Hi :)

A little about me:

I'm mostly into rpgs and some survival horror. I collect nes, snes, and playstation games.

Currently, I own a NES, SNES, Genesis, Dreamcast, ps1, ps2, gamecube, n64, xbox, and gameboy advance. On rough estimate, I probably own about 350 games for them altogether.

I'm also into tabletop gaming, anime, and reading fantasy novels.

I'm 22, I work in law enforcement, and I'm a practicing eclectic wiccan.

I share my life with a plethora of critters including Anakin the shetland sheep dog, Diva the gender confused kitty, Muggle the bunny, frodo the fish, and 4 horses that I use for competitive barrel racing.

Hmm...I guess that about sums me up for now :)

I'm looking forward to participating on the boards!

Hey, I found this site the other day Googling around for NES stuff. I'm from Massachusetts, and collect mostly NES/SNES/GC and Playstation 1 games. Mostly racing, extreme sport, action RPGs, and horror games.
Other consoles i love: gb, gbc, gba, gba sp, nes, snes, sms, genesis, dc, gc, psx, and the four best computers ever, maybe you've heard of them? Apple II, C64, Vic 20, Amiga.

I also write Mod music, so if you're looking for some good music for your next game release, hit me up! ;)

I just wanted to add that my favorite gaming character is yoshi. I love anything yoshi related. Whenever we play anything yoshi related I get to be him. My favorite yoshis are the black and white ones from yoshis story for the N64.

Hi there!
My name is Dawn Adey and I'm 23.
My boyfriend Ralph (Sph1nx) posts here a nice bit I think.
I'm mostly a modern console / PC gamer who sticks to the "typical" girl games. Sims, Nintendogs, Puzzle games etc. I love old school SMS games though. Alex the Kid is the best!
Since Ralph bought a DS I've started expanding my gaming a lot more and am currently addicted to Mario DS.
Figured Id start browsing the boards looking for stuff about games I can con Ralph into buying for me, and maybe (if hes lucky) get a few ideas for Xmas gifts for him.

heya, heard about this place through cheapassgamer.com. I'm james, 24, collector when I have money, gamer when I don't. I'm from a suburb of chicago, but I'm moving to the city pretty soon. I own a Snes, Nes, Ps2, Xbox, Cube, DS, Dreamcast and an X'eye but my xbox tends to get the most time, since I'm a fiend for Live fighting games.

See ya around :-)

Nes-a-holic (don't know if that's his alias here or not) told me about this place, so I thought I'd join up. I have heard of it before he mentioned it though.

My real name is Ian, I'm 20. I'm from Ontario, Canada. I run my own video game website: http://www.ripgames.anxproduction.com

I also cover NES music (like play NES stuff w/ guitar, bass and drums) and make it heavy.

I found this place while looking for information on how to repair my intellivision controller.
I have a few other old systems including: Atari 2600, Sega Master System, Genesis, and NES. I have 95+ games for the atari, and about 15-20 games each for the NES and intellivision.
My friends have some things like the Super NES and the Commodore 64 (and I too have some old computers, including Commodore PET, TRS-80, and Kaypros).
I have not bought games for anything newer than the PS 1 - new systems and games are too expensive, and I'd rather waste my money on things that are more worthwhile - like old games anyway.

Howdy. I have viewed the site many times, a friend told me about it. He would check it out when we were looking for video game info online. After him saying just register for the past few years my lazy a$$ just did. Great site. Been playing since atari 2600 first came out, intellivision, colecovision and never stopped. I also dropped many a quarter at arcades, pizzerias, a bike shop and other places that were good enough to have arcade games. I have most common systems and a great many games. I do not have any idea how many. It also has been my experience to have bought the same title more than once by sheer disorganized collecting. Luckily it has never been a huge hit. Then again I don't go around spending hundreds of dollars for a single title. Then again, ebay can help relieve my accidents. I don't have a master list of games I own because I bought some lots of games and never got to organizing.

Hello,

I am 25 and form the suburbs of Detroit Michigan. My obsession with console gaming began August of 2004 when I decided to dump my emulators and get the real thing.
Before that my NES, Genesis and JVC X-Eye just sat in a box. Now my collection has grown to 11 consoles, 2 portables, and 323 games that are all connected to my 65 inch Toshiba. Every thing I obtained was purchased at local stores, garage sales, and donations form my friends. All expect my extension cables for my Dreamcast, those where bought online. I hard to say what my favorite game or system is, but I would cry if anything happened to my top loader NES. My goal right now is to get all of the American released console systems post 1984 and the “must have” games for each system. I enjoy reading the stuff here it give me ideas on what to buy next. Thanks to all.

I love all videogames and I especially like older games (specifically PC games from the late 80's-90's and the 16-bit era of consoles.) I collect NES as well but my true obsession is SNES.

That's about all I can tell you right now.

Hayya !

My name is Laurent, I'm french, 32 and I am now living in California.
I found this excellent site, and most of all, this awesome community of gamers many years ago. Probably back in 1997. I have a deep passion for video games and I've been collecting them for more than fifteen years now. They require a fair amount of space. But most of you know about this unfortunate issue. I still wonder why I never subscribed and posted here though... anyway, here I am.
I am also the web-master of Video Game Den (http://www.vgden.com) a 'new' web site dedicated to Video Games. 'new' because its content is coming from two other of my web sites, much older, and I have merged everything together into one and bigger database. It now covers the PC Engine system and the Super Famicom with more than 200 game reviews, but expect more systems in the future.

Nice to meet you all !

Howdy.

been gaming since the first christmas that PONG came out... so i am not new to it.

Been playin old and new systems, looking forward to the 360... and others as they continue to evolve in speed and design.

Fav system is the DC as it was so underdogged in by the other two game systems (or is that 3)...but it was superior in what small library it had.... it had GREAT capcom support...

SOME day i'm gonna have to set down (haha) and figure out what all i have.... thousands of games by now...and growing daily...thanks to a throw away american society.

i think i have all of the 2600 versions (domestic anyway)...

well, keep playing!

enjoy

Hi all.

I've been gaming since I was in grade 6, when I got an Amiga 500 for xmas. It was a big upgrade from the archaic Pong clone that was my family's only videogame, and cultivated my interest in not only games, but also computers and electronics.

I'm not all that interested in the pre-16-bit stuff, although I have played a lot of SMS, NES, and VCS games, as well as many classic arcade games.

My favourite types of games are fighting, puzzle, fps, and adventure.

I don't like RPGs. and I suck horribly at music, racing, and sports games.

Aside from gaming, my biggest interests are electronics, physics, and martial arts.

Probably should of done this awhile back, but I wasn't actively posting much last year, just lurking around.

- Who are you?- Mike, Mikey, Michael. 20 years old.

- Where you live?- Burbank, CA

- How you found the forums?- I dont quite remember, probably heard of it from Gamefaqs, I also remember seeing a spot on this site done on one of TechTv's shows (when it wasnt g4 yet)

- What your favorite games are?- PSO, Shenmue series, Resident Evils, Silent Hills, FFVII, FFIX, Grandia II, Zelda series, Perfect Dark...I could go on and on...

- What systems you collect for?- Not for any specific system just yet. But I'm always keeping an eye out for RPGs and Survival Horror games and whatever else strikes my interest.

- What you do in "real life"?- Working at an car appraisal company right now, part-time. Going to school as well. Getting a degree in Fire Technology, future firefighter. Learning Japanese.

- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting,
etc? Love friends and family (cherish them so), basketball (helps that I'm tall too), working out, horror and comedy movies, videogames (of course). etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.

Hi Everyone,

My name's Garry and I'm from Edinburgh in Scotland. I'm 26 years old and work in IT (mostly networking and server stuff).

I found the site and these forums while searching Google for rarity lists.

My favourite games are usually platformers and RPGs. I don't collect for any one system but my Master System collection is the biggest at the moment with around 50 games and I'd really like to make the SMS the first system I have 100 games for (especially because it was my first console as a kid).

I'm currently going through the task of pulling all my systems out from storage to catalogue (and play with!) them.

I've been collecting for about ten years after having got rid of my original childhood games machines (Sinclair Spectrum, Sega Master System and Commodore Amiga) which I've regretted ever since I sold them. I'm having fun seeking out titles I played when I was younger and also trying out sytems and games I never owned or couldn't afford at the time. I also enjoy playing the modern consoles.

See you all around!

Been lurking for a while so I figured I should register finally.

From Ohio and I own my own construction business. I love my job, but don't like to work :D

Currently engaged and we have a 10 year old son. All 3 of us play games every day. My soon to be wife plays more than I and the son do.

I used to collect games fairly religiously for a long time, but recently decided to sell off almost everything. I kept my complete TG 16 collection, complete 5200 collection, all of my rare Xboxes and some DC stuff, PS1/PS2 stuff.

I am more of a modern gamer now as I find newer games more interesting. I still go back and play the oldies but just in short stints.

Hello,

I've been reading these forums for a little while and I've decided to register.

My real name is Bryce and I live in the Detroit, MI area.

I was turned onto the site by a fellow gamer and I've been hoplessly addicted.

I've been collecting video games and systems for quite sometime. It all started for me with a little system called the Atari 7600 (even though it blew up  ) then to my one of my favorite systems the Sega Master System and I've been a gamer ever since. These days I'm in to hunting around stores to find good game deals and own many of the current gen and 16-bit era consoles.

I look forward to many great discussions. :D

My name is Justin. I am from Santa Barbara, California where I am a student of philosophy and computer science at the local City College. I plan on transferring to UCSB. I spent 6 years after high school as a musician, before I shaped up and hit the books as I entered my mid twenties. I study Karate and play the trumpet when I'm not in school.

I found DP while searching for classic gaming resources and communities to interact with. I have been collecting for nearly a decade, focusing on the NES. My favorite games are The Legend of Zelda, Wizardry, and Ninja Gaiden. I also honor my roots as I am quite proficient at Defender and Galaga.

I began collecting when I realized just how much I missed over the course of my gaming career, which began in the summer of '86. It is now my personal goal to learn to program the kind of games I could be happy with, weather I market them or not. I am happy to join this wonderful community. Long live the classics!

I'm a food service peon in Wisconsin, and I found this site awhile back while I was playing in google looking for stuff having to do with MAME.
I love 'old school' games like Mr Do!, Pac Man, Tetris, and Klax. I like RPG games too, like the Capcom D&D games and newer stuff like Neverwinter Nights.

Good day, DP'ers. I'm Anton, I live in Leiden in The Netherlands, where I am a CS student at Leiden University. I'm 21 years old, and I've been collecting for 3 to 4 years now. My favourite generation is the 32-bit one, and hence my collection focuses on the Sega Saturn (mostly) and to a lesser extent the PS1 (mainly PAL stuff). Recently I've started buying arcade stuff too, for one I have a modest Japanese ST-V collection which I use with my homemade supergun (my holy grail right now is obtaining a Radiant Silvergun cart for it).

Apart from gaming, I also collect vinyl records and Laserdisc movies, I fiddle around with electronics and (assembly) programming, love reading decent books, strive to attain an unreasonably archaic vocabulary in Dutch and English, do a lot of cycling, and am a board member for a student club (takes a considerable amount of time).

I've posted my friend codes in the 'friend code' thread in the modern gaming section. Hope you add me! -y

Hobbies:gaming (duh), reading, listening to music, watching baseball and football ( and getting into indoor soccer more and more ), playing chess ( playing online and starting to get a little better ) among other things

My Collection:

I don't know how many games of each I have but I don't have many anymore =(
My younger brother pilfered and sold quite a few but here are the systems I have:

Sega Master System ( 17 yrs old still going strong )
SNES
Sega Genesis
N64
Sega Dreamcast
Sony Playstation
Nintendo Gamecube

I have a few game series I like such as: Super Mario Bros, Suikoden (sp?), Resident Evil, Wonderboy, Zelda, and Castlevania.

I like RPG's ( obviously with Suikoden ) and action games, but I can't go wrong with some good side scrolling action either.

I'm one of those on and off gamers. I play ofr a while, real life gets in the way ( such as my recent wedding ) and then I get back into it.

I'm hoping to slowly rebuild my game collection and try and get a few more systems ( NES , Sega Saturn and 32x ) and more games.

Once I get a house the wife promised me a room of my own so I'm going to set it up with my systems =) I'm hoping to set up a rig so I can have all them connected and just use them as I want anytime without having to connect and disconnect them all the time.

Feel free to message me anytime =)

I just found these forums tonight, so I registered in hopes of becoming a true collector.

My name is Joey. I live in Savannah, GA but soon to be back in school in TN.

I found these forums while searching for an NES rarity list. I now refer to the Online Rarity Guide here daily.

I am a Nintendo enthusiast at heart, but love many other systems as well. Being only 18 yrs old and having just graduated high school, I am just beginning to break into collecting. I have mainly been collecting for the NES, but hope to move to other consoles as funds become available.

