taking pics. I know you guys have probably seen complete n-gage collections before, but I am going to take pics anyway since I haven't completed a collection yet (I am still biting my bottom lip about buying Jack Bros for Virtual Boy).
Also, If my student loan check goes through a little faster, I should be able to get 12 NFR games as well, which would be awesome.

Nice collection. I like the Pathway to Glory Preview and Flo Boarding. some other hard to get games are Sega Rally (released in Australia?) and Rifts: Promise of Power signed copy (I now have 3, :D ). Usually, the last few retail releases seem to be the most difficult to find - Glimmerati and Xanadu Next are two that come to mind. The releases after that, which were available directly from Nokia Let's Talk, all the way through the last release, WarHammer, are all still pretty much available at their website.
Promos, previews, and kiosk demos can be hard to find. If you ever decide to part with yours, please let us know first! :)

By full versions do you mean with case and instructions? If so, no they are only the game cards. I am trying to figure out if there ever was anything else included with these early NFS games. So far it appears not.

I am not even sure if Tomb Raider was a NFS version of the game. The Pandemonium, WWE Aftershock and Tomb Raider game cards all look like the retail versions of the game. There is no NFS stamp on them and they have the Nokia hologram sticker on the side, as opposed to the other NFS game cards included which simply have a white bar running on the side where the holo-sticker should be.
Can you post a pic of the Pocket Kingdoms Beta and Tshirt?

any info on these?
Country specific releases perhaps?
Also, N-Gage forum lists a new game coming: Creatures of the Deep

I know that Xyanide started out originally for the N-Gage and the developer decided to instead make it work on all Symbian 60 phones, so I'm guessing that the other two titles are both Symbian OS games and not N-Gage specific.

Oh yes, collecting for n-gage is exciting.
I just bought x-men 2 and civilization from letstalk for 14.99 a piece.
That means that I only have 1 more game to go, and then I have a complete ntsc n-gage collection (mile high pinball).
if any of u have an extra, complete copy, let me know, because it is the last ntsc game that i need now.
What happened to the n-gage games on letstalk.com? Just two weeks ago, I was able to go to n-gage.com and buy n-gage games from letstalk.com via an interface that looked like the normal n-gage.com site. They had most of the later released (and some older ones) in stock.
Now, n-gage.com links to letstalk.com and it brings up the letstalk.com homepage with no mention of the n-gage (and the search function doesn't even bring up any n-gage games). Does anyone know what's up?
-frap
So the later games are more available in the USA as a download, but here in Europe they come on a MMC card?
Also, anyone know how to keep the light on during gameplay on the original N-Gage?
Some games have this feature built in, but not all. Is there another option?

If letstalk did get rid of all n-gage products, then i would be willing to pay one of you collectors very well for a new copy of mile high pinball, since there may be a chance that I can't get it from letstalk. If it comes to that, I assure you that it would be worth your while.

Well, I got this info from another german buddy, Windowskiller:
Barakel was written for the Spanish release of the QD, and comes/ came bundled with 'the making of Blade' (movie) on one MMC.
The same people also wrote Techwars and Freestyle, to be bundled with other QD releases.
Here's a Spanish deal:
http://www.game.es/ficha/ficha.asp?sku=036030&ati=a2sa11as44s
This MMC features Snakes, Techwars, and Underworld (the whole movie).
The same company also sold a QD/Freestyle edition, but it is sold out (as is the Barakel edition).
As for these, I d/l from a torrent, as they are not on cart (someone claims to have the Virtual Cop cart, but cannot confirm):
Maybe the Chinese game, Sango is on a MMC card, but we are still searching.

By full versions do you mean with case and instructions? If so, no they are only the game cards. I am trying to figure out if there ever was anything else included with these early NFS games. So far it appears not.
I'm not sure if that applies to the early NFS games as well, but the color bar on the right side of the MMC's label can tell you what should be included along with the MMC:
yellow = Gold Master Review Kit. With case and a mini-DVD. No manual.
orange = Preview copy. Just the MMC and a copy of the press release.
green = Point-of-Sale version (for shops to let people play the game before buying), MMC only
(sorry if that was already posted earlier, I haven't read the whole thread)
I did manage to see a "For Display Only" version of Tomb Raider, and won it on ebay. It's on the way from Australia. I'll post a picture of it when I get it.
Those are empty boxes only. Don't expect to find an MMC inside. ;)