My favorite console game currently is Donkey Kong Country.

My day job is waiting tables. People are mean to me. I deal with it.

I definitely plan to be a regular on these boards henceforth.

I stumbled across these forums today, although I have been to the site before a few times.

My name is Andy Saito. I was active in VG fandom back in 91-95 or so. Since then, not so much. In fact, not really at all. Those years were amazing, though. Almost like an alternate life - slaving away on issues of my 'zines, using a crappy handheld B&W scanner, photocopying at my Dad's office, coming home to a room full of thermal fax paper with the latest press releases, attending a couple CESs in Chicago, a couple CES Vegas, the first E3...and making lots of great friends. I edited Totally Super NES and GEA News, and was a part of the crew that started the short-lived (but well-intentioned) GEA - Gaming Enthusiasts of America.

It's really a shame that I didn't keep in touch with great people like Chris Johnston, Sean Pettibone, Tyron Rodriguez and Zach Meston (and many others...this is not a complete list!). I do regret that. However, going to college was a priority at the time, and it really took over.

Since then, I have not really been active at all in the VG world. I went to college, worked at Disney World, worked on Disney Cruise Lines, lived in the UK, and now I am back in the Toronto area as a call centre manager.

I have been married almost five years (to a wonderful British lass!), and we have a 14 month-old son.

I will do my best to frequent these forums as often as I can, especially to catch-up on old times.

Hi everyone. I've already made several posts here so some of you might have already seen me around.

I've used the online rarity guide here several times and finally decided to register as a member. Not really a whole lot to say other than I'm an "old school" gamer mainly with NES and SNES. I collect rare games NES games and am always up for a GOOD trade. I don't own a whole lot of rare games but I've got several trades and buys in the making right now. I hope to get to know this place and all its members :D

If anyone has an extra Rodland they're willing to sell for a decent price or a box and manual for Mr. Gimmick, I'd be much obliged to purchase 'em! :D

Hi, I'm Octane. Some of my previous names on the Internet are Shadow57(not used anymore), SonicGT, Shinespark, and tux_octane(Octane is short for this.) I'm also known as PvtMilesPrower in online gaming. Now, I don't have the biggest gaming collection, but I'm trying. I mostly collect NES and SNES games, though I do pick up this-gen games every now and then. I have an N64 in storage in my basement that I hope to hook up again sometime and start collecting for. I also hope to get a Sega Genesis. After that, THEN I'll start getting less common systems and those before NES (Intellivision being the first there.) By the way, I received for Christmas around 20 NES and SNES games, so yay for me!

So, hello!

Hey all. My name is David and I've been building up a small collection of classic console games over the past several years. I found this forum after hearing about and reading Digital Press' printed guides. I'm looking to build up my collection a bit: add some games, perhaps a few consoles. I've also been thinking of putting together an arcade cabinet of some sorts as well.

In "real life", I live in Framingham, MA and working as a programmer for a small producer of casual games. A few years ago, I graduated from a local university, WPI. Before then, I originated from Houston, TX.

Hello everyone.

My name's Chris, I'm from the UK, and I make my meagre living as a freelance journalist.

I've recently become much more eager to boost my retro collection, and sample some of those games I missed out on first time around.

I'm a 23, collect NES mostly, got 127 games for the NES, but nothing too rare. My moderen gaming is done on PC and Playstation 2. I am a big PC fan but the selection of game coming out is low. What happen to the huge market of Simulation games that existed in the mid 90"s. The new games or to pertty with no real gameplay. Anyway hi.

Ahh Rejinx, looks like you're from the same town I'm from, looks like there's a fellow collector in my area after all.

And I've been here a year and never intried myself, I'm 30 and am just getting started on collecting old Gameboy, Genesis,NES, and SNES games, because frankly I'm becoming less interested in modern consoles and more interested in retro, the end.

I was introduced to this forum by none other than Ed Oscuro, we're both mods at the Castlevania Dungeon Forums, and in a chat one night before I became mod he introduced me to this place.

Hello !

I've just registered myself here so here's a little introduction:

My name is Jelle, age 20, and i'm from Belgium.

I just discovered this site a few days ago when i was bored and started surfing the net looking for some gaming sites and especially game collectors, and so i ended up here in the game-rooms section and looked at all the pictures and such...and now i've decided to join because it seems like a fun place here 8-)

My main hobby is actually pro-wrestling but i've litterally spend my entire youth with nintendo games, i've had the nes when i was only 3 years old ( or young) and then came snes and so on....because i was almost always sick when i was little, my parent's decied to buy that stuff for me so i had something to play with inside the house and boy....if they only knew how that simple 'toy' would change my life LOL

I actually had a pretty nice collection already, lots of games and a few nice merchandise items, but then, one day, i sold it all.....because i saw a wwf (wrestling) pinball machine and i just had to have that in my collection, but since other people were already trying to buy it i had to be very quick to pay first and well, i needed money.....

So ok, i have that pinball machine now and i'm VERY happy with it, it's a huge collector's item and very hard to come buy in good working condition.

But, the negative side was that now i didn't have any games at all anymore and it's a part of me that will stay forever and so i'm just now beginning to "collect" again, even though i'm not quite sure if i'm willing to start all over again.....i did buy a snes though this wee kat a flee market with some games, and some old Nes games inc a boxed zelda 8-) , and today i bought a 10 inch megaman x figure so you see, i'm already starting again even before i'm sure i even want to do it again lol, i just can't resist.

Well, at least i'll never give up on nintendo, i've had everything, ps1,ps2,xbox....but nothing beats nintend ofor me, i'm probably just a bit sentimental about it because i've grown up with it but still, they're games just have something about them that can't be matched by other game company's.

Ok i'm gona stop whinin' now, 'till next time !!
Byeeeeeeee and Happy newyear to all of you.

Hi, my name is Burkhart, I'm from Germany and my main collection area is anything from Nintendo. I try to get a complete N64 collection (still way to go ^^) as well as a complete E-Reader collection, but I also play and collect games for DC, PSX, PS2, PC, N-Gage and for any other Nintendo platform.
In real life I am a student of asian science, learning Chinese, and a mod and editor at gamecubex.net (a German Cube-site). The site might not be a huge thing, but at least it got me to last year's Eł. ^^
I don't have a favorite genre or setting or amount of gore ^^ or whatever. I just play anything that's good...except for most sports, car racing and simulation games.

Hello everyone! Another noob enters the forums!

My name's Andy, and I'm an alcoholic.... nope wait wrong room...

My name's Andy, and I've been collecting games for as long as I can remember.

I got my first ever machine - A ZX Spectrum 48k, at the ripe old age of 3 years old. Apparently I used to hammer the keys on my brother's so hard, that he bought a new one and gave me the old one. I've been hooked on gaming ever since. I've gone through the ranks - Spectrum, C64, Amiga, Snes etc etc, until I'm finally here at the pinnacle of gaming - the Xbox 360.

I collect video games as well as my collection of over 46 consoles and handhelds.

I mostly specified in Dreamcast (400+), PS1 (750+), and Saturn (200+) games.

Unfortunately my circumstances have changed and I'm having to wave goodbye to a huge amount of my collection. It's heartbreaking to know that all the games I worked hard to obtain are just being sold off to the person with the biggest wallet, but I currently have no other choice.

I came to Digipress to find out about some of my rarer titles - how much they're worth, and if anyone would buy them.

So here I am.

If you want to look at some previous games from my collection I had to sell, my Ebay ID is Andyversion2. Feel free to look at my current listings and previous ones to see what I've already had to part with :( :( :( .

Anyway, pleasure to meet you all.

(sorry first time I clicked Post New Topic instead of reply, can one of the mods please delete the other one? thnx)

Hello everyone,

I joined the group because I was refered to it by a yahoo group I joined, and they said I'd fit in just fine here!

I started collecting games about 4 years ago, but I also had to bonus of never getting rid of any of my systems, right now my console collection consists of:
Top Loading NES,SNES,N64,Sega Genesis,Sega Saturn,Sega Dreamcast,Game Boy Advance,Phillips CD-I, and of course, my X-Box.

I'm always interested to hear about systems, all "retro systems" as I'm trying to find a hand held TurboGraphx and pretty much any other system that I don't currently have.
I'm sure I'll be around on the forums, and my Y! screen name is the_humor_in_blasphemy

Yo, I'm a guy from Venezuela, I have a nice collection I don't really focus on making it bigger, but I like to buy games from the past that I enjoyed renting as a kid and those I have recently discovered that I enjoy.

Most of the games from my collection are N64 games (it's my favorite console) but my SNES collection might catch up someday if I don't stop buying SNES games :P

I also like new consoles but I barely have the money to buy new games. However, I recently bought a DS with Mario & Luigi and I'll receive Animal Crossing WW later in the year.

My consoles are(in order of purchase):

SNES - 14 games
GB - 7 games
N64 - 16 games
GBA - 1 game
GC - 11 games
GBC - 5 games
NDS - 1 game

What's up guys.

After participating in my second South Jersey Game Night, I was told I had to register to the forums. So here I am, :D

23 years young, I hail from Delaware and have a mass of gaming utensils stashed in my basement. My collection boasts everything from 2600 and Colecovision to Turbografx to Gamecube and beyond.

Grandma (lol) Chandler and I have known each other irl for a little over 14 years now, and I have him to thank for the thousands of dollars I've pumped into digital refreshment. I currently play EverQuest *ducks* on the Povar server but I always make time for console gaming.

Fav game atm: Gain Ground - Genesis
Fav game all time: Secret of Mana - SNES

Can't think of anything else to add, except I hope to get to know you folks better. Oh and thanks to Nick for the inspiration for my username! :P

Peace!

Well its been a while since I joined and thought it was time for a formal introduction...

I am an avid game/gadget enthusiast who although not a true collector, respect those that do as I think it is one of the more entertaining hobbies out there. I worked in the video game field for a long time but recently returned to school to finish some preparation for some career oriented goals. I don't dedicate as much time as I used to playing like I did back in my 8-bit (nes) heyday, but I still enjoy a good go round (recently with Resident Evil 4). I think DP represents the forefront in classic collecting as well being just a classy establishment in general. I'm honored to be a member of such a great community and look forward to contributing in my own little way.

Originally from the UK but now living in Winnipeg, Manitoba with my Wife and baby.

I'm 29, (30 next month @_@ ) and have been into video games most of my life. Had a Spectrum 48k growing up, traded up to an Atari ST in my early teens and got into PCs around 19/20. Console wise I went SNES, PSX, PS2. I also play around with emulation for just about everything these days.

Pleased to meet you. :)

My name is Jason from the oh-so-rainy state of Washington. Outside of gaming, I'm an avid Seahawks fan (yes, even when they lose) and work a standard 40 hrs a week. But enough about "real life"... Let's talk more about gaming. ;)

My initial interest in video games began in these dark caverns known as "arcades" back in the 80's. Since I was just a kid, I didn't have much money to actually play the games, but watching other people play was free and almost as fun. Once I learned that I could actually play "Donkey Kong" at home on the Atari 2600, that's when my collecting began (although I didn't realize it yet). Leaving out quite a few details inbetween, this brings us to the present day...

I actually stumbled upon this forum as I was searching for the rarity of some systems I own (and continue to search for). My admittedly unattainable goal in life is to own every game system ever made. I currently own 90+ systems (including handhelds) and am always searching for more. Needless to say, eBay has been my friend. I'm also extremely lucky to have a wife who understands my passion. :)

01-22-2006, 11:59 AM
Hey all, I have been a member for a while, but I don't remember introducing myself, and honestly I almost never post here, but I want to change that, so here goes: I go by Lunchbox, or online The Infamous Lunchbox. I prefer not to give out my real name. I live in Utah, and find that Utah has incredible deals on incredible games (I am talking a $8 mint copy of Panzer Saga, and other insanities left and right. Maybe people are just dumb here!). I found these forums years ago looking for system info on some obscure stuff. It was great to find out there are other "freaks" like me.
My favorite games (as of now, they change constantly):
Tenchi Wo Kurau II, Sega Saturn
Contra Hard Corps Sega Genesis (somebody stole my copy though, I am seriously burned here)
Dracula X: Rondo Of Blood PCE, great title
Guardian Heroes Sega Saturn
Klonoa PSX
Incredible Crisis PSX
Fire and Ice NES
Lolo 1,2, and 3 NES
Pirates! Nes
Pirates!Gold! Genesis
Blazing Star Neo Geo (I have a MVS)

I don't know if you really can call me a collector, as I only buy games I want to play, but every game I own has to be complete, and mint. Weird huh? The only system I actually collect for is the NGPC, I'm almost done there, only about 9 games left now, too bad they're all rare as sin. Right now I am trying to finish picking up the last of the Genesis, TG/Duo/PCE, Saturn, NES, SNES, and Sega CD games I want. I know that's a lot to buy for, add in I still buy current games and it's awful.