So I finished my QD Collection for ntsc games.
It is the very first system that I own all the games for a specific region for. I did have a cool idea of busting out my photo printer to print out case-linings (or whatever they are called) for alien front and virtua cop (seeing as I have 4 extra n-gage games that are still sealed).
And the spanish people get cool stuff with their n-gage. All I got for both of my n-gage's were 32mb mmc cards, but the spanish get underworld on a mmc. that is pretty awesome.
Anybody know where I might be able to get a complete copy of Sega Rally. There used to be someone on eBay selling them all the time, but I missed my chance for it.
I also need another mmc card (one of mine I am using for midi ringtones for my phone). anybody got another cheap mmc card they are willing to part with.
Let me know. I found that I now have a bunch of sealed games that I haven't even played yet for n-gage since I just kept ordering them so fast.
Oh yeah, anybody have pictures of the cover art for alien front and virtua cop or know where I can find them?

Hello N-Gage collectors!
I recently put this N-Gage Games Database (http://www.consolecity.com/games.php/system_id-38/start-0/limit-25/region_array-a%3A0%3A%7B%7D/sort-title.html) together, and I wanted to make sure that I didn't miss any US released titles and also that I didn't miss any non-US exlusive releases.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This game sucks by the way... I can see why it got a limited release. The N-gage could certainly have handled something similar to the Saturn port (except the horizontal orientation, dammit) but it's even worse that the shite GBA version.

I've got a mint copy for only 8 Euro, though it wasn't sealed (which I didn't care about anyway). I don't know where SegaAges lives, but shipping from Germany isn't that expensive.
Got this on ebay:
nice Asphalt Urban GT promo, with big box, leather gloves, 'not for sale' game, 2004 game catalogue. all text is in German, so i'd say it's a German promo:

There should be a way to replace the cover. I know that when the QD came out, there were a bunch of different colored replacement faceplates you could get. I wish I had picked up some when they were still out (which didn't seem like all that long). I loaned my QD to my brother after he broke his phone, and he scratched the plastic over the screen up.

Well, a give-away for journalists only. It's not only an mp3 player. Among other features, it's also a usb memory stick and is filled with about 250 MB of assets from games that were shown at the E3 2006. Even from those that didn't see a release in the end.

They exist, among some others. But it's more likely to win in lottery than finding a copy of those. LOL
I just won Civilization on ebay, Euro 22.50.
My most expensive N-Gage title yet, even my Asphalt Demo box was cheaper.
Glad I got it though, 9 titles left for completion:
Looks like Atari Masterpieces II will be the most difficult to find, I haven't seen it on ebay once yet.

I think Glimmerati is the hardest one to find. At least for me, as I only collect sealed German releases (I want to have all games from the same Region). I've got the German release but not sealed.
Apart from that, only about 20 games missing currently before my collection of sealed games is complete. :)
How many German releases where there? Same as UK? Or less?
I have to say most of my N-Gage titles arrived sealed, but I always open them. Don't see a point of keeping games sealed, how you gonna read the instruction book?
WindowsKiller

All games were released in Germany, apart from NCAA and Sega Rally.
I normally don't care about sealed games as well. I try to get games sealed if possible but always open them. However, the N-Gage is one of the few systems where you don't need any special equipment to play backups, and sealed games are widely available and don't cost more than used games. So I rather get the games sealed and use backups to play.
ps: I never read the instructions of games. ;)

Hello Official NGAGE collectors thread.... I know this is not the right place to post this question but I figured it would be the best place. I recently acquired an ngage QD and a ton of games from a friend of a friend. Two of those games included were the NOT FOR RESALE generic labels with the versions on them. I am going to resell this lot on ebay as I was not a huge fan of the system or games. Are these "Not for Resale" Games something sought after by the ngage community or should I just toss them in my ebay lot so some random can get them. By the way the games are Rayman 3 and Red Faction.
What does the mighty thread think?

Hard to say, as there are a lot of different "Not for Sale" versions. Most important is the color code of the label. If it's green, then it's a Point-of-Sale demo, which is actually identical to the retail version. Those aren't that special. Yellow means Gold Master, not worth much if it's the MMC only with the Review Kit missing. Orange ones are probably worth most, as these are preview versions and most of them are betas.

HinterWars is available for quite a while now. I've downloaded it from the developer's website back in December 2006, but I can't even try it, as I can't go online with my N-Gage.
As for Creatures of the Deep, I don't see any downloads for this one. :eek 2: Always wondered why this game takes so long to get finished...
Yes, annoying that, I don't go online with my N-Gage.
I purchased Payroll for Euro 9.99. They send me the code. I put in the code and a message comes up saying: as an anti-piracy measure you now gotta go online with the N-Gage and register, only then you can play the game.
So I paid full price for a game I cannot play, as they don't provide an easier method to register even if you have your code (which basically should be enough). I complained, I even instructed my CC company to get my money back. They couldn't get it back, as the Payroll people say I got my code alright.
So to all people who don't go online with the N-Gage: Don't buy Payroll, it won't work.
Go to the torrent and d/l the full version instead.

The thing is you can downlaod the games on to a special kart and even phones that are not N-gages. You can use regular Nokia phones to play the games.
It is just a supped up cell phone using a diffrent system to run the games. The problem is not the games it is the target audience.
Personally I don't even have a celluar phone at all.

Nokia is even doing what I said at this moment. Creating other phones that can run N-gage games as well as other celluar phone games.
Also hey I am super happy that I am not getting radiation posion from a cheap version of the two way Radio. Cell phones edmits Hi frequency noise since especially in groups and has a small amount of radiation edmitting from them.

Um, while there is no questioning the atrocity of this grammar, and while I am highly skeptical about any notion of cell phones frying people's brains, this is not the first I have heard of other cell phones being able to run N-Gage games.
Back when the N-Gage still had an iota of relevance, I recall Nokia was quite upset when someone cracked the encryption intended to prevent this from happening. I also recall reading that the other cell phones available at the time were not actually fast enough to run the N-Gage games at full speed. Not that I'm terribly familiar with the rest of the details.

Hi all. I'm new to the forums, and was happy to see a thread of people talking about N-Gage collecting. Sorry to bump up such an old thread, but I'd figure this would be the best place to babble. I'm six games away (If I'm understanding that there indeed was a MMC release of Snakes) from having the entire collection, and then I got to reading about the MMCs that came with the N-Gage QD in Mexico! Oh boy, now I'm going to try to find those.
While surfing on Ebay.es I noticed a listing for a QD that came with a MMC of Million Dollar Baby, and then two games of Freestyle and Pool Friction. I didn't see those on the list, did anyone know about those?
And any tips on scoring Flo Boarding (I don't think I've ever seen that on the American Ebay, and I tried on Ebay.co.uk) and some of the tougher US releases? I lost an Ebay auction of a review copy of System Rush (it was real neat, even had a free Soundtrack CD) but I put in what I was willing to pay in the last ten seconds, 52.00 USD, and someone else's max bid was higher. I'm curious how high they bid. That's the only copy of System Rush I've seen in a while, and I'm still missing High Seize.

I know that underworld was packaged on a mmc in the spanish version (i believe it was the spanish versions, as in from Spain).
The other non us release I can think of off of the top of my head that got a full n-gage case and everything was sega rally.
Also, if you are looking for variants, as far as I know (I could be wrong), but there are variants of virtua tennis and also rifts: prmise to power.
Virtua tennis had a version (most common version) where the spine of the case was all white. There was also a release where the spine said virtua tennis.
There are also 2 versions of rifts: promise to power. There is a version that is autographed (I don't even remember who autographed it) and a version without a signature on it.
Also, for some strange reason, one of the toughest games for me to obtain was splinter cell: team stealth action. I have no clue why it was so tough to get, but get that if you have not already, because that one sucks to find.
The nice thing about n-gage collecting, is that if you are going for a full american release, while many games are not tough to fine, it is very rare to pay more than $20 for a game (and those are the later released games).
Since you are still on the hunt for games, some of the later releases may cause you come trouble. Catan, System Rush, High Seize, Mile High Pinball (I love that name), just to name a few.
Also, you picked a good name for your handle, I love it.