In real life I am a laboratory technician for a medical lab. I prefer the title Urine Wrangler though. It makes my job feel more... Adventurous I suppose. Taming the wild urines of the land.... And well, I will just stop right there, I get to see a lot of interesting things at my work, including amputated body parts, organs, and even a entire human brain with a attached spinal cord once. Good times.

Outside of gaming I enjoy so-called "extreme" sports, although I don't think there is anything athletic behind skydiving, repelling, and the like. Really, anybody can do it, and I am far from great shape (not fat, just unhealthy). I also enjoy bowling immensely. I read a lot, I own about 3,000 books, and used to work in a library. I also own hundreds and hundreds of comic books. My current favorite is The Walking Dead, followed closely by Pirate Club! and Ultimate Iron Man. I stick more to sci-fi and horror/mystery comics though. I write a little in my spare time, and go to college, where I have no idea what I am doing.

Now you know a lot about me, but how you wonder did I get into gaming? Of all things encouragement from my parents. My brother and I got a Ti-99 when I was young, and my parents encouraged us to "program" and play games on it. Later on they also bought us a NES, and I played Colecovision at my friend's house constantly before that. My brother and I bought our Genesis together, and well, it was all downhill after that. My 3rd job was in a video game store, where I worked for 5 years, and ended up as General Manager (I quit due to differences with owners) and due to that place I amassed about 2,500 games and who knows how many systems (about 40-50 systems, that's with handhelds) before a major sell off. I still own about 700 games, but I no longer play rpg's and games that demand tons and tons of hours. Now am tracking down all the great shooters and platformers I discarded or passed by in the past.

Whew, that was a lot. Nice to meet you all. See you around.

Hi everybody, I'm Ryan 'StarSoldier' Genno and I'm just another Canadian video game collector here that loves this stuff. I have playing games all my life so there is no stopping now, eh? I have been collecting them for nearly a decade now here is my scary count list so far:

640 NES (almost complete)
370 Sega Genesis
290 Super Nintendo
100 Sega Master (almost complete too)
140 Playstation (not even close)
2 Vectrex (yeah, that one isn't so impressive)
and a bunch of others

You can read my opinions on all sort of games at my own personal website at www.videogames101.com (shameless plug!). I'm looking to meeting other gamers who share my hobby.

Hello all!

I'm Cristiano, a 28 y/o brazilian dude that loves old videogame systems.

It's nice being part of this forum. I've been visiting DigitPress for some years, but i never noticed that there was a Forum. Lol! So, i decided to come in and make part of this nice community.

Well, i collect some games and systems. My collection's not that large, but i really like all my games. The systems are:

- NES
- Game Boy Classic
- Game Boy Color
- Sega Master System
- Super Nintendo
- Nintendo 64
- Playstation

I don't have any newer systems yet because they're expensive to buy here, in Brazil. But i will!

I don't consider myself as a "collector". I'm just a guy that loves videogame and want to have the games i like most. I don't buy games for standing still on shelves, getting covered with dust. I buy games for playing them!

If you want to check my collection, just send me a msg. I'm still building my list here into Digitpress, but i already have it published on IGN and Gamespot.

I think that's all. See ya, fellas! And sorry for my crappy english!

Hi, I'm Ryan from Nashville, tn. Currently own 20 something systems along with over 1000 games with about 60 dups. Just like collecting and playing, don't like sealed games cus I'll just open them, fill out the registration card, and play the game.

Hi, I'm Derek... I got my first Game Boy Pocket the Christmas right after it was released. I don't know when that is nor do I care, but I was born in 1990 so that can give you an idea. :)

Only recently did I start to care about my stuff as much as I do so I started recollecting and protecting all of my stuff. I mainly love Nintendo handhelds and random merchandise. I am only 15, and can't get a job, so my collection is kinda slow growing until this summer. Then, I will hit garage sales and can hopefully drive and stuff. My current collection is:

Nintendo DS:
Electric Blue system (I had Titanium since release date then sold to buy blue)
Nintendogs stylus shell
Nintendogs lunchbag and screen wipe
Electroplankton (import), Touch!Kirby (import), Super Mario 64 DS, Wario Ware: Touched!, Yoshi Touch'n'Go, Nintendogs: Chihuahua and friends, Metroid Prime: Hunters demo, Meteos, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Game Boy:
I sold all my advance stuff recently except for my GCN>GBA link cable.
Game Boy Color: Clear Purple (just bought today for $11 at EB, near mint)
Tetris (which I have had since I got my pocket)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Kirby's Pinball Land (I LOVE THIS GAME)
Pokemon: Crystal
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Pokemon Pinball (I love this one as well. I still have the original battery that came with it.)
Game Boy Printer w/ 4 rolls of paper: White, yellow, blue, and a blue roll in the printer.
Game Boy Camera Official Guide (funny to read through)

My goal is to get all 6 base colors of the Color, get any different colors of the Pocket I can find, an Original, any colors of it I can find, and then I may work on GBA. I will also get the DS Lite as soon as I get money when it comes out.

I do have quite a few other systems/games, but my Nintendo portables are all I care about.

I found the fourms while reading thru my Power Up! book thru refrance that was listed a source
My favorite games are ps1 era rpgs but my tastes extend toanything but sports titles because i just am not particularly good at them.
I Collect mostly for my ps1 its hard because 2 major factors 1 i am poor 2 the game has to be complete and in mint condition thus making it very expensive(i like most people here i asume like games in exelent condition)
in real life i am the assistant manager for the game stop (yes i know it sounds fun but sometimes i wish i had a normal job)
i mostly as an extetion of my job have a very extensive gameing library from everything from my nes to todays consoles i would love to find some forum discussions on ps1 hard to find games so ill start looking and sugestions would be great.

Hi, my name is Sean and I'm a student at WVU. I've been a gamer since playing on my Dad's Atari 2600 when I was almost too young to remember. My first system was a SNES which I still own. Since then I've bought a Virtual Boy, N64, Xbox, NES, Genesis, all in that order. I also own every Game Boy model from the Original all the way up to the DS. I don't own a micro yet, I'm waiting for the price drop. I'm still trying to index all my games on the computer, but I'm a bit pressed for time and being lazy doesn't help.

I've already found this forum and the DigitPress to be an AMAZING reference tool and I hope I can eventually contribute at least something to this great community. I'm usually a reader for the most part, but I will chime in from time to time.

Later,

My name is Marcus and I am 34 yo and live in Sweden.

I have been playing since childhood starting with the NES and a GameBoy. Later I bought a MD+MCD+32X and then became a big Sega fan.

For a couple of years that followed I had a break in gaming but when I bought the Gamecube at launch the interest started to grow again. My old stacked away consoles got to see the daylight and the retro feeling playing them was immense :) .

Now I will buy a system or two that I missed during my break. It will most likely be a Saturn and a Dreamcast. For the future i really look forward to the release of the Revolution.

The systems that I collect are Nintendo and Sega.
My favourite games are Mario and Zelda for Nintendo and for Sega I really enjoy their arcade conversions.

Hello, My name is Jonathan im from Lafayette, Louisanna. I started video gaming around 4 when my mom bought an atari. I used to frequent arcades while my mother and grandmother would shop. I remember playing dragons lair and being to young to realize the game was playing and just wasting money. My real videogaming craze kicked in when I got my nes it was all I played for the longest time. I played heavily upgrading as new systems came out, then something happened.. I got addicted to everquest and sold all my old games..my snes, my psx with alot of rares.. I didnt wanna console game anymore I thought.

Fast forward to the present. im 27 now Im the assistant manager at a local gamestop and im collecting. I have almost all my old games I sold stupidly again , I collect snes, nes, genesis, dreamcast, ps2, etc. Hoping to one day come across a neo geo.

I came across this board because somewhere I found the online rarity guide linked.. discovered the forum here and fell in love.. Hope to have fun, make some friends and contribute where I can..

Hey, my name is Brian P. Sulpher, and I come here by way of the NES General board at www.GameFAQs.com. The reason I come is that I am in search of information upon the crook named NMorgan, a fellow NES fan for whom I used to have some respect.

I am a fairly dedicated NES player, who has done a fair share of FAQs and IGN Guides (freelance work) in the past 3.75 years. Nice to meet you dudes.

Hey everyone! :D

My name's Matt, 20 years old, Linguistics major at Montclair State U., NJ.

A short time ago I discovered the digital press store, fell in love with it, and now, much to my liking, I'm the *second* employee there! :D

My first day was today, and I loved it so much!! ^_^ Joe and Jenn are absolutely amazing, and I'm looking forward to going to work now ^.^v

I've had a controller in my hand since 1988 when I got my first NES. I am a HUGE Mega Man fan, which began when I beat Mega Man 2 (best game EVER) when I was only 5 years old. I like pretty much all games, except for Grand Theft Auto. My favorite genres though, are RPG and Action.

I may be new here, but I look forward to meeting you guys, chatting with you, and working at DP!

Here's to the start of something great!

Hey Everybody -

I've been a lurker here for a long time, but finally decided to join up. I'm mostly into the old stuff (NES/Genesis/SNES, etc), but have recently been after AES, Japanese Mega Drive and other harder to come by stuff. I've been gaming since my sister got tired of her 2600 back in the day and it ended up in my room. I even went as far as to work at an EB/EB Games for almost 5 years. Let me know if anyone want to trade some old games. I have a ton of feedback on EBAY and CAG, and I'd be interested in anything old game related.

I am an American based writer, nearing thirty, who has been published in scattered locations. Right now, my current manuscript is a young adult fiction book which I hope to revolutionize the publishing world with. Short of those lofty goals, I will be happy paying the bills. I have had three previous user names on here, all of which were eventually closed due to inactivity. It is not important what names I used to post under, since I wasn't anything more than a face in the crowd (despite piling up 3,000 posts combined under those names). I didn't moderate, just preferred to participate a couple times a week. I have enjoyed the DP site for several years and would love to post regularly enough so I don't get locked out, but sometimes I fail to do so.

I own the following systems, which varying amounts of games: Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, Nintendo NES-top loader, Sega Genesis-Model 2, Super NES-Model 1, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gameboy Color, Atari Jaguar, Panasonic FZ-1 3DO, Nintendo 64, Sony Playstation 1.

I can't say I have anything that is rare. However, I do have a few items that happen to move some dollars on Ebay, mostly because they are in demand. It has nothing to do with them being 8-10 on a rarity scale.

Excuse any spelling or grammar errors. Regardless of how well-written my introduction is or isn't, it doesn't impact my wallet. Otherwise, I'd put effort into fixing this. Catch my drift?

I'm John, from upstate NY and I found the site while searching for info on various NES clones, I've been gaming since age 3 (1981) with the atari 2600 on through the NES, gameboy, and genesis and then fell out of console gaming (prefferring computer games and pen and paper RPGs) untill about 2000 when I got the pokemon snap station kiosk out of blockbuster (I was employed there at the time), unfortunately my mom made me throw out the kiosk (and eventually the photoprinter), but I kept the tv, n64, 'not for retail' pokemon stadium and other strange hardware (like the pcb with two cart slots) from within. Currently I collect mainly NES and N64 games, but also am interested in Playstation, genesis, snes and gba.
Out in the real world I'm a fine arts student (painting).
My favorite games include:
Dr Mario (any)
The New Tetris (N64)
Super Smash Bros (N64)
Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man (any)
Final fantasy Tactics (PS and GBA)
Marvel Vs Street Fighter (PS)
Rampart (NES)
Gyruss (NES)
Life Force (NES)
GTA 3 (PC)

I'm currently a curriculum specialist in an elementary school and enjoy playing nintendo games.

Hello all, NiktheGreek here. 19 year old student from the UK, also sighted at various unconnected forums such as Sonic Cult and World of Stuart.

Found the site a while back but I found myself put off for a long time by that slightly intimidating "large forum" feel. Over half of my collection is made up of games for Sega consoles, though there's also a fair chunk of Playstation stuff there and lately, there's even some Nintendo creeping in.

I never actually set out to collect games, it just happened along the way. I started playing games from a very young age (about 3 years old) on my dad's Atari 2600, which I was given when he moved out a few years later. Shortly after I got a Master System II for my birthday (largely owing to my Sonic obsession and the cheap price), and it all started there. A fair amount of my collection has actually been handed down to me for free, by friends or relatives. I only realised that I had so many games three years ago, when I started to build my collection list from an online database and found out I had over 300 games. This has since grown to the present figure of just over 500.

I currently own an NES, (three types of Nintendo brand controllers) Zapper, Snes, super scope, mario paint, N64, GameCube, ps1,ps2, Xbox, Genisis. and many games. more in collection... ask if you really must know.

My name's Jess. I'm a 24/f. I'm short, have blue hair/blue eyes.

I live in an apartment in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts (boring little town sandwiched between Lowell and Nashua(NH) -- just 40 min. north of Boston.