I still have a second copy for sale. Contact me if you're interested.
Freestyle and Pool Friction are ordinary S60 games, btw. Those bundles were sold in Spain, not in Mexico.
Aha, I see, I see. PMed about Flo Boarding-- huge sigh of relief from me! So, technically those games aren't N-Gage games... I won't worry too much then. I imagine the logistics of obtaining that cart from Spain wouldn't be too fun.
So, excluding the MMC movie and game bundles, I only need:
Crash Nitro Kart
Flo Boarding (Germany and UK only)
High Seize
Requiem of Hell
Snakes (Was there an official MMC release of this? I read there is, but as far as I knew it was just a download.)
System Rush
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action
And I'll be all done. I'm not too worried about most of them, except for High Seize and System Rush. I definitely need to check into the torrents for the unreleased games. I was a huge Alient Front Online nut and I wanna see how they did with it on the N-Gage.
First off, welcome to the boards.
2nd off, it depends on when you bid on that, because chances are, it was me that outbid you, since I won that from eBay.[Q/Quote]
It was just earlier this night. Noooo! How high was your bid, if that was you out of curosity?

Yeah, I actually snagged a copy of Sega Rally off of Ebay today. An Aussie has been selling for the last month and I just neglected to notice. It came out to 11.00 shipped, for a sealed N-Gage import. Not bad at all, although I hear the game is complete shit.

I'm not too worried about variants. If I see the normal spined version of Virtua Tennis, I'll pick it up. It's a common game, and I doubt most people would realize their VT with the normal spine is hard to come by. I'll agree with that statement about the cheapness of N-Gage collecting-- when I first started, I got 35 games, all complete and mint, with a mint QD and box for 60 dollars. Can't beat that. Then I believe LetsTalk.com had an awesome N-Gage sale and I picked up almost all of the later releases on the cheap. Then I went dormant for a year until I looked at my collection and said, "Holy crap, I'm that close!" So, now I gotta finish it. I'm going to be a bit depressed I left behind my first love of completionist collecting: Dreamcast. I've been dragging my feet for the last two years on finishing the North American releases. I'm only 15 titles away.
Also, you picked a good name for your handle, I love it.
Thanks! It's my handle everywhere on the net. If you see it anywhere else, it's me.

Well, Flo Boarding was part of a bundle as well. Thought you know that. Another N-Gage game only available as a bundle in Spain was Barakel. That was, unlike Freestyle and Pool Friction, not just an ordinary S60 game.
As for Snakes, this was never sold. It was given away by Nokia at various fairs. Very hard to find these days.

The autograph is by Kevin Siembieda. He's the guy who owns Palladiumbooks, the company which makes the pen and paper Rifts RPG which the N-gage game is based on.
Ironically, I'd say if non-autographed copies exist, they are exponentially rarer than the autographed copies.

I just wanted to say that it makes me happy that a portable that everybody and their brother used to slam at every opportunity has a thread on this forum that's 28 pages long. Nice!
Since my last post in this thread, I picked up a signed and sealed Rifts and a copy of Bomberman, putting me at around 42 games. Too bad my N-Gage QD won't start up anymore, even with a replacement battery.

I got sniped out of a bundle last year-ish that had High Seize and a couple of other games for a little over $50. A day later a copy of High Seize sold on its own for over $50 (sniped on that one, too).
Next time I see a copy on eBay, I'm taking a vacation day for when the auction ends just to make sure I can nab it :(

I am glad I purchased a 'full' version of Payload before the website went down.
Also, here on the forum someone showed off a sealed box of Space Impact, this thread was going on for numerous pages....'oh shall I open the box or not'? Nothing came of it though. Try a search here and you'll find it.
Isn't it time N-Gage gonna be moved into the Classic forum. I'd say so.

Is it really that rare these days? Makes me glad that I have a sealed copy as well as the Gold Master Press Kit.
Speaking of which, does anybody know how many Gold Master Press Kits were made? I have 11 of these and they all seem like they were for the later releases:
Asphalt 2
Catan
Civilization
High Seize
Mile High Pinball
One
Pathway to Glory: Ikusa Islands
Rifts
System Rush
Warhammer 40K: Glory in Death
X-Men Legends II
Were ones made for Atari Masterpeice Vol 1 or Vol. 2?
Also, does anyone have a running list of the loose card only "Not for Sale" versions? I have the following:
Ashen
Asphalt 2
FIFA 2004
FIFA 2005
Glimmerati
High Seize (marked "E3 Demo")
NCAA Football 2004
Pathway to Glory
Rayman 3
Red Faction
Rifts
SSX Out of Bounds
System Rush
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Additionally I have a boxed display version from Australia for Tomb Raider marked "Display Not for Sale" and a boxed preview version from the UK for Pathway to Glory. I know there were promo versions of this game as well that came with dog tags. Anything else out there like that?
What is the story with Space Impact? How many copies were supposedly made?
I not too much a promo hunter, but I have Asphalt German 'Nicht fuer den Verkauf', 'Not for sale' big box and racing gloves:

POS cards (artwork on the card with "Not For Sale" written over it) do exist for all games, though the very early ones have no label at all. Tomb Raider, Pandemonium, Tony Hawks, for example.
There are also other cards with green (POS, too), yellow (gold master), and orange (beta) stripes and no artwork. Those should exist for most games as well.
Additionally I have a boxed display version from Australia for Tomb Raider marked "Display Not for Sale" and a boxed preview version from the UK for Pathway to Glory. I know there were promo versions of this game as well that came with dog tags. Anything else out there like that?

The guy I bought my Sega Rally just posted a bunch more... but he's raised the price a bit. Now it's aproximately just under 15 USD shipped instead of the 11.50 USD shipped that I paid last week. Still a good price if you're looking for it, I'd think it'd be justified to get it for 15 considering it's AU only.

I think it's officially unreleased in the US, but Nokia decided to go download only basically the same day as, or maybe a day or two before, a couple games were released. Seems like Space Impact was partly manufactured before they made the decision final, hence a few "real deals" escaped.

What are you basing this on? I know for a fact that Nokia gave copies of this game to some of their marketing reps because that's where I got mine from. It was also included as a free game on the CD-Rom that came with the first release of the N-gage in certain European markets as I have exchanged e-mails with a few collectors who have that version. If it's not from Nokia, where could it be from?

The seal, which says "Topan" instead of "Nokia". Why do you ask if you claim to have a copy of it? (no offense meant, but the question sounded a bit odd) There were of course ordinary beta/pre-release MMCs given out to reps, just like of every other game. But I'm talking about this boxed version of Space Impact, not some loose MMCs.

Nope, that's not correct either. You're confusing different games here. The game on the CD-ROM was Space Impact Evolution, which was a freeware title and which is not the same as Space Impact.
Ah, but is the free CD game the same as the mmc version, as the CD version is called Space Impact Revolution X:

Well, I'm not sure which seal you are talking about. Mine is in the same box as yours, but it's sealed in Y Fold wrap. There is no hologram sealing sticker like regular retail N-gage games if that's what you mean. I've never seen a loose copy of Space Impact on a beta/pre-release MMC and like I said, the guy I got mine from was assigned to the Western US and he had several sealed copies at the time I got mine. I doubt Nokia would have sent him pirated stuff. Topan is a packaging company in China by the way which handles packaging for small electronics firms, as well as packaged food items. Perhaps your copy was a packaging test sample or something along those lines.
i dont care either way, food items or not, i need that Space Impact......

Actualy it's available on ebay (uk seller) for 4-5 pound sterling. (and it's a sealed press kit - the seller have like 10 copyes) - even I was surprized when I get it (along with other 10 games)
Also SonicN it's Not for Resale display only (box).

2. how many titles are released in TOTAL - i mean including prototypes.
Well, prototypes of unreleased games exist for:
Alien Front
Virtua Cop
Taito Memories
There are most likely othes, but the existence of those in the form of MMC cards is proven.
Prototypes of released games exist as well.

Not anymore. Had one at my Room of Doom, but I removed my galleries there because of the slowness of it and all the random errors that you get when trying to add/delete/modify something... The gallery wasn't up to date anyway.
It may come back someday using JAlbum on my own server.

I don't realy chase the proto's ... if they come in my way I will buy them - if not - i'm not in "pain" - I realy want just an oficial (memory card based) collection, I just love the small boxes of the games and the artwork from the covers/manual -
later edit: ... 21 more to go.

Somebody just popped an Atomic Fireball in that guy's mouth.
I admit I'm a sucker for Tom Clancy games, no matter how poor their resolution. Still hoping that NGage prices fall enough that I can get Ashen and some other games on the cheap.
That demo unit rodarkone has looks interesting. With a proper Sim card it might work as a regular NGage, don't you think?
And is that a soundtrack CD for System Rush?

1. no the demo units don't work as a regular phone - it must be resofted with a proper firmware first and this operation is almost imposible nowdays
2. yes - it's the system rush soundtrack (i said it before - i bough it from ebay.co.uk with a SMALL SMALL price - like 5 pounds - the game is branded review kit)