My favorite games of all time are Final Fantasy X, the Legend of Zelda series, Mario Bros. series, Ducks Ahoy!, Kingdom Hearts, Bubble Bobble, and lots of others, but the list'd get too long.

The systems I own right now are NES, Genesis, and PS2 (but I own games for other consoles, as well). I don't know if I'd call myself a collector, but perhaps when it comes to gaming, I'm more of a pack rat. I've just never had the heart to throw any of it away. So, I've still got all of my original systems, as well as their original games. I do try to keep everything in perfect working condition, and I've never needed to exchange nor buy any new parts. I treat my older systems like elderly people who need lots of delicate TLC.

When I'm not gaming, I'm watching anime, taking photos of everything I see, reading manga, penpalling with friends all over the world, having drinks with 'local' friends, DIY...'ing', and taking road trips to places I've never been to.

I'm glad I found a place which honors classic gaming just as I do. Thanks for reading! :embarrassed:

Well to start off my name is Jack, I live in knoxville Tennessee but have moved all over the south (6 times :-/ ) Lets get one thing straight... their is nothing wrong with being a southener, but I am no southener. :)

I found the forums by accident really. I have always loved video games (since '92) and one day a few years back I went to a website that listed the rarity and estimated price of games. Over that time I got more and more interested in games, specificly older ones (SNES mainly, lol you guys probably consider those new.)

Games:
1) Super Mario RPG - First game I actually wanted
2) Earthbound
3) OoT
4) Shenmue 2
5) The Longest Journey
The list is probably not accurate in the least, other than number 1.

More personally I attend ETSU East Tennessee State University. CS with a consintration in IT. Network management of securities I'm aiming for... something along those lines.

P.S I can't wait to really join this community, my initial interaction with everyone has been amazing!

Pleasure to meet all of you!

I'm Chris, from Middletown, NJ. I found out about this site after learning about the store from one of my friends. Great store. Caught up on my SegaCD and SNES stuff and beat some guys on a Neo Geo machine. Haven't done that in about ten years. :D

My favorite games are almost always going to be 2D fighters and platformers. I love a good RPG as well though.

Older systems I'm actively buying games for include the NES, TG-16, and SNES. I always wanted to get into Intellivision and Commodore 64 stuff again but never quite found the ideal combination of game selection/system/etc. that I wanted. That's going to change now that I know about this awesome store though.

In real life, I'm an ASM at Gamestop, where the fun never stops. ;)

Hello, I'm Mike D, I'm a newbie.
I live in Massachusetts and recently I've blossomed into a more serious NES collector/player than I've been in the past. I've bought up a couple lots from people who were looking to get rid of their NES games, and as it stands I own about 108 of those light-gray beauties. Other systems I own:

-Atari
-Sega Game Gear
-Sega Genesis
-Super Nintendo
-Virtual Boy
-Nintendo 64
-PlayStation One
-PlayStation 2
-Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP

I won't get into it too deeply, but the fire that has fueled my NES obsession is based on a traumatic experience as a child. To make a long story short, when I got Super Nintendo, I diplomatically allowed my cousins to borrow my NES and the games. The system was not at their house, however--it was kept at a neutral location (my grandmother's house) for all of us to share in the fun. Then, inexplicably, they took the system home, proceeded to quickly break and destroy it out of sheer negligence and stupidity, and to top it all off--they threw away all of the games. My young spirit had been broken.

Oh, and I found the Retrogaming Roundtable because I'm destined to discover more about my prized NES cartridge, Satan Den. It was mentioned in this (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6404&highlight=)blue balls-oriented thread--one of two mentions of Satan Den that I've ever seen, throughout the entire internet, in my whole life.

-SNES
-NES
-Dreamcast

-PSX
-PS2
-Virtual Boy
-Game Boy
-Game Boy Color

Hey all

My name is Aaron Petrosky, I'm 24 and from Pennsylvania.

I been playing games since I was 4 years old, the first system being Intellivsion.

I mainly collect for the Master System. (For some reason I find it funnest to collect for)

I do try to collect for other systems but sometimes for financial reasons I sell some of my games so my collection changes lots of times.

I watch Hockey, and my favorite shows are the X-files and Boy Meets World.

I plan on finishing school soon to become a travel and tourism major. I currently work right now as a CSR agent for a company called Teletech.

I found this site through another site and always read the boards but never posted. I'm glad I'm part of them now.

Who you are: Jon
Where you live: Vancouver Canada
How you found the forums: Through another website while looking to increase my NES games
What your favorite games are: Of all time goes back to the Intellivision Shark! Shark! I loved playing this as a kid and I would play it literally for hours. I still think its a great concept for a game.
What systems you collect for: Just the NES, its my favorite system of all time. I love how original the games were but I also grew up with it so that makes me a bit bias.
What you do in "real life": Spend time with my wife and make money to buy more NES games
There was no real moment that I decided to start collecting games it was more just I wanted some NES that I remember playing or wanting when I was young so now is as good a time as any to go after them. I'm not out for a complete collection I just want the games that meant something to me growing up or that I find fun, which makes my wallet and wife very happy.

Wow, what a wealth of information. Just the kind of site I was looking for...I can't believe I never knew about it until now! I'll definitely be spending my time enjoying everything here.

Who you are: Jason (aka Johnnycab, aka Mr. Wardner, aka JAMMAPARTS)

Where you live: NC, USA

How you found the forums: A tip from a friend.

What your favorite games are: Too numerous to list here, but 25% are "newer" games and 75% of my favorites are "classic" games. One of my favorite games is a JAMMA arcade board (hint: look at my signature).

What systems you collect for: At the moment, serious about collecting Sega-CD (top priority), 3DO and CD-I

What you do in "real life": Work for game money! What else?

Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc: Been playing and collecting as far back as I can remember, and am also experienced in the arcade industry (building cabinets, PCB collecting, etc.)

Thanks and I look forward to being a part of the Digital Press community!

Found this site while searching for a place to store my video game collection and I think this is the perfect forum for me.
I plan to be around often sharing and talking as much as i can. It is good to see a community of people just like me. I will be posting a link or something to my rare games collection soon. Question though, what site do you think is best for creating a game collection list? I was thinking of going with ign....any other suggestions?

Mr. Sound-About
03-08-2006, 05:10 AM
I am Mr. Sound-About. I collect bad game systems; the kind that will make you question the sanity of their creators. Examples? Sure, but you'll be sorry you asked:

Supervision, Super A'Can, Gamate, Mega Duck, Game Master, Game King, to name a few. And a few is plenty, because if I name any more you're likely to vomit.

I collect such things because I like them, and because much like myself, they were forgotten before they were ever known. So, that's about it, I guess. I live in USA, if you're curious, but you probably aren't. You'll likely see me here, posting about my various eBay auctions which include some rare gaming artifacts that I have finished getting excitement from, and am ready to pass on to the next excited gamer. Otherwise, I'll probably make a squeak very rarely, unless of course someone decides to actually make mention of one of the obscure systems above - but since everyone hates them, I seriously doubt that will happen.

Now, please allow me to shuffle back over to the dusty shelf in the corner and regain my place upon it.

I'm Michael. 21 and from Toledo, OH. Currently going to the Univeristy of Toledo. Not sure for what, besides learning Japanese. Also have a 4-year-old that takes up most my time, otherwise.

I'm mostly into RPGs. I tend to go far out there and play/collect imports of them. Right now I'm more so collecting cheaper domestic GBA or PS2 RPGs, but I've jumped back into wanting the imports of series I like (big fan of the Atelier games- even if I only have two). It all started when I was only four and watched my brother play games. My first RPG was Ultima V (also a favorite series of mine), though I mostly just stole crops from people and attacked guardless places.

I've come here a few times before, but just signed up on the forum. Usually I would look in the Online Rarity Guide.

I'm Shane from NY. I started collecting about 3 years ago. First systems and now games. I have almost all the systems I want, totaling 20 as of today. I have a few hundred games, nothing much compared to the number of systems (and compared to some of you folks!). But I hope to expand it quickly.

I work for a major insurance company (one of the largest in the world, towards the top of the Fortune list), play drums in a band called Full Circle (http://www.fullcirc.net) and design websites (http://www.fullcirc.net/sriley) for fun and a moderate profit. I've always used this site as reference but for some reason never joined the forum.

Hi, I'm "Mako, el Tiburón Asesino", and I'm from Spain. I found the forums looking for certain info about some classic arcade games. I collect games for Sega Genesis, SNES and some rare old computers. Not much more to say :)

Hey, all. I'm Clint and, though I'm born and raised in Indiana - near Chicago, I now live in Houston, TX.

I found this site's address in a couple of places: one link over at another site and while reading an old copy of EGM where Digital Press was mentioned in the article on 'Collecting.'

I mostly collect games for Nintendo systems and I also will be collecting games for the Sega Master System and Dreamcast I just purchased. I'm on the lookout for pretty much anything.

what's up everyone. I'm Dan from Buena Park, CA heard about this site while looking for a collectors guide. and instantly fell in love with it. Currently I'm working on reclaiming some SNES and NES games. though I collect games from lots of systems. One of my favorite games would have to be Super Mario World, I can always go back to that game and have fun.

Hello, I'm Ben. I live in Westover, Maryland. Westover is a pretty rural place, so gaming stores are literally non-existent.

Despite this, I have gotten several games through eBay and Amazon. The most notable part of my collection are my GameCube games. I have over 50 of em'. My favorite game at the moment is Resident Evil 4. My all-time favorite game however, is Gunstar Heroes. If I ever buy another Genesis, that's the first game I'm going to look for.

Recently, I've taken a great interest in Macromedia Flash, although it will probably never go any where. My favorite Flash movie, of course, is Rockman Neo (the 2nd Arfenhouse movie is a close second).

Here are links to those movies, for anyone who's interested:

Hi there, the name's Matt, but most people on the internet know me as SuperYoshi or SY for short, heh. I'm 16 years old, and I live in Pennsylvania.

I found this site while searching on Google for the Collector's Closet segments from Tips & Tricks. I've been an avid collector ever since I first really got into video games. Why, some of my earliest childhood memories are of me playing some NES classics such as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Super Mario Bros. I had always loved video games, but I was never a true collector. I would always sell my games once I got bored of them, a costly mistake. I think around 2000 is when I really started to get into collecting, which was when I finally got my own Super Nintendo (I was a Sega kid back in the 16-bit days). Nowadays I mainly collect video games for the NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, PSX, N64, and Game Boy. I've always been wanting to buy the Atari 2600 and Sega CD as well. I have a collection that just topped 300 games some time ago. I plan to make it even bigger than that over time.

I've got alot of favorite games, I've never been able to pick just one favorite game but here's a few: Dynamite Headdy, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Battletoads, Mega Man X, etc.

In real life, what with me being 16, I spend most of my time in school (Which, I sware, I must be the ONLY classic gamer there). I'm not sure what I want to do with my life. Right now I'm practicing animation and working on Flash movies every now and then as a hobby, but video games are the main focus on my life, hehe. That's about it. This seems like a real cool forum, I think I might like it here!

My name is Mark, I'm 26, and live in Canada. I've been playing video games since i was in Elementary School. I remember being awed by Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt on the NES when I first played it and then playing Nintendo at friends' after school all the time.

I've been collectiong video games for the last 3 or 4 years now. It all started when I remembered how much fun my younger brother and I had with my SNES and N64 way back when.

Believe it or not though, my first system was a Nintendo Game Boy I bought broken from a friend for cheap in Junior High School. The rubber contacts under the directional pad were worn out, so I replaced them with some from an old calculator and it was still working great when I sold it years later. I had fun games like Tetris, Super Mario Land, F-1 Race, Donkey Kong Land, and a few oddballs like Boxxle and Shanghai.

My second system was actually a NEC TurboGrafx-16! This lasted about a week. After I had enough with Keith Courage In Alpha Zones, only 1 controller port, and hardly any games available, back to the store it went (now, I wish I still had it of course).

With the TurboGrafx-16 gone, I promptly picked up a used NES from a friend, and enjoyed it immensely for a few years. I had games like Ice Hockey, Rad Racer, and of course Super Mario Bros. 3.

The time came and I sold the NES and bought a used SNES. Little did I know then that this would become my favorite console of all time. Classics like Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, and Star Fox entertained me for years.

Next, the buzz around the Ultra64 was starting so I sold my SNES and games to get what became the N64, my second favorite console of all time. I enjoyed games like Super Mario 64, Golden Eye 007, Mario Kart 64, and Wave Race 64.

Around this time my brother traded his Nintendo Game Boy in for a Game Boy Color and The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. It was O.K. but I found the screen hard to see unless there was a lot of light.

Then I go away to college, and a few months later I find out my brother has sold the entire N64 collection (mostly mint and complete), in order to buy the new Nintendo GameCube. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy that he basically traded in a complete N64 setup and ~15 good games for a new system with one controller and Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. But later games like Super Monkey Ball and Burnout grew on me, and I started to enjoy the GameCube more.

Finally, my brother traded his Nintendo Game Boy Color for a Game Boy Advance and Metroid Fusion. The screen still required a lot of light, and I was loosing interest in portable systems. I do most of the driving now so I can't play in the car anymore (Game Boy used to be great for long road trips).

To fast forward to the present, I've been rebuying all the old consoles and games I used to enjoy, plus many more I never had (like the Sega Genesis I just got). My brother still has a Game Boy Advance and a GameCube, but he's mostly a PC gamer now (yeah for Counter-Strike I guess). Thanks to eBay and a few local pawn shops, I now own:

Nintendo Entertainment System & 17 games
Super Nintendo Entertainment System & 23 games
Nintendo 64 & 23 games
Nintendo GameCube & 27 games
Nintendo Game Boy Pocket & 5 games
Sega Genesis & 14 games

That's a total of 109 games.

I guess I should mention the fact that I'm a computer tech and also have my share of PC games (which I don't really play much anymore, consoles seem to be much more fun after fixing PCs all day). Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my story.

After several years of coming here to Digital Press and actually meeting some of the members here I realized that I had never introduced myself.

My name is Ken Bell and I live in sunny Yulee, Florida almost on the border of Georgia. I used to live in several different cities in Ohio such as Ashtabula, Cleveland, Brookpark, and Cuyahoga Falls. I am Married to a beautiful girl named Rebecca that I met while managing an EB Games in Cuyahoga Falls. We moved to Florida after we came here for our honeymoon and to be in a city where we have a few relatives and friends.

I'm going to cut and paste over a post of mine from another thread here on DP:

Around 1979 or 1980 my Dad won an Atari 400 from his work at his company picnic. I used to watch him play and eventually started playing the easier games like Boulder & Bombs, Pac-Man, and others of the time. I remember him playing StarRaiders with a big book and the keyboard and thinking it was like controlling a real spaceship.

In 1987 I bought a Nintendo with Metroid, Castlevania, and Super Mario/Duckhunt.....it was all over from there. I practically stopped ALL outdoor activities and playing with most toys. All I ever wanted for birthday or Christmas presents were Nintendo games. We kept the Atari hooked up and I played that about 20% of the time.

My best friend (who was my next door neighbor) had a Master System. Then he got a Genesis and I got a SNES, we never sold any of our games and amass quite a large shared collection between the two of us...this was around 1991 or 1992. I had even started a small Import collection of around 4 or 5 games by this time that was a result of me having a job and being impatient....no way was I waiting for Mario Kart!

In 1993 I wanted an Turbo Duo so bad I could taste it so my Mom decided that if I could find a used Duo for around $100-150 that she would buy it for my big Christmas gift. I tracked one down in Erie, PA which was around and hour or so away. My Mom bought it (secretly) along with around 20 games including Y's, Neutopia, Cadash, Cosmic Fantasy, and others. Right after I recieved that gift, my Grandma gave me $50 dollars for Christmas I used this money to bribe my friend Kyle into selling me his Sega Genesis with 2 controllers, Sonic 1, and Castle of Illusion! Now I had access to my best friend's 40+ Genesis library.

That next summer in 1994 I had an Atari Lynx that I bought new (from old stock) with 6 games for $59.99, my next conquest was a Sega CD! I was now working at Babbage's Software and pulling in a little cash so that year was a blur....I started the year 1995 with an Atari 400, Atari 2600 Jr. (hand-me-down from a buddy), NES, Genesis, Sega CD2, Atari Jaguar, Turbo Duo, SNES, Gameboy, and an Atari Lynx.

My parents were not into games anymore and I had taken over the basement as my base of operations. I had all of my precious systems hooked up to a 19" Zenith with a GE stereo calibrated just like the Sonic CD manual told me to! All of this along with a collection of around 200 games made for fun times for a 17 year old kid!

I bought a Saturn at launch day for $399.99 along with Virtua Fighter and Daytona, I was in heaven! I continued to buy all of the systems from then on out right around launch and kept on playing the "old" ones too.

Years passed and I sold/traded here and there. Until one fateful day I ended up losing my Turbo Duo and Atari Lynx in a trade to Captain J (another DP member and my cousin) for a N64 w/Zelda: OOT & Castlevania!

Now I am 28 years old and I now own 1000's of games and dozens & dozens of systems. I start off a collection with the ones I like(d), then I go into the ones I couldn't afford when they were new, then I buy the rare games, lastly I move into the crap commons I will never play. The problem I have always encountered is that with so many different platforms to choose from I never focus on one as much as I would like too.

About 4 or 5 years ago I got my first Digital Press Guide and started collecting for everything under the sun, now I finally had checklists and could know what was valuable/rare. I still find tons of joy playing the "classics" and have recently rediscovered the almighty Neo Geo (I had one for a breif stint about 5 years ago).......there goes all they rest of my cash!

Introductions, eh? We don't need no steenking introduc --

...oh wait, we do. Oh, fine.

Name's Beth, though I go by the handle of Dragomorph on the net, and for various reasons I tend not to give out my last name unless necessary. (Long story.) I live in beautiful rainy Seattle, and have been a gamer pretty much my entire life. Family legend attests that my first full sentence was "I want a Nintendo Entertainment System" in perfect diction. Ah, the power of advertising.

I believe I first found this site trying to find reviews for more obscure NES and Famicom games. Lately, I've been ducking in here because y'all seem to know what you're talking about, and because it's nice to be able to read posts that aren't ALL about the same darn games over and over again. I'm kind of a marginal collector; that is, I prefer to collect what's GOOD and not what's rare. Also, what's in my price range. Blah.

I have various game related interests; in particular, I'm interested in finding more information about games never released in this country for the older systems. I'd love to make a website for Famicom games if I had more working knowledge of Japanese, but alas that's not the case. Anyway, I've only just properly started collecting Famicom games ever since buying a Messiah. (For the record, I'm a TAD bitter about it, but at least I still have a working Nintendo, so it works more like a Famicom for me.)

Nice to meet y'all.

Hello everyone!

My name is Fred and I found these forums from the Neo-Geo.com forums. I am an active member there but with all the drama, I found a place that covers all I enjoy about gaming.

I currently am new to collecting video games and have just recently purchased an Xbox. I have been playing video games since the Atari 2600 Jr. system was released. I have always enjoyed gaming and now can afford to have the collection I have always wanted.

In real life I work for HP in Colorado Springs and enjoy it. It gives me time on the internet and that is always fun.

I will start collecting for Xbox then move onto another platform. I have bought and sold many, many times and wish to stop selling at this point.

Thanks for your time,

Fred

Hello!

My name is Martin and I am from England (UK). I am studying a physics degree at Manchester University and I am really into my games. I am 22 years old.

My auntie bought her son a gameboy and I used to love playing tetris on it when he would let me! Then a NES was bought (I used to be childminded by her so it was fun being there!) and I got into the Nintendo/Mario scene.

I never owned an orignal game boy but I had one of those tetris video game things - fun for passing time!

The day finally came when a Megadrive was bought. Sonic the hedgehog. The colours.... the speed... I was hooked.

I ended up being bought a game gear and sonic the hedgehog, which was very good but wasnt enough (plus sonic 2 was solid!).

Eventuallym I got a megadrive with Sonic 2... OMG!!! I was beyond hooked. Hearing the music (which I have in MP3 format) still makes me smile. Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3 was my gaming highlight. My friend and I took 2 days at a sleepover to get all the emeralds and complete the best game at the time (in my opinion!).

I got a SEGA saturn with my own money and was wowed at Sega Rally. Still the best racing game out there in my opinion.

Then I got a Dreamcast... and a lot of games! Love that thing. Hated seeing SEGA go under, but I still love them.

In between, I owned a PS1 and my brother also had a gamecube - we both got xboxes to play together and now he has a 360 and I have lots of retro stuff. he's 18.

Nice to meet you all!!

Hello everyone, I am Richard from the United States. I am a college student at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. (Basically the middle of nowhere.) One of my friends at a game shop told me to come here to check the online rarity guide to check out what was rare/hard to find. My favorite games of all- Radiant Silvergun, ESP. RA.DE, Ikaruga, Gradius( II, Gaiden, and V), Renegade(Nes), Dracula X( PC-Engine), Double Dragon II (PC-Engine), and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. Honestly, too many to name, I'll break it into genres-Puzzle, RPG(includes Stragety/RPG, Action/RPG-ect.), 2-D fighters, basically anything besides sports and military shooters.

Systems I collect for- Nes, Snes, Turbographx/duo, genesis, sega cd, saturn, ps1, gamecube, dreamcast, ps2, and a little bit of gba and DS. I would like to collect more Neo geo, atari, duo, and 3DO, but when you are limited to stores, flea markets, pawn shops, and the normal retail stores, picking are slim.

How did I get into gaming? Well, I was a military child, and I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time in Japan as a kid, and my dad brought home a pc-engine for me, and I think ever since then I was hooked. Sure, I didn't have the language skills for it, but when I played Gunhed( I think its called Blazing lazers now,) I don't think I moved from that one spot for like 9 hours. @_@

However, that is me in a nutshell, and its a pleasure to meet everyone. :D

Hello everyone,
My name is Steven and i live in Australia! (South Australia to be precise) I am 19 years old and was told about this site by one of your members, phreak97.
As for a job, I'am an apprentice electronics engineer at the Adelaide airport, I will also be trained to be an electrician!
I collect anything and everything SEGA and Nintendo. I have just started to collect tabletop systems and game & watches. I collect SEGA and Nintendo because that is what i was raised up playing and they simply have the best games of all time (except psx which has FF7).
My collection of NES games is my pride and joy, i think i have about 120 games now. I also have every common SEGA and Nintendo system, plus a psone that is soley to play my FF7 game.
Please note that i am ANTI X-BOX. My reason is that they are killing the console buisness and they ruined one of the best developers of all time, RARE.
I look foward to having my say in the forums and hearing what you guys have to say.

Hi all,
I'm a collector of primarily NES stuff. I have many fond memories of it and my Colecovision. I have more recently began collecting some of the newer Sega systems (Saturn and DC), but only when I can afford it. In real life, I'm a Software Engineer. I enjoy keeping up on the news and rare finds of the classic gaming community.

hello all,
i guess sinc ei have been posting issues in these forums for some time now i should let the community know who i am and what im all about.

my name is ace and i live in the sunny state of michigan(when its not snowing like today)
i am 25 and im engaged to a beautiful woman named ellen.
i will be married in december and i have two dogs.

i collect just about everything under the sun. but my specialty is Ps2 and Nes 8 bit.

im always looking for something i dont have and never get the last of my nes collection done because im spending money on something else.
like sega?

i dont like sega and i dont collect sega until one day i get a boxed brand new sega 32x for 5 bucks. the guy was crazy. then i get a cdi boxed complete, a master system boxed complete, a sega cd like new boxed complete, and a sega nomad boxed complete.

i dont collect sega but have come across all of this near where i live which tells me that i must be the only true collector out there within 350 miles of my home. 350 becuase i live in the middle of michigan and thats how far it would be from the border to the border of canada(roughly)

im always trying to finish my box and instruction books collection for the nes 8 bit games and i am about 70 % done so if you have any and want to trade please let me know.

Im always interested to hear if you know something about sony and their massive empire that ive yet to hear or if you think you have a label variation for a ps2 game, feel free to pm me and ask if i know about it.

thanks,
and to all the collectors out there,
i hope to hear from you

Hello, I'm The Shawn. I live in Maine. I've been collecting die hard for about 5 years. But I was always into video games. Have always owned a system of some sort. Right now I'm up to about 31 Systems. When we went to buy a house we had to get a 3 Bedroom just for my video games.
I have also been a subscriber to Tip's N' Tricks for 5 years. And didn't know that it was affiliated with this website. Even though the first page I go to is the room of doom. I do Chef work and Bake for a living. Thanks

Hello, I'm Justin and I am a collector.

(hi, Justin)

I have been gaming for years, but I have been collecting for about 4 years. I don't heav the largest of collections, and i'm not really trying to get rare and hard to find things. The point of my 'museum' (as my friends call it) is to collect games people remember for nostalgia.

I have 29 different consoles and handhelds and juuuust shy of 500 games. Small indeed, but it's a fun collection that's steadilly growing.

Currently, however, I am working on getting Japanese and odd-ball stuff for the various systems. I came across NES Reproductions and am hoping to get some homebrew and promotional carts into the museum. If you have any suggestions of interesting classic games and homebrews feel free to let me know.

I hope I become a member that is well viewed by others. Thanks.

Hello, I am Adam, I live in Utah and I've heard about this place for a while from various classic gaming forums and I finally got around to signing up here. I collect primarily for Atari systems (2600-Jaguar) and I also do the same for arcades. I do enjoy playing games on other systems, classic or modern but Atari is my fave. I was into NUON back in it's brief day in the sun and I still enjoy getting the homebrew games for it.

For a living I train people on how to troubleshoot and fix computers. It's OK but I would much rather be running an arcade right now. In fact that is one thing I am trying to get started. But like anything else worthwhile, it takes money...quite a lot of it too. But I will get there one day. :)

For other hobbies I like to write, watch MST3k and post on video game related message boards. :)

Favorite TV show: Mystery Science Theater 3000
Favorite movie: TRON

I guess that's it!

Hi, this is Tanda. I've playing video games ever since the early 2600 days. I've just discovered this community, and I think it's great to have so many retro gamers and collectors here.

I've been lucky that my parents and myself have kept all my systems through the years, and I have a nice collection going. My main interests are in the Neo Geo and Arcade cabs. I have a Neo 1 slot cab right here in my office (thank you wife) and I really dig the great mvs, jamma, and cps games of the past.

I really haven't fully made the transition to 3D gaming yet, though I did like the Dreamcast a lot, and look forward to the Nintendo Revolution (or whatever they end up calling it) Cheeers!

I wish my own Room of Doom, but I have a problem:
When i clicked in the icon Room of Doom appears a message:
"Sorry, this site is temporarily unavailable
Daily Bandwidth Exceeded"

The Room of Doom's are currently down due to one of the RoD links circling about on the 'net, which eats up the bandwidth. I believe the current status update is that everyone is waiting for the link to work it's way out and then the RoD feature should come back online.

And to all on this page - welcome! :)

Hello.
Sometimes these forum intros seem a little pointless to me but here's mine:

I started playing videogames at about age 6 when my incredible parents bought us an Atari 2600. I fondly remember rushing home from school to play Space Invaders. I've been pretty much hooked ever since. I really miss all of the great arcade games I got to play as a kid in the 80's.

As a collector I'm focused mainly on the 2600 and the NES but I play games on many systems including some of the current consoles.

I have too many non-video game interests to list here but I work as an artist and high school art teacher in Cincinnati, OH, I should have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in a few short months, and I scream a lot in a hardcore band called File and Claw.

I'll introduce myself the official way, then - as the few threads I started were linked to this one. Hi, my biggest passion is the Philips CD-i and I'm starting to discover more retro consoles these days. OK, I owned a NES and the SNES, but I never got a Sony console, stupid me (?). However, I really enjoy the CD-i and well, yeah, recommend you to look out for it!

Oh, and I don't understand why my signature pic isn't displayed. Or any signature, what I'm doing wrong?

Ok im going to use the original post from DP for my intro.

- My name is James
- I live in the wonderful state of South Carolina
- Was referred here by a good friend and (from what I understand) a heavy poster here. Name is Cmosfm. He is actually what inspired me to collect. I have always wanted to, always checked ebay auctions and bought at flea markets, but never got to "collecting" like I wanted to, until now.
- Favorite games : F-Zero, any Zelda, Halo 2, Sim City, CoolBoarders 2, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye
- Right now I am focusing on collecting SNES games. I would like to expand, and I will still buy stuff that I think is worth it, but my focus is SNES. I loved the system and now I want a good, possibly even complete collection.
- I work in the cell phone industry, and also like collecting older/awesome cell phones. I have had 29 different phones in less than 5 years. I get bored easily.
- Eh not many interesting facts really. Just like to hang out, work, do stuff with friends, the regular stuff.

My Collection so far:
3 x NES
1 SNES
1 GameCube
1 Xbox
1 Xbox 360
1 Sega Saturn
1 Dreamcast
1 Atari 5200 (pending...may be trading)
1 GameGear
1 Nintendo DS

Games:
10 or so NES (so many lost over the years)
25-30 SNES
3 Saturn
7-8 Xbox (none matter but Halo 2 to me)
4 Xbox 360
2 Gamecube
12-15 Dreamcast
1 GameGear
1 DS
7 5200

Small collection, but now steadily growing.

Well thats my intro. Thanks for looking.

Hi everyone, :)
I've been browsing the forums for about a week now and I decided to join. I grew up and have been gaming since the Atari and NES era. I was like alot of people who would be out with the old in with the new etc. ditching an old system for the new one. I currently own a PS2,XBOX, GameboySP and I aquired my Dreamcast back. recently though, I've been wanting to go back to the games and systems I grew up on.(sign of getting old?! X_x ) I am planning on tracking down a SNES and I'm also thinking about getting a N64 ( I never owned or played much of it either since I ended up buying a PS instead at the time)
Other interests of mine include, anime and collecting toys (action figures mainly) vintage and new. I'm building up my Shogun Warriors collection and also have some Micronauts as well. plus tons of other newer figures. :)
Anyways, I'm sure I will enjoy many great discussions and hope to contribute as well to the board. :)

How's it going. My name is John I'm 19. I live in Birmingham, AL. For my everyday occupation i install security systems. Aside from that i'm a combat engineer in the Marine Corps Reserves. I collect pretty much any video games. I don't really focus on any one system in particular. I would like to be able to complete my Neo-Geo Pocket Color collection though (just recently found a neo-geo pocket/dreamcast link cable). Some of my favorite games are SNK vs. Capcom: Cardfighters Clash, Grandia II, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Legend of Legaia, and Shenmue. At least those are the games that I am currently playing. If anyone is ever interested in selling any NGPC stuff let me know.

I live in the Omaha, NE area, but grew up in Colorado. am 30 years old. have been playing video games since 1982, dont play as much now with a little one at home, I'd like to start collecting games from the NES first then maybe Atari 7800, then SNES. As you can tell i am a Nintendo guy. I work in retail. Love Football and Fantasy Football. Use to collect ball cards, but haven't in awhile. I miss the days of going to the local arcade and playing games and hanging out with friends til 8 or 9. I love the 80s. Found out about this site while on Gamefaqs and someone mentioned it and have loved this site ever since.

Hellooooo!

I'm a 25 year old master's graduate currently working in retail. I hope to eventually get a job teaching English composition at a community college or university.

I've had a non-stop interest in gaming all my life. I cut my teeth on an Atari 2600 and moved on to the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. I've held on to most of my original games and am always adding to past and present system libraries. Some of my favorite games are Dragon Warrior (NES), Animal Crossing (GC/DS), just about any 2d Castlevania installment, and most old-school PC adventure games (i.e. Monkey Island series, Full Throttle, etc.). My current-gen genre preferences are mostly limited to action/platformers and RPGs.

My other interests include movies, comics/manga/Anime, post-modern literature, Japanese culture (still haven't visited...), and pro wrestling. I used to oversee the operation of the soon-to-be defunct wrestlerant.com and it's weekly podcast. I don't care much for long walks on the beach and I hate spiders. I live with my fiancee and our four cats. I blog at biggzy.org.

Hello, my name is Eddie and I'm a 22 year old casual collector from Anaheim, CA. I began collecting when I was 15, at that time I had a pretty massive collection due to my abundance of money from living with my parents and holding a steady job. I sold alot of my original collection when I moved out, but never lost the desire to continue collecting.

I first started visiting this site about a year ago or so, I was using it as a reference for buying and selling on ebay and with friends. I decided to start posting recently when I had a question about a VICE Project Doom proto cart I picked up for $5 at a local game store.

I collect all sorts of games and systems with no general favorite amongst them all. My primary focus in terms of genres is Music Gaming, of which I have a currently complete collection of Japanese and American Konami music titles (bemani) and a 75% complete collection of other miscellanious titles. I'm also the lead webmaster and owner of www.bemanistyle.com which is arguably the largest general music gaming website online.

Aside from that, I'm a Game Advisor at a local gamestop and enjoy going to arcades, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.

Hello everyone. Ponyone here. Thought I'd introduce myself.

Used to be a collector (of video game systems, not games) and used to have a slew of em, but I now only have:

xbox - used mainly for divx movies and emulation

Gamecube - Got it for my girlfriend but we share

Dreamcast - in Sports edition black.

Sega Saturn - chipped for my pleasure

PS1 - Was never really a fan of the PS (Can't get comfortable with the controller) but it was only 5 dollars so why not?

Sega/Sega CD - getting rid of this soon

Virtual Boy - Was I the only one who liked this thing? Sheesh. I took it off it's little legs and stuck it on a video camera tripod to make it more a "standup arcade machine"

Actionmax with 3 boxed games - for sale soon

Odyssey 2 incomplete - sale or brother gift giver

Gameboy SP - Never get around to playing it but there it is.

I would love to get all of my once loved systems back (working on getting a 3do for my birthday in May.. hint hint)

I've made some horrible deals (on my part) in the past on ebay. Too embarrassing to tell here.

My claim to fame - finding a working 'fatboy' PS2 at a thrift store (same one I got the ps1 for 5 dollars) for $3.31 this past Christmas... gave it to my sister for the holiday.

Anyhoo, Hello.

Hi all, my name is Ron. I'll be 34 in a couple of days. I live in Missouri. Right now Im working in a diner across the street from my house (due to many unfortunate events). Ive been playing video games since the late seventies starting with a pongsports game system from sears, never can remember the real name of it. My favorite system is the sega master system and the genesis. I did have quite a collection built up but ended up selling them for far less than their value on ebay. I will probably start collecting again working on mainly sega stuff. My favorite game of all time is probably Phantasy Star on the SMS, with many others close behind. Anyway , just wanted to post a hello.

*OK time to nut up and do this*

Hello, my name is Brandon. I'm 27, I live in Moose Lake Minnesota (about 40 miles south of Duluth). I've been maried for almost 7 years and have four kids (all boys ages 8, 6, 5, 3).

In real life I'm a carpenter and I help my wife out with her daycare, (she does daycare out of our home). If you can't beat them (daycare cost) join them.

I found these forums browsing the net. You guys made me feel like there are others like me (the collecting part). I've been a member awhile but don't post (very rarely), I enjoy reading this site alot more. Hopefully I will be comfortable posting more in the future. This is about the only site I visit daily.

My favorite games are the ones that I can play longer than 15 minutes, mostly RPG. I also enjoy football, action/adventure, shooters and Tetris. Some all time favorites are: Gun.Smoke, Bomberman, Blazing Lazers, Parasite Eve, and Dark Cloud.

My collection is about 740 different games. Of those roughly half is NES. My goal is to get a complete loose set of all the NTSC released NES games. Also I have about 20 other systems and games, from Ulta Pong to PS2. So I guess I mostly collect for the NES but I usually won't pass up a good deal.

Unlike most others here I never played games growing up (my parents said everything from my brain would rot to them being evil). I started playing shortly after getting maried('99). I was aways interested in games but until I was out on my own I never could. I started collecting about 2 years later ('02). My collection grow alot after an agreement with my wife that if I quit drinking I could spend my monthly beer money on games. Some of you might laugh but now we're both alot happier. I don't really like Ebay or the B & S forums (yet) because I like the thrill of the hunt.

Anyways thats some about me and thank you for the GREAT site.

Hey all,

I've made a few offers on the Buy and Sell board (and haven't gotten a single response! Bleh ) so I figured this might be a good opportunity for me to introduce myself. My name is Jim and I'm a 23-year-old student from Canada. Since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, I've been playing PC and console games in my spare time. Over the years, I developed a special affection for anything Sega-related. More recently, I purchased a used Genesis deck on eBay and have begun to rebuild my game collection (most of which was sadly traded to Microplay for a Nomad in the late '90s). I'm pretty knowledgeable about Sega console history and would love to participate in discussions related to this.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello and let you know a little about me.

Cheers,
Jim

Hello everybody, I just joined this forum 5 minutes ago. My name is Alec, I am 22 years old and live in northern California. My favorite systems are Neo Geo, Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Geneses, and NES. I hope one day to get a PC Engine Duo RX, and one day even have a model 1 Sega Wondermega, only time will thell though. At the moment I am mostly interested in getting carts for my new(old) Neo Geo MVS cab. My least favorite systems are PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube in that order. For the money that these companies charge for current gen systems, you should at least get something that won't break... like a Neo Geo. I sold my XBOX for $ for a Neo Home system in 2002 and never looked back.

Looking forward to using these forums. I want to learn how to use mame online, but I have yet to figure it out.

Hello all, my name is Reggie, but everyone just calls me Reg. I'm 24 (be 25 in July). I heard of this site through Sega-Spetsnaz and decided I'd check it out. The community is a lot larger than I thought it would be, but I can tell I'm gonna love it here. Although I do play a lot of games from today, I love old-school gaming. My NES, SNES, and Genesis are still hooked up to my TV and I'm always on the lookout for older hits.

Favorite genres are: SHMUPs, RPGs, Platformers, Action, Racing.

Oh and Mega Man rocks.

Hello, my name is Jayson, alias of Jhonny Paradox, and I live in beautiful rainy Vancouver, BC Canada. I am currently a student in Game Art and Design at the Art Institute of Vancouver and am aiming to become a designer/artist in the wonderful industry that is gaming. I found the forums through a friend from school and instantly warmed to the 'atmosphere' here.

I began gaming at the tender age of 5 when in 1988 my family got a Sega Mastersystem for Christmas. Since then I've played through the past generations of consoles with just a little PC gaming thrown in within the past few years and many trips to local arcades 'back in the day'. At one point I was collecting systems and games, however, I went away for the summer break and came back to my systems being sold in a garage sale.

My favorite games are not based on names, nor titles or companies. I am an avid fan of well made games that are balanced, have a decent story or back story, excellent gameplay and are enterataining. That said, I don't focus too much on the graphics since graphics are always making advances with each generation of hardware, while other aspects will always have an undying philosophy.

Thank you if you took the time to read through my introduction and I'll be around here somewhere carving a niche.

Hi all, my name is George and I'm from Illinois. I love to play video games (that's part of the reason why I signed-up for this forum ;)) and hope to one day write reviews and articles for a Web site such as IGN or GameSpot.

Some of my favorite video games are The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest, Shenmue and Shenmue II, Final Fantasy VI, and Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

I like to collect games for pretty much any and every system I own, but I've recently become obsessed, if you will, with collecting old, sealed copies of Dreamcast and PlayStation games.

Hi everyone,

The names Cesar and from New Jersey for those who are curious. I've been playing games since the Atari years and mainly kept and then collected alot of sega and nintendo games. I still collect a lot of the old nes and snes plus anything sega related. Just harder finding time to play all of the games as I used too. My tastes in games vary from common beat em ups like streets of rage (awesome game even to this day) to rpgs like phantasy star to wacky japanese shooters. I work in the pharmaceutical industry so I'm basically a slave to a corporation LOL One day I'll have to take pictures of my game room, its my sanctuary away from everything. I found this website by accident but I'm glad I did, the forums have been great help. Keep up the good work and you'll be seeing me on here more.

Hey, I've been checking on this site for a couple of years. I've been using the rarities guide as checklists for collection SNES games which is my main passion. I'm nearing 400 unique titles and have many rpgs, and truely rare titles. I'm not a completist but I do prefer carts that are in good shape. I play a good number of them. Some that I play pretty regularly are Rock n Roll Racing, Lethal Enforcer, Metal Warriors, WWF RAW, Uniracers, Mario RPG, Mario World, Lamborgihni, Zelda, and Aerofighters. I'm currently looking for WCW Super Brawl, if anyone is willing to give it up. I also like collecting games for the PS1 and Vectrex. I own about 90 PS1 games and about 20 Vectrex. I really like the Vectrex and its vector graphics and the fact that the games are meant to be challenging and not to be beaten. I also love that vector trail left by the objects. Theres not slow down on these games. My Vectrex collection is nice including most of the core release and a few special ones like Space Frenzy. I love just about all the game sfor this system but my top 5 are
1. Starhawk
2. Fortress of Narzod
3.Web Wars
4. Scramble!
5. Armor Attack
All of my Vectrex games are complete. I am looking for Pole Position and Clean Sweep. My PS1 collection includes may rpgs, I like side scrollers and like to find cheap games that are good(they're out there like One Piece Mansion and Battlestations). I like playing FFVII, Xenogears, Strider, 1945, Symphony of the Night, FFT, Italian Job, the Moto Racer series, Point Blank games, SFA3, and Jedi Power Battles. I'm currently looking for Streetfighter Collection 2, Guilty Gear, and Moto Racer World Tour. I also get games for SFC, Gameboy Advanced and back, Genesis, and Dreamcast. I am a member of GameTZ under the same username and have been a member for about 2 years. I live in Snellville, Ga., have a HUGE DVD collection, a 92 Thunderbird, 73 Opel GT and 93 Nighthawk 750. I go to Gainesville College and am 23 years old.

Hello everyone-
My name is Tom and I currently am living in Colorado. I split my time between there and California. I have been visiting these forums for awhile now but really didn't have time to post until recently. Not sure how I stumbled accross DP.

My favorite games are 2 player games for the classic systems. I enjoy playing Maze Craze, Dr. Mario, Herc's Adventure(any many others) with my wife Bridgitte. I actively collect games for the 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD. Right now I am focusing on the NES. I made I list of the 550 best NES and am working on getting them. I am about 30 away. I plan to do the same with the other systems(list). Currently I have around 1200 games.

In real life, I own a couple of stores. I started them over 10 years ago and have really enjoyed it. I worked 60-70 hours a week and loved(most of) it. I have a two year old son and have had to reprioritize my life. I have stepped back from my work and let my borther-in-law run the businesses. A very difficult thing to do, but so far so good.

I also use to collect comics(Lobo, Wolverine, Xmen) and would love to catch up on that. I really enjoy the hunt for games but so far Colorado has been far more difficult than California as far as Flea Markets, thrift stores, etc.

Mostly, my days are spent entertaining my son and I love it. I can not wait until I can teach him how to play video games.

Thanks

- Who you are
That would be telling. :) Seriously, do you think I would put my name in a forum online?? My friends and I all laugh at people that do that. Worse when they use thier whole name.... There is that compulsion to find thier address and personal info online and mail it to them. sometimes they dont find this as funny as we do.

- Where you live
Dallas Texas area.. Thats a pretty big area though as most people consider where I live the DFW Metroplex.

- How you found the forums
Pretty shure it was google when I was looking for sega stuff.

- What your favorite games are
Old School-
People hate these games and laugh at me for it but, I like the old FMV games. I am also a huge Sonic fan.

Current-
Halo/Halo2, Time Splitters, bunch of others.

Arcade/MidConsole-I love the old RE stuff, I have almost all the old DC versions of the RE series. Also, have to give props to Rival Schools : Project Justice. One of the best fighters on the DC.

- What systems you collect for
Genesis/32x/Sega CD
Dreamcast
Xbox
GBA
NDS

- What you do in "real life"
Returned to school to get a business degree. About to grauate very soon.

- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
Less of a "collector" and more of a hobbiest looking to relive old gaming days gone by.

Hi, I'm Dan, but I think you could have figured that out if you looked to the left. I'm 20 and from the other side of Jersey. I first visited the DP store three or four weeks ago. If that store is not the ultimate center of the universe, I don't know what is, but if I read all five books of the Hitchiker's Trilogy again, I'm sure I'd find out. I love NES and Genesis games, but I play my fair share of Gamecube and PS2 games too. I'm getting into portabalizing systems. I've got a NES almost done and a Genesis on the way. I have an obscenely large pile of seemingly useless junk in my gaming collection, and it's constantly growing. I'm glad to be here.

Hello all,
My name is Shawn and I have a video game addiction....Oh, wait a minute, wrong forum, sorry. LOL . I am from New London, Connecticut. For those of you that live everywhere but New England, it's the real small one next to NY. :) I am 30 yrs. old, have 3 children (1 of which is with me and the wife), and am known to collect just about anything it is possible to collect. I have a few fond memories of playing the 2600 (vague recollections, really), and I most definetly remember playing the NES to death (literally, 10 hours of playing CV, and the #$%& thing FREZZES?!!...You can imagine the rest of the story). Anyways, after that I sold my second nes to a kid at school (can't remember who, though....hmm) and bought a used Intellivision with about 60 games or so. This was late 80's so I thought it was an ok deal. Long story short, lost the Intv somewhere moving, got out of gaming till PSX, bought that new, and then moved to Florida. When there, I went to work at an arcade (third one I had worked at by then), became really good friends with the manager, who, it turns out, had a good sized game collection (750 games or so). Basically, I hold him entirely responsible for the huge pile I have sitting around the house now. I found the site while looking for some tech help trying to fix my Jaguar. Sadly, though I got the help I needed, I still have not found the time to fix the stupid thing. :( I have not made too many posts on the site, so most of you probably don't know me, but being as I currently in "real life" (is there such a thing in the video game industry?) am Operations Manager for a vending company (video games, pool tables, etc) I try to hit arcade alley and help out whenever/wherever I can. I have found people here to be most excellent, and I will surely be found here for (hopefully) many years to come. My current game collection is somewhere around 1000 games (home systems), 20-25 arcade cabs. (lost track of exactly how many), and probably 40-50 arcade boards. I would be hard pressed to give a list of favorite games, because I am not particular to any one genre. I do have an affinity for the NES after the CV affair LOL so that is the bulk of my home system collection. If you took the time to read this, I hope you have enjoyed, and if you're ever in this forgotten corner of the world, drop a line. Cheers!!

Eh, I figure a lot of you already know me as I've been around over the years. Used to be a member in high standing on the Sega boards until about 3 years ago when I left. Been floating around on IRC since then. Opened an account here for shits and grins mainly, because I see stuff from time to time that I want to reply to.

Hey everyone. My name is Mike, I'm 23 and I'm from Cadillac, MI. I'm a technical director for the local television station here in town. I honestly can't remember how I found this site, but I do visit it every day though. Currently I own 7 game systems (Game Boy Pocket, GBA, SNES, Genesis II, Sega CD II, Saturn, and DC) and I am trying to collect more systems. That's about all there's to say about that.

HI everybody. My name is Justin, I'm currently 26 years old, and I'm just starting to get into video games again.

Systems I've had in the past: Colecovision, Nes, Snes, Genesis, Turbo Grafix 16, Ps1, Ps2, Xbox.(I also had an Action Max. Does anybody else remeber those?)

The only system I currently have is a PS1. So I've got along way before my collection is anywhere near respectable, although it should be a very fun journey.

Anyways, I'm glad to be here and I look foward to talking to everybody on the boards.

Greetings all! My name is Tony, and I'm a huge fan of all games old and new.
I was born in Pennsylvania on December 7th, 1983, and I'm 22 years old.
I've been coming to this site for the past year and absolutely love the work everyone has put into this place. It's so cool to see others that love the classics as much as I do. :)

I currently don't have any consoles at the moment, but that is going to change very soon. I've been relying on emulators for the past few years to fill the void, but absolutely nothing beats the real thing. So thanks to this site and seeing all the awesome pics in the Room of Doom, it has rekindled the fire inside of me to start collecting again.

I started out with my NES Power Pack back in '88, and play everything from that all the way to the modern games of today. I've also been around Windows PCs since the start of the 90s, and in turn am a huge fan of PC games.

I'm looking forward to making friends here and shooting the breeze with you guys! See you around. :)

Greetings,
My name is John, 44yrs old(?) from Orange County, CA.
I first started play vidgames way back in the early 70's, my older bro. bought an Odyssey, we hooked it up to the TV, applied the overlays and had a blast with all the variations of pong and the light rifle in some kind of haunted mansion type game.
What I do in real life? I suppose you mean for a job or career,
Well now, I feel kinda special!
I'm a Teamster, Local 986 in Los Angeles, CA.
What that means to those who care is..........I've worked the Sony Playstation Booth for the past 4 years at E3. Moving the freight in and setting it all up, 14 days prior to the opening of the show, then working the show while it's open, stocking the publication bins,(every gaming magazine you can imagine) and finally, moving it all out in less than 6 days.
I met some of the Digital Press crew last year down in the Kentia Hall, they had a great display of retro gaming machines and other rare items....it kinda looked like my storage space, except your stuff was a lot cleaner! LOL
I started collecting, trading, buying and selling because of the lack of money.
I couldnt afford to buy newgames so I placed free wanted ads in the local Recycler asking for cheap consoles, buy them for dirt, get them to throw in the games for free....I'd re-sell the consoles with 1 game & gun and keep the rest.
How many copies of NES Mario/Duck Hunt can still be out in the wild? 20,000 at least!!
I'm sorry for the long intro about me...I started to think too much and write way too much and you get the picture.

Hello, I'm Kovacs from Ontario, Canada. Heard about this site some time ago, but as I've been getting more into collecting recently, thought I'd join up.

Like many, cut my gaming teeth on Super Mario/Duck Hunt, and have been addicted ever since. A few of my all-time favorite games would be Yoshi's Island, Earthbound, Gunstar Heroes, Planescape: Torment, Silent Hill, and Mega Man 3. I currently own an NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy/Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, N64, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox. Looking into expanding all of those collections, as well as the PC's here. Also trying to get a hold of a replacement Dreamcast, a Saturn, plus start into pre-NES consoles. Not a die hard collector yet, but hope to be soon.

In real life, just a simple student. Nothing exciting there. When video games aren't occupying my time, it's music and reading (mostly comics/graphic novels). Anywho, look forward to joining in the forums. See you all around.

I'm William Bermudez, also known as ROBOTNIK666.

Age: 12
Location: Evanston, IL
Systems I collect for:

Atari 2600
Game Boy
Playstation 1
Genesis

My earliest memory of video games was around 1996, when I saw my older sister playing Tetris on her computer. My first computer games were Centipede, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and my #1 favorite game that I still haven't been able to find after all these years, Tunnels of Armageddon.

The first video game system I got was the Game Boy Color on December 28, 2000. The next year, I got my Playstation 1, which I have been collecting for ever since.

Hey all, I'm Rob from the UK, been lurking for a while and decided to finally introduce myself.

I am a collector of all things PAL PS1, most of which is all listed up at http://www.defconsoft.co.uk. (And before you ask, if it asks you for a password it means I haven't got round to setting that page up yet).

My first gaming experience was so long ago I cannot actually pinpoint what it was, although it was more than likely something to do with the Dragon 32 and a Space Invaders cart that I couldn't get working. Obviously a lot has gone through my grubby little hands since then.

In real life well I make computer games, currently working as a designer at Team17 having done stints at Small Rockets and Electronic Arts beforehand.

So thats me, and hi!!!! *waves to all*

Hey all! My name's Mike. I live in Middlesex, NJ. I've been gaming since I was 5, I'm now 26.

Found the site by googling for game collections like mine. Thought my collection would be impressive but compared to many of yours (at least the ones posted in the gallery) it appears I have much to learn.

My collection can be seen here: http://gamecollection.ytmnd.com

I used to sell my old games when Funcoland came around, then realized how much I missed them and I'm trying to get them all back. My flaw as a collector is that I MUST have AT LEAST the instruction manuals, so completing my once great collection is becoming a task.

My favorite games are definitely action games, some adventure, combat/adrenaline racing...basically anything except strategy and sports games. Castlevania and Contra I just can't get enough of.

I've worked at Circuit City for about 8 months now and before that it was Toys R Us for 5 years...::shudder::. They contributed to my collection as well as good ol' ebay.

I own about 32 different systems including the rare Game Boy Light, both game.coms, a Virtual Boy and a Jaguar w/ CD (stop laughing!!!). I plan to have a Gizmondo soon along with the new GP32 when they work the bugs out. I love both retro gaming and current consoles alike. I usually buy cartridges for the collection, I play most of them via emulators. CD-based games are played on the TV.

I hope to start a long and lasting friendship with all of you, as well as add to my already extensive game knowledge. I look forward to talking to all of you!

I'm Jeff, a graphic designer in Denver, Colorado.

I've only become a real collector of video games in the past five years, but I collect for all the systems I had as a kid, except for the Sony Playstation. That I can blame on a fellow old-school gamer who showed me the compilations for that system.

My current systems are Atari 2600/7800, NES, SNES, Genesis, SegaCD, and PS1. Out of all that, my SNES and most games are original purchase, as is much of my Atari collection.

I prefer sticks over pads, although I don't hate pads outright. I am willing (and able) to do mods to my own systems with instructions.

Hi all,

My name is Matt and I have been collecting for about 10-12 years. I only have about 700 games for all systems, but I am always adding more. My main interest and focus is on displays and kiosks. I currently have 12 with them being divided evenly between floor models and countertops. I am always on the lookout for new ones, so if anyone wants to get rid of one theres a good chance I'll be interested.

Well now that the intro is over I'm gonna dive into the wealth of info on this site.

Howdy! My name is Corey, and I collect primarily Nintendo-based consoles (NES, SNES, N64, etc.).

I currently have about 1000 NES games (about 700 or so unique, 230ish boxed), including quite a few rares.

Although I spend a great deal of time on these forums (a few hours a day), you won't see me post very often. I'm a proud lurker :P It's recently come to my attention that, compared to quite a few people here, I know almost nothing about classic game collecting. So, I spend most of my time trying to learn all that I can. Please excuse me if I ask or say something extremely stupid :D

Hello, ny name is Paul. I live in Nashville, TN. I'm 27 years old. I haven't been collecting for a long time, about 2 years now. I decided one day after pulling out the old NES toaster that I missed playing all those good ol' games so I started collecting. I mainly collect cartridge based systems, or cd add-ons to cartridge based systems. I mainly collect for the NES, TG-16, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Atari 2600, Colecovision and Virtual Boy. It's a pleasure to join.
Thanks.

Hey,
Everyone calls me Hutty in real life, Im 24 from Doylestown PA, (near Philly). Im just starting collecting, always been a huge fan of the old games and got the urge to dig out all my old stuff and play again. I wanted to throw up when I realized how much stuff was missing or mistreated. So Im almost starting over again from scratch. Im collecting for all systems from NES up, and see this as a chance to get all the stuff I always wanted as a kid and never had. Im starting with 32x because I figure it will be easy and relatively cheap to complete. Look forward to meeting everyone on here and starting my room of doom.

Hey.

My name is Mike. I live in Ohio, and found these forums by checking on just who wrote my Digital Press Guide. My favorite games are shooters, RPGs, and anything for Sega Saturn. I collect more or less across the board, and I'm just short of having a complete (well, not all the instructions or boxes) US Virtual Boy collection. I'm coming for you, Jack Bros. and V-Tetris! In real life I work at my father's office to facilitate my obsession with all things gaming. I'm 16 years old and started collecting classic when I was twelve and the trophies in Super Smash Bros Melee gave me an intense desire to experience NES and SNES classics. From there I moved on to Atari, Sega, NEC, and the whole classic era. I'm suprised at just how moronic most people my age are about video games, with most of them being able to tell you nothing more than "gta and halo r sweet!" Not so much. My future intention is to collect every bit of Saturn memorobilia ever, as it was my first system and got into home consoles. That and its library is top-freakin'-notch.

Hiya. Name's Luke. Uh, I mean Rook.

I'm from America (about four different states), but currently am in Japan, until July. I joined these forums because I just bought an original Famicom and have some questions about that...

I'm mostly an old school gamer. My systems include:
(old school)
-NES (front loader)
-SNES
-Famicom '83
-Genesis (type 1)
-Sears Super Video Arcade (Intellivision)
(new school)
-PS2 (slim)
-Gameboy SP (blue)

The games I prefer:
-Metroid (yeah, all of them)
-Metal Storm (NES)
-R-Type Final (PS2)
-Katamari Damacy (PS2)
-Super Robot Wars series
-Bionic Commando (NES)
-Smash Brothers! ALL of them.
-Just about anything imagination stimulating =)

By the way, I originally attempted signing up with my normal school e-mail account (ljones3@harding.edu), but I never got the activation e-mail. Not sure why.

Hi guys, here is a bit about myself!

I live in Australia and am an avid collector of NES and SNES games, in boxed and complete condition only.

I am seeking accurate price guides and information regarding where and how to obtain these games aside from ebay/garage sales.

Hoping that joining this forum will be a good place to start! I found the site thru a web search looking for general info on Nintendo gear.

My favourite NES game is Cobra Triangle, and SNES would be Mystical Ninja. In real life I am an unemployed Advertising graduate so if anyone has a job to offer me please let me know! (Nintendo of America , perhaps? :P)

Looking forward to posting reguarly on this forum, kudos Mods.

Hi,

You can call me hawk or night for short. I live north a bit of Atlanta GA, yes, I'm not far from the Falcons complex.

I don't remember exactly how I found these forums, but it was a few years back. I've basically just checked out the email they send out with upcoming releases.

My favorite games O_O . . . . I like them all :D
It really changes as time goes by, and I get in moods for one thing or another. Right now I'm hooked into Oblivion, and I've also started up Shenmue again.

I like to collect for Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSone and 2, Xbox and 360.

In R/L i'm a software engineer, and have been doing that sort of thing since 1990.

I don't remember how I ended up collecting video games. I recall being stunned by the awesomeness of Sonic the Hedgehog when I saw it running at a demo in a Sams club. I had played the NES some years back, but this was over the top. So I snapped up the genesis with a pack that had Sonic, Alien Storm and one of the Shinobi games. It seemed like everybody in the house was loving sonic, my mom, dad, sister, and friends couldn't get enough of it.

The next system that really wowed me was the Dreamcast. So I guess this officially makes me a Sega fan :P

That's all for now, have fun everybody.

Wow, I just discovered this website and I am thrilled about it. I come from GameFAQs as a prolific writer, and I am a huge fan of classic gaming as well as newer games as well. It's good to find a community that supports both, as far too many people are biased against newer games or older games.

Hi, My name is Reid and I live in South Mississippi. I found the forums by Google, when I was searching for classic video game stuff. My favorite games are: Cosmic Ark(2600), Super Mario 64(N64), Virtua Cop(Saturn. I collect for all the consoles ever made, because I am trying to collect them all, which has been an ongoing project for me. In real life, I am a computer nerd trying to get his A+, and a student. My favorite console is the Sega Dreamcast, because the system was way ahead of its time, and I think its graphics can challenge PS2.

Thanks! :D

Hi guys and gals (are there any here?)
I'm 21 years old (getting 22 on 13th of august) and live in Germany. I found this place via the english wikipedia (the article about the Playstation) when I was searching for some sites which are mainly PS1 related.
My favorite games might be the RPGs and Jump'n'Runs I think. But I also like the Metal Gear Solid, GTA, Silent Hill games though (and a lot more of course ;) ).
I collect only games which I like and are in good condition, this means I'm not limited to any specific console.

I think I will have some fun in this board. :)

Hi, I'm Geoff. I grew up borrowing playtime on my older brother's Atari 2600 and NES. My first personally purchased system was a Genesis. My completionist tendencies begin to manifest themselves early on, as that system eventually evolved into a Genesis + Sega CD + 32X hybrid with official IR wireless 6-button control pads and nearly 200 games. I sold it off before entering college.

I skipped the 32/64 "bit" generation entirely and got into the Dreamcast scene, eventually amassing all of the US releases, and all the PAL exclusives. I also owned an R7 Dreamcast with the only original black Broadband Adapter and black Keyboard I have ever seen. Sold it off before entering grad school :)

Somewhere in there I also completed and sold off Virtual Boy and Tiger Game.com collections. I first found Digital Press about 4 years ago when a member helped me track down an elusive Compete.com system link cable for the Game.com system. Never had a reason to register til today.

Today I game with the Nintendo DS mostly, and I have an Xbox 360 running in HD with only 3 or 4 games. I have both a "phat" DS and a Lite, and am 75 games into getting a complete collection. I plan on keeping this one!

In real life I live in north Texas, where I'm a music pastor at an independent church. Happily married for just shy of 5 years, with a dog and a cat. I'm a recent Mac convert after too many years of using my A+ certification to maintain Windows.

07-08-2006, 12:48 PM
Hey everyone, I'm Skylar (a.k.a mEgAsHoT). I first found this site when looking for a good online rarity guide for videogames. I have a decent sized collection from many systems, starting with the Sega Genesis. It was the first system I have owned and played. Unfortunately I don't remember ever having a NES, although I have found a Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge laying around in my room, which suggests that my parents probably gave it away to a close friend or something.

I seriously got into gaming once the N64 came out. My parents gave one to me as a birthday present around 1996/7 (Forgot the actual year). My first game was Wave Race 64. I would constantly rent Super Smash Bros. and other great hits from Blockbuster every weekend and have a blast. Now I own most of the games that I used to rent. It is currently my favorite console, along with the Dreamcast. Today, I own all of the modern systems (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) and some classic systems (PS1, N64, Saturn, Genesis, SNES, Dreamcast). I also own some Nintendo handhelds as well.

Nice meeting everyone!

I've looked around the site every now and then for about a year or so, but didn't decide to join till right now. I've been into video games for a very long time now, most my life. I'm not certain what else to say...I also collect animation cells, action figures and their prototypes, books, comics...a whole bunch of stuff.

I think some people already saw me on the IRC room so now this is a "formal" intro.

Not much to say, I will probably stay as an IRC lurker. Sorry in the future.

Hey!
I am a college student from San Antonio, Texas. I had found this forum years ago, but at the time, it was down. I forgot all about this site untill I stumbled on it again a few months ago.

My favorite games would have to be:
-The Zelda series (LOZ is my #1)
-too many NES games
-The Silent Hill series
-Pitfall!
-Combat
...asking me to choose a fave game is like asking which child I love more. Do I like Castlevania more than Double Dragon II? Or Ice Hockey more than Tecmo Super Bowl? I'd rater not decide.

I collect for a number of systems, but the NES is my priority.

The first system I played was the 2600...till my uncle sold it and a backpack FULL of games for $15!
My first system wa an NES. My mom bought it for me for Christmas when I was 3. Thats where it all started...

Hi, I am a new member, and a fairly new collector.

My name is Daniel and I live in Maryland.
I found out about the site through my friend, whose username is mario2butts.

I am interested in collecting for any system I have:
-NES
-SNES
-N64
-GCN
-GEN/SCD
-PS/PS2
-Atari 2600
-Dreamcast

I only have ~110 games right now, as I am a struggling high school student monetarily, though I am always on the lookout for deals and flea market regularly now.

Some of my favorite newer games include Oblivion for 360, God of War, Guitar Hero, and Call of Duty 2 for 360.

Systems I collect for:
-SNES
-Genesis
-PS2
-Gamecube
I want to start collecting for the NES also.

The first game I ever played was Mega Man X when I was like three or four after that I was addicted to video games and probably will be for the rest of my life.

Once I finish high school my goal is to go to college for video game design and development. Hopefully I will make some awesome games for you guys and girls in the future.
